DruidMan.EXE VS Kaimaria.APP

Druidman stopped dead after he watched Kaimaria. This girl... this girl... she seemed to be trained in the same natural arts as Druidman was! The chances of that happening seemed staggering to him.

But...

She may operate similarly to him, but the chances of her being an actual druid seemed slim. Certainly she was a Navi based on nature. Quite possibly a Wood type. Druidman was used to the occasional odd stare when he was tracking, since it was such a rare talent in this new technological age.

Snapping himself out of his stupor, Druidman began to notice other things about this Navi. She seemed to parallel Druidman in many areas of mannerisms and garb, and was certainly pretty. In another situation, Druidman would probably had tried to get to know her a bit, but there wasn't any time for that now. Still, there were certain niceties that needed to be observed.

"Hey there, dudette." He said, winking all the same. "Are you...?" he struggled for the right word. "Are you a tracker?" he settled on. If he was right, then 'tracker' was a laughably simple descriptor for what the two of them could do, but if he was wrong, she wouldn't understand what he was asking.
Kaimaria waited for Druidman to finish his question, then nodded. "Yep... Something like that." She sniffed the air again, and then frowned slightly, as if unhappy. She crossed her arms as she spoke again: "Gets me all kinds of strange looks." She uncrossed her arms then shook her head and smiled wryly.

"Oooooohyeah..." Kaimaria smiled in genuine light-hearted amusement as she began tightening the straps on her gloves. "...If they only knew." She sighed as she rolled her eyes towards the sky.

"Well..." Kaimaria continued lightly as she stood on one leg, brought her other leg up so her foot rested against the back of her thigh with her knee pointed forwards, and fastened the wrap around straps on her left boot while standing. "I s'pose you could call me a hunter, of sorts." She lowered her left leg, then raised her right, and repeated the process. Her pose and the way she managed to maintain her balance were reminiscent of a bird perching on one leg.

"The critters I hunt down are really dangerous beasts." Kaimaria added as she lowered her right leg, and resumed standing on both feet. She began fastening her vest closed, and continued speaking, almost absently: "They just don't always look like it..." Once she had her vest fastened closed, the began tightening the leather straps on the lower portion of the vest, below her chest; thus taking up the slack. "...But, that's ok."

Kaimaria finished her task, tilted her head back up, and looked across at Druidman. "A chimera's sense of smell is rarely fooled. And you..." Her eyes closed as her voice went from friendly and light to cold and flat. "...smell like dragon." With those words, Kaimaria's entire body was enshrouded in a near-white green glowing mass of light that looked similar to when she'd jacked-in. The glowing light vanished abruptly less than a second later....

Kaimaria was now clad in a coppery-bronze suit of plate armor, worn over her other attire. Her upper torso was protected by a form-fitting inch-thick bronze chest-piece. Her shoulders were protected from above by inch-thick curved armor pieces that followed the curve of her shoulders. Her legs were encased in a shell of bronze armor that was thicker on the outside than inside. Her arms were similarly encased in a protective shell of coppery-bronze armor that were thinner on her upper arms and thicker on her fore-arms. She also now wore an open-face bronze helmet with both an overhanging, hooked 'beak' and sharp bronze 'bat ear' vanes that started just above her still-exposed ear-covers and rose a few inches above the top of her helmet.

Added to this, Kaimaria now sported a cape of overlapping razor-sharp bronze blades, which rested upon her back. Her gauntleted fingers now ended in 4-inch long, razor sharp ivory bear claws. She now stood upon articulated bird-like bronze talons, complete with sharply curved ivory nails (this made her about 3 inches taller). The braces she wore curved over the backs of her hands, and each armored brace supported what looked like a one-foot diameter bronze disc rimmed with wicked-looking curved ivory blades.

((Fight Theme))

Kaimaria, now armored and armed for battle, settled into a loose martial fighting stance and shouted: "Junbi!"
Druidman froze.

His eyes widened for a fraction of a second, but he caught himself.

