Hare and Hedgehog (VS Riccio)

Slowly forming in the vastness of NAXA's network, Jazz formed atop a small floating asteroid outside of the den that Riccio had been found inhabiting since it reappeared, the navi standing and slowly examining the area, before jumping off his perch and intermittently, moving to a closer asteroid or large piece of metal he could make his jump onto. Even as he continued to jump from perch to perch, Jazz couldn't help but feel his pulse quicken, swallowing a lump in his throat as he slowly floated, jumped and floated closer and closer to the giant hedgehog's den. Even as he did, he couldn't help but notice scars and signs of fairly recent battles, maybe a few days at least from people continuously poking the hornet's nest so to speak.

Finding purchase upon the asteroid with the hole leading deep into itself, large enough for what he could only assume to be the creature's home, Jazz inhaled deeply, puffing his chest out and letting the air escape his lungs. Walking forward towards the hole, Jazz bellowed out. Riccio! I know you're there, you giant hedgehog! I am here to take a piece of your power for myself, like it or not! Now, we can do this the easy way, or the hard way! If I gotta pound on you until it drops, then I'm gonna! He shouted, a fair distance away from the giant hole in the asteroid's surface, but he stood regardless and waited for an answer from the beast itself...even if he had to fight to get a fragment of it's power, he felt prepared, ready to fight despite his words.

Stephine, meanwhile, finished the preparations on her folder, hoping that whatever Jazz was planning didn't wind up as a lark and get him deleted in the process. Don't know why you're trying to get it to give you it's power without a fight, we both know those beasts aren't going to understand you...and it's not like they don't need to get taken down a peg for the shit they've done over god knows how long now. So be ready with that plan, bunny boy, you're gonna have a long fight on your hands regardless of what you do. Wonder if the other beasts are watching this...nah...I'd be too insignificant to be of notice, Asteca certainly didn't see me as much else than a plaything if nothing else...but I gotta get stronger...I need to be able to stand on my own, gotta be able to stop him from escaping and fight off his influence...

(200 HP)
(Battle: Vs Riccio!)
When Jazz arrive,d the sight that greeted him wasn't quite the same as the reports he'd read, or the battle videos that Stephine had been catching up on. The overall features looked right... they were in a distant, outlying part of the NAXA nets, far removed from any normal transitways or registered structures. It was indeed a vast asteroid field, with impossibly distant nebulae of colourful sprays forming beautiful patterns on the dark backdrop of space. Far off, a single large planetoid spun slowly, its giant gaseous form almost certainly uninhabitable.

Far off, thought the field of drifting space rocks, Jazz could see a change – the asteroids became black and reflective, etched with intricate lines of golden circuitry in complex patterns. Lighting cracked between the distance rocks, if they were rocks, intermittently. Deeper in the cluster, some of the rocks were much larger, and at the very centre a huge, singular asteroid that was almost enough to be considered a small moon in its own right. It, too, seemed to be made of the reflective black substance, covered in glowing circuit threads.

Jumping from one rock to another, Jazz eventually arrived at the central land mass; it drifted in space, turning over on itself, and the gravity felt light. The surface he landed on was smooth, but not far away he could see a broke-looking edge that dropped away into a dark tunnel. Other entry ways and exits seemed to dot the asteroid, and it looked as though it could easily contain a network of tunnels and caves all through it.

As his feet touched, he could feel the magnetic pull of the terrain, though the hare was already well prepared for dealing with such a nuisance. A sense of energy filled the air, though, and a scent like ozone accompanied a faint, continuous hum of sound. A pulse of light rippled through the golden circuitry that covered every inch of the ground, spreading outward over the asteroid in a wave. After a few seconds, it pulsed again, a regular, slow heartbeat that seemed to be coming from somewhere within the caverns.

Nothing answered Jazz's initial challenge, but almost imperceptibly, the pulsing beat of the golden circuits quickened, just a little. Something knew he was here. A few moments passed, before the pulses of the asteroid seemed to come closer together – not quickening, but something moving closer. A glow began to rise from one of the nearby tunnel entrances, growing brighter and brighter, until something began to crest the lip, bright flares of lighting dancing off its body.

Heavy steps made the ground tremor and the pulses from the circuits radiated out from the creature that climbed into view. Initially, it was hard to make out the details, through the bright glow of electricity covering it, but the first thing to take note of was the creature's size. The tunnels were shaped for the creature, it seemed, and it was large enough to fill them – some thirty or forty feet across. It had a low-slung body, on solid legs with powerful claws that scraped against the black metal as it walked; a protruding snout held a mouth still easily capable of devouring a navi whole. The rest of its body was covered in a dense forest of spines, each glowing and flashing their own contribution to the dazzling show of lights.

