"Hi, and welcome back to NNN; Net News Network. We now go live to our sports, correspondant, UmpireMan, reporting from historic NetVegas Arena."

"Thanks, AnchorMan. Well, we've got one heck of a situation down here; to those viewers just tuning in, the recently created MFL, or Metool Football League, has hit a large snag, as its players have started a riot right here in NetVegas! To those that aren't aware of what the MFL is, it was created a few months ago after some of the Net's most wealthy residents decided that all of the Navi-based sports were, and I quote: "Boring as all holy hell". These Navis ammassed a large amount of money and commissionned the SciLabs to create a team of sports playing viruses, in the hope that they would provide a new form of entertainment. In order to get them to compete, however, the employees working on the project had to give them a pre-disposition to hate the other teams. The first game was to take place today, in the arena behind me, but a scheduling mistake caused all four teams to arrive at the arena simultaniously, and in the same locker room. Naturally, the viruses went berserk, and quickly caused a riot to spread throughout the entire arena. NetPolice have been called to help handle the situation, and some hardy NetBattlers have decided to take matters into thier own hands."

"Quite the facinating turn of events, Ump, can you give us a description of these viruses?"

"Certainly, Anchor." Umpireman scoops down and picks up a passing virus. "Now, what we have here is a QuarterMet, and as you can see, it looks a lot like a standard Metool, save for the football helmet, and the fact that it has glove-like hands instead of a pick. There are two larger varieties, called HalfMets and FullMets." The virus squirms, and releases itself from Umpireman's grip. "Whoops, looks like he got away from me. Anyway, the one I had there was a player for the ACDC Arbors, which, of course, have a green and brown colour scheme, and a picture of a tree on the sides of the helmet. The other three teams are the SciLab Isotopes, the Electown Current, and the NetVegas Boxcars, which sport blue and red helmet with an atom, a yellow and grey helmet with a light bulb, and a red and black helmet with a pair of dice, respectively."

"Anything else, Ump?"

"Yes, actually. What footage we have shows that these viruses, when confronted by a Navi, will attack by charging at the Navi and knocking them over with a vicious tackle. And, oddly enough, certain Quartermets will seem to not attack Navis that exclusively target viruses sporting different team colours." Umpireman pauses and places his hand on his ear before continuing. "Anchor, I've just recieved word that some Navis are reporting unknown chip data from these viruses, and those that have decided to test it have demonstrated a vicious tackle similar to the ones that the viruses have been using. Operators have nicknamed them the 1st Down, 2nd Down, and 3rd Down, but there's no word from the GNA on whether they will classify it as an official chip." Just as UmpireMan finishes his sentence, he is tackled by a stray FullMet, and shortly after, it appears that the cameraman has also been tackled. The feed goes back to AnchorMan.

"We will update you on the story as it develops."