This was it. Somehow, he had been found out. Everything was over. OVER. They would tear him into tiny frags and study every line of his code, and throw Steve in a jail cell, then conveniently lose his file so he'd never get out, and that would only be if he was lucky. He couldn't give anything away. Not yet. Maybe there was still a chance he could talk his way out of it.

"You know, lady, I've gone on a hunt or two myself. I perfer some of the smaller game, but every once in a while I run into larger things, you know, dude." Druidman chuckled a bit.

"So, what do you mean by chimera? Don't those things have like, three heads, man? No wonder you think I'm a dragon, someone's messed up your optics." he continued, as he began to draw his scimitar, "I'm no programmer, but maybe it's a compatibility issue."

Seeing that this was doing little to dissuade her, Druidman spun his weapon around and lowered into a crouch. He was already clearing his mind for his best magic. He was gonna need to use every ounce of power and cunning at his disposal if he was gonna walk away from this fight in one piece.

One thing was certain, however: This was no longer a game. This was a fight for life or death.
The loudspeaker crackled and a hush fell across the crowd as the tournament announcer began to speak.

"Welcome one and all to round one of the ONB Netbattling Tournament! We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for coming out today, and also to thank our generous sponsors." He paused briefly, presumably to take a breath so he could continue in his over-exaggerated announcer voice. "As of this moment, until the end of the tournament, your folders will be locked to the preset tournament folder that you have been assigned."

"And now for the moment you've all been waiting for: Block One of the tournament is about to begin! Please give a warm welcome to Druidman and Kaimeria!"

The crowd let out a small roar at this point, excited about the spectacle to come.

"Are you ready combatants? The match will last until one of you concede defeat or are ejected from the Colosseum network!" He paused again, for dramatic effect.

In the net, the word 'WARNING' was spelled out in large and flashing red block letters while what sounded like an alarm went off for a few seconds. The announcer yelled an excited "Match, start!" as the letters disappeared and the alarm stopped.

Druidman: 250

Kaimeria: 320

-Wild Counter
At the word start, Kaimaria clapped her hands together before her and summoned a light gray sphere of energy to encompass and protect her. As the barrier formed around her, Kaimaria fluidly fell into a low guard and began sprinting towards her adversary with surprising speed for one armored as she was. She kept her her profile low while propelling herself forward with a strange shuffling kick-stride wherein her legs moved more horizontally than vertically. She kept her arms before her and tucked in close to her body, ready to lash out, block, or push away from the ground suddenly.

A moment later, Kaimaria leaned and shifted her weight to the right while falling into an impromptu crouch. In the same moment, she also dropped her arms down, dug her claws into the ground, and then kicked her self up as she jumped sideways towards one of the Hematite Columns. "Hut!" As she leaped sideways, she crossed her arms before her, grabbed one of the bronze throwing discs on her arms, and slung it towards Druidman. The curved ivory blades of the disc extended to their full length as the weapon left her hands and began slicing its way through the air towards her target.

Kaimaria landed in a crouch a few panels away from where she'd jumped sideways, arms crossed before her, and prepared to jump again. "Tsu!" As she kicked off from the ground in a back-flip, she grabbed and threw the second bronze disc at Druidman with practiced motion. As she inverted, she extended her arms as if to land in a hand-stand, but instead channeled energy into her palms and blasted the panel she would have touched down on with a blue blast of evergy that send her rocketing into the air feet-first.

Kaimaria curled herself into a ball as she shot upwards and back in the direction of another of the Hematite Columns. As she neared the column, the cape of blades resting upon her back unfurled into a pair of razor-sharp slatted bronze wings that halted her backwards progress and canceled her spinning motion like an air brake. She uncurled herself as her wings spread, came upright, and flung a giant, vertically spinning blade at Druidman, all in one fluid motion. The blade flew downwards, hit the ground, and began shearing its way along the floor, and through anything in its path like a giant circle-saw blade. It would eventually reach a wall and begin climbing upwards while cutting deeper and deeper into the vertical surface. The blade eventually sliced its way deep enough into the wall that it vanished from sight entirely.