Seeing the creature before him, however, Jazz could see that something was... different. The Riccio of the news reports and stories was grand and terrifying – bristling quills, clad in armoured plates of yellows and blues, with eyes of brilliant topaz yellow. That had been the Riccio in the reports, and on the videos, responsible for deleting countless unfortunates. Stephine had been able to access recordings of battles, including the fantastic showdown between the beast, and the four brave navis that had finally been its undoing... For a time. This Riccio was not the same, however. Danger had lingered, and more navis had lost their lives to the fabled stretch of NAXA space. Other, more recent recordings had shown her the same beast, fighting furiously and destroying those if faced, reformed, from cast off machinery and scrap metal, but still very much alive; a feral beast with bestial fury and dull eyes that lacked the primal glow the beast had once borne. This Riccio was not that one either.

The beast that emerged before Jazz had the same proud form and carriage of the earliest sightings, but his form was now one of sleek black metal, laced with golden circuits that crackled with energy and pulsed rhythmically across his body. Every quill and claw was edged with the same gold, highlighting and accenting his features as they conducted power. Above its snout, black eyes held a void that was shot through with its own internal cracks of electricity.

This close, Jazz could feel its presence in the air, his fur standing up just from the proximity; the pressure of its being might be enough to overwhelm some navigators just on its own, though to Jazz, it was only a small echo of the force of self he'd felt in proximity to the other beasts he'd met recently. Nevertheless, here at least, in this place, it was hard to shake the feeling that this beast's will was absolute, and that Jazz was not welcome in its home. The sense of ozone in the air swelled and the beast's glowing body pulsed brighter before it lifted its head, its long claws gouging into the metal, and let out a reverberating sound that echoed off the landscape like a crash of static and electronic noise. Electrical discharges arced off it, grounding themselves into the golden circuitry all around Jazz, and the hare had to move quickly to avoid the couple of errant bolts that struck down randomly in his direction. The beast clearly intended to fight.

Jazz began to notice things were far, far different than what he had observed. Instead of rocky outcroppings and broken terrains, Jazz found...reflective black and golden yellow all across the area, even the asteroids that he had been jumping from were covered all around by the same metallic materials, a strong pull as he landed on the planetoid, but his floatshoes prevented their effect from doing anything to him...thankfully. But all the same, things were way too different, things...were not as he foresaw them being. To top everything off, even as the beast began to show itself to him, as the metal and magnets beneath his feet began to pulse and quickened those pulses...he realized that wasn't the Riccio he had seen in the recordings, in the attempts that navis recorded to have something to show to the net...it was as it was, years ago...fully reformed, no metal clinging to it's body or quills as it shook the very area around him with it's bestial roar...this was the true power of a Cybeast...and suddenly, the idea his strategy may not be nearly as effective as he once thought it to be.

WhatTheFUCKAm ILooking At?! the two spoke in almost unison with each other as Jazz made some quick movements to avoid being fried by the cybeast's bolts of lightning, slipping backwards to avoid them, along with what was happening. Light atmosphere would make his movements more effective, but part of his strategy revolved around throwing a pair of bombs to cause the Cybeast's effective data to rot and decay, burn and char away, but now...those didn't seem to be the best idea to have right now...but all the same, his heart raced, pulse quickened as he realized a part of himself that had been dormant for years. Heh...an actual challenge...been a while since I felt like this. He mumbled, Stephine looking down at her PET as she heard this. You're serious...aren't you? Seriously getting excited for this?! What is wrong with you!? She questioned him as he stretched, popping a few joints as he chuckled. Would you believe me if I said "everything"?

Sighing and rubbing her eyes as she grabbed some chips from her desk, Jazz interrupted her for a moment. Let me do my thing before sending chips, Stephine. I got a few tricks I wanna pull off. He spoke, simply as he began to create his defenses just in case the willy hedgehog began to attack while he was setting himself up. A large clear barrier forming about his body like a protective bubble, while hardened armor formed directly upon his body, clear and ready to block a hit should it come to that, while a shield made of the same material as his new set of armor came up to his hand, grasped in a death-grip by the hare, he stood his ground for a brief moment and held his shield outwards towards the angry Cybeast. Waiting and watching the titanous creature in front of him before finally darting towards the side, feet quickly leaping him out of the way, sending him ever so slightly sky-borne as he hoped to evade and avoid losing his defenses too early on, it was a long fight ahead and he couldn't stop the possibility in the back of his mind that his plan wouldn't work like he intended.

Skidding to a halt above the magnets and metal that pulsated, Jazz heard his body let out a slight crack in his systems, his integrity dropping just a bit as Stephine raised an eyebrow at the sudden loss of HP...he didn't get hit, right? No, something else triggered it and it caused Jazz to spit a little blood up onto the floor...and his body began to split apart, two clones beginning to form to either side of him, their bodies slightly intangible, but otherwise solid enough to fool a beast...right? Alright boys! First time I'm doing this, but lets give that infernal hedgehog a blast of a first showing, shall we?! He shouted out as the two clones nodded in unison, all three Jazzes immediately pulling out a pair of knives, one in each hand minus the Original's, who pulled two out between his fingers. And a-one and a-two and a-throw! he continued as the three Jazzes brought their hands back and with a snap of their wrists the sharpened knives flew at the creature in a fairly tight fan shape, attempting to bring all six of the knives to purchase against the cybeast's tough outer exterior. Alright, see one-a ya guys here in a moment or two! Hope I'm not dead by that point. He commented afterward, wiping away some flecks of blood from his mouth as the clones disappeared as part of their programming. Stephine on her end slotted a chip in for Jazz just in case as she continued to review the data that had been recorded by various navis and their operators, the Cybeast had changed so rapidly over the last...week or so? Did someone beat it since the last recorded fight? Or did something else happen, causing this mutation back to it's absolute prime? Either way, she needed to keep a close eye on Jazz regardless, he had balls, but he'd probably not have them for much longer if he went at this recklessly.

Inhaling deeply as Jazz slowly began to form a curtain of darkness in front of him, letting the thing slowly "unfurl" down towards the ground as he stepped through it. Slowly but surely, his body began to become wreathed in shadows similar to the shadow line of chips, though if one looked closely, small pinpricks of light like stars dotted across his newly shadowed body and the look of a vast nebula behind the "stars" as he almost took on the appearance of a small galaxy in hare form. Eyes darting left and right, Jazz quickly began to channel the power of the woods, of nature itself from deep within the planetoid's body, even with the metal plating it, electricity coursing through the field itself, metal was just rock and stone to a degree, just fashioned into a more sturdy form...not the type of "nature" he was used to, but nature was nature and he'd take what he could get as his form took on a slight green tint in the vastness of space. Swiftly following things up, just to get a feel for how things were gonna go, Jazz quickly brought his free hand outwards and began to summon a circular weapon into his hand. Breathing out, the navi began to move his arm around the inner circumference of the bladed hoop, the weapon's metal nature glinting off of Riccio's electricity and light as he sped up this movement, the hoop bouncing up and down now, barely avoiding hitting the panels below as he grabbed one of the handles from within the blade, twirling about and releasing the giant chakram at the creature in a wide arc, hoping to cut into Riccio's sides or it's face with the bladed weapon.

Less certain of the strikingly different creature in front of them both, operator and navi pushed on with their plans regardless and Jazz swiftly set up the defences he'd need for the fight. Riccio wasn't giving him a chance to get comfortable, however. Where the beast had once been slow and ponderous, if crushingly powerful, his black and gold form moved now like dark lightning. Even as his electronic cry echoed and faded, a scrape of claws on metal saw the electric beast blasting forward, wreathed in lightning as it barrelled towards Jazz. Its body almost seemed to stretch and flow, claws barely touching the ground between strides until it shot through his position as a storm of screeching static and electricity. Jazz dodged, throwing himself aside of the majority of the creature's mass, but crackling sparks still raked him and it passed; successive hits wore through his barrier and hammered on his shield until it buckled, but then the storm was passed in another instant, and Jazz turned amidst the sound of shrieking metal to see Riccio skid to a turning stop on the far side of him, claws dragging golden tracks across the circuits.

As the massive beast came to a halt, Jazz had recovered and answered with his own army of hares that began to strike back, peppering the creature with shots of their own. The volley of knives struck in, making a line of piercings across the beast's shoulders, while beneath its feet the magnetic terrain shuddered, and then crackled, going dull and normalising itself under the barrage of wooden attacks.

A low chord reverberated out of the beast, like humming live wires as it growled, eyes flicking about to the multiple targets, before it stamped both front claws again and threw back its head with a fresh howl of fury. Lighting raced up through the golden tracing of its body, building into a storm amidst his quills, before pulsing outward in a acing wave of bolts that thundered across the open space in an expanding dome of electricity. Jazz felt the wave roll over him, the flaring light blinding him briefly, and he felt it cracking away at his next layer of defence. His partner decoys were gone after the wave, of course, though one would be back soon. Riccio huffed and growled its odd tech-sounding growl again, sizing up the remaining intruder for a moment. Beneath it, where its blood had spilled slightly and run into the ground, the black magnet panels reasserted themselves over the damaged ones, while the gold metal threads shot fresh circuit pathways through the repaired black metal.