Kaimaria landed upon the top of the Hematite Column a moment after hurling the wooden saw-blade-from-hell, and skidded backwards a foot or two before coming to a complete stop. She quickly raised her arms to chest level and bent her elbows and in stepped forward. She turned around with her step, pivoted her body, and spin-kicked herself forwards in a short hop. "Eihh..." As she spun around, she flung her arms out and sent another 5-foot-wide slicer ripping through the air. "...YAA!" This one flew downwards in a broad sideways arc; shearing through everything it came into contact with along the way as it angled in to attack Druidman from the side. It eventually came within a foot of touching the ground before the spinning air currents it was producing gently pushed the blade back upwards slightly. The blade made a half circuit of the room before it arced its way back and burrowed into the wall; disappearing quickly therein.

After executing that last attack, Kaimaria stoop up, folded her wings back they way they were before, and assumed a wide stance with arms forward.

As the announcer began the start of the battle, Druidman was already rapidly in motion, flourishing his scimitar around him, leaving a trail of simple energy behind, which he quickly grabbed and swirled over himself like a cocoon of protection. Watching his opponent, he saw her doing similar, so he knew he still had a bit of time.

Druidman closed his eyes and muttered a quick chant, the words were with a rugged, craggy sort of quality, in a raspy and gravely voice. As if written by some giant, unseen hand, an intricate circle of runes in a glowing brown color flowed outwards from Druidman's feet, forming the ancient druidic symbol for the element of Earth. Druidman opened his eyes, revealing to Karmaria that they were now a similar shade of brown, and revealing to Druidman that she was much closer than she was previously. Smiling, Druidman slammed his foot into the ground and roared, "ENCRAOCHING EARTH FORCE!!!" From his foot, Druidman launched a shockwave of energy, followed by sharp roots spiking out of the ground in it's wake.

Knowing that he only had a matter of seconds, Druidman activated his next chip. As he felt himself fade into nothingness, he closed his eyes again and began a second chant.

Behind Kairmaria, a second circle of power, this one in red and symbolizing the element of Fire, formed as Druidman faded back into existence in it's center. Now with his eyes and scimitar both burning brightly, blazing in a violent shade of crimson. "ENTANGLING HEAT FORCE!!!" Druidman bellowed quickly, as he spun several strong vines towards his opponent, and continued his charge with fiery blade aloft.

As Druidman spun around once more, he noted that Kaimaria was now on a pillar, and, knowing that there was little he could do about it at the moment, merely held up his left be-gauntleted arm, and felt a surge of life as a thick, large, shield made of ironwood burst into being, wrapped around his forearm and reaching outwards, ready to defend it's master.

1.) Barrier Battlechip to Self. (10HPBarrier)
2.) Encroaching Earth Force to Kaimaria. (60Break, 20Wood, Breaking)
3.) Areagrab Battlechip. (Dodge/Get behind Kaimaria)
4.) Entangling Heat Force to Kaimaria. (30Wood, 50Fire)
5.) Guard1 Battlechip to Self. (Reflect60)
The two combatants readied their defenses before beginning their assaults on each other.

Kaimaria charged towards Druidman, who quite literally put his foot down. Only his foot just happened to send a trench and some vines cracking through the ground towards the ever-closing Kaimaria. Kaimaira, however, was having none of that. Using her claws and her acrobatic abilities to soar out of harms way and through the air, she quickly sent her chakranai towards her Druid foe... who was no longer where she swore he was.

Druidman reappeared behind Kaimeria, his eyes, sword, and fighting spirit burning red. His vines managed to grab her legs, but were unable to hold due to the barrier. She quickly sent herself flying through the air and onto a nearby column a moment before he struck with the blade. The blow was so close that it left sing marks on her armor from the heat.

Kaimaria landed somewhat rougher than she had anticipated, but recovered rather quickly and sent two large projectiles at Druidman. Luckily for him, he activated a Guard chip moments before the first projectile had hit him, and sent it flying back towards Kaimaria. She quickly deflected it off-course with her claws, but her arms were left stinging from the impact. The second projectile was lucky enough to strike Druidman, though his barrier protected him from the majority of the impact.

[Modded by Leon]
"Whoa!" Druidman yelled as a the whirlwind of energies blasted off and neutralized each other. The spectacular display had done little in the ways of results, but that was a small victory in it of itself; Druidman was still here.

"You're good." Druidman admitted. "But that won't help you much longer, man. Now I think I've got you figured out, huntress." he stated boldly.

Druidman quickly spun a second cocoon of energy around him, thankful that the first had manged to do it's job well. Of course, his opponent had shielded herself in a similar manner, making her defense almost impregnable.

Almost.

But Druidman would need her on the ground by him first. Lifting his gauntlet up and pointing it in Karmaria's direction, Druidman felt the familiar spring powered system coil into existence as parts slid around on the gauntlet. Grabbing the catch, he pulled the spring taut, and, loading nothing into the chamber, merely let go.

The result was a blast of potent air, not much to damage, but plenty in the means of movement. This would even things up for him to allow him to crack that tough shell she was under. Which, is what Druidman set out immediatly to do as he chanted out another peaceful string of words, followed by his eyes and the ground around him glowing a bright green. The ground almost seemed to churn as Druidman rumbled forth with the command to the Element of Wood: "RAMPANT GROWTH FORCE."

The ground erupted with life, as lush grass began to boil out of the ground, carpeting the area around Kaimaria. Dozens of razor fine nettles burst around her, stabbing cruelly towards her. Druidman quickly pulled out his scimitar once more. "Enjoy this little present, dude!" he yelled as the blade burst into flames.

Druidman pointed the blade at Kaimaria and focused. The helix of fire gathered at the tip, and, with a blast similar to a cannon, hurled a ball of heat at his opponents feet.

Not wasting any time, Druidman held his gauntlent aloft once more to form a new sheild. As it formed, Druidman noted that it seems lighter than usual, as well as oddly shaped. He looked.

There, melded with the gnarled surface of the wood, was a honeycomb of a beehive, with the workers crawling over it's surface. Druidman shuddered slightly. She would regret attacking this one.

1.)Barrier Battlechip to Self. (10HPBarrier)
2.)Untapped Power: Airshot1 Battlechip to Kaimaria. (20Norm+20Norm+Microburst, to get her off column)
3.)Rampart Growth Force to Kaimaria. (1Woodx80, should strip off any defenses she has left, plus do a little damage, Grass Terrain area afterwards.)
4.)Heatshot Battlechip to Kaimaria. (40Fire+Spread, x3 (weakness+grass terrain) burn up most of the grass)
5.)RiskyHoney1 Battlechip to self. (Blocks attack, then 5Woodx10)
Kaimeria stood atop the column, seemingly oblivious to what was going on around her.

Druidman, however, was already well on his way to attacking her. His first blow not only knocked Kaimeria off backwards, but it managed to knock the column over with her. The column made short work of her defenses, and left her dazed under a pile of rubble. Druidman's Rampant Growth Force covered the now toppled pillar, as well as the area around it, with grass and moss and thorny plants, all leaving Kaimeria feeling a little worse for the wear. The heatshot that followed made short work of the greenery as well as the remainder of Kaimeria's health.

She was quickly EJO'd, and letters spelling 'VICTORY' appeared above Druidman, as confetti burst from out of nowhere to celebrate the winner.

Kaimeria and her operator were given the choice of zenny or a chip as a reward, and escorted out of the area with Steve and Druidman, who were directed to wait in the lobby for their next round.

The announcer chimed in to announce the victor, as well as directing fans to the remaining battles.

----------
Kaimeria Timeout.

Winner Druidman.
Druidman smirked. He needed no crutch to lean on, despite what Kaimaria knew about him. His power was his own.

Of course, it was an issue that people now knew about him, but he felt that he would tackle that obstacle when he got there.

"Peace Out!" Druidman said as he body burst into thousands of leaves, which were quickly scattered to the winds.