After only another short instant, Riccio pressed down with his claws, leaping backwards to the edge of one of the tunnels, then drove a fore-claw into the metal in front of him, spinning his great body around in a swing that displayed the entire forest of spines on its back directly towards Jazz. As it passed the midsection of its arc, the beast discharged the entire array at him in a blasting bolt of lightning that seared across the panels, just as Jazz himself slipped into shadow. The bolt tore through him, thick and broad enough to engulf his entire body, but it passed by in a detached way that failed to properly connect, and as the light flared and Riccio landed again at the end of his spin, Jazz remained unharmed.

Riccio's eyes flicked and scanned, picking out Jazz again more slowly this time as he growled low. It seemed almost like he couldn't tell quite as clearly where Jazz was, in his shadowed state, though the black eyes still focused on his rough location eventually. Jazz was already moving to counter, but between the blinding light of the disorienting bolt that had just passed through him, the insubstantial essence that now protected his body, and the asteroid's low external gravity, the arc of his boomerang travelled wide of the beast on one side, and then wide of it again on the return, failing to connect. Riccio's head whipped side to side, its body shifting in response to the attack, and he stalked an extra step forward, trying to narrow in on the slippery navi.

Jazz almost instinctively brought his arms up to protect against the blast the hedgehog had brought against him, but even though his boomerang missed, he didn't seem to care too much, but he survived the electrical blast without a single singed hair. His eyes glowing ominously at the beast as underneath the shadows, he smirked, taking on a more nonchalant tone and mannerisms. What's the matter big boy, can't touch this? He spoke condescendingly as his clone sprung forth from the void, sliding across the magnets without a second thought to them. Oh, you're alive. Good, that means I don't stay gone. The clone remarked before the two nodded at each other. Jazz making a arm and hand motion, as if telling his clone to circle around, with the clone immediately understanding the intent.

Rushing off, the clone began to move towards the giant beast in front of the two of them before dashing off towards one side, beginning to make a semi-circle around the beast's body and hopefully, with it's hands outstretched would make a perfect target to keep Riccio from attacking Jazz himself, wreathing it's arms in a faded grassy green energy that barely gave off any proper light in the darkness around them. Meanwhile, the hare began to focus intently at the beast in front of him, eyes swirling around in the inky, starry void that was his shadow covered face. Blood beginning to slowly swirl around the inner area of the eyes as he continued to focus intently before they settled back into place, attempting to predict the beast's movements...and then in a flash, leaving a blood puddle behind (and a confused operator), Jazz all but flew in towards the beast's flank. Arm wreathed in a dangerous looking grassy green energy and radiating light off his shadowy form, Jazz attempted to silently slash at the giant before him, sliding in towards it's body and bringing his arm forward in a deep and gratuitous slash at the gold and black hedgehog's form, making his attempt to make up for the self-harm with a fresh stream of energy from a legendary beast.

Backing off for a moment as Jazz took another chance to keep up with the beast, breathing deeply as he tried to take another round of aiming on the beast, Jazz grunted. Backing off for a moment as Jazz took another chance to keep up with the beast, breathing deeply as he tried to take another round of aiming on the beast, Jazz grunted. Stephine, gimmie one of those Numberball chips and the Shake, I think I've burned out most of my signatures for the moment and wanna keep a couple in reserve. Wanna get the most outta this if I can. He spoke simply and quickly, feeling the shadow beginning to slowly dissipate from his body, good for another few moments at least. Transferring energy into his hands, Jazz summoned the chip to materialize in front of him, turning to the beast if it had moved and pulling out a set of three metal ball bearings in one hand, one each between a pair of fingers no bigger than a inch or two in any which way. Rolling the trio around dexterously between his fingers, Jazz gave the beast a wide brimmed grin as they took on an earthy green color and began to drop one down onto the ground. Suck on my balls, Riccio! He exclaimed (with Stephine and his clone if it was still there, letting out an annoyed groan on cue), the ball barring immediately growing to a large size that was almost as big as the hare himself with a large number imprinted on it's sides showing the last two digits of his HP, Jazz immediately bringing his leg back and kicking it towards the beast like a soccer ball and repeating the process twice more, each ball roughly the same size as it grew and more importantly, each taking on the properties of the wood element.

Sighing out as the shadow data was continuing to recede from his data, Jazz took aim once more in an attempt to get this to go off without a hitch. Eyes scanning the battlefield in an attempt to keep up with the thundering beast of legend, he needed to time this just right to make sure it hit...unfortunately, with the low gravity, he was unsure if he could time it right. But regardless, Jazz summoned another ball into his hand, this one much bigger, much denser and leaking what could only be generously called "poison", Jazz gently tossed it up and back into his palm. Calculating the distance and the trajectory he was planning on, Jazz hefted the ball up onto his palm like an athlete with a shotput and began to twirl around in a somewhat tight circle, attempting to build up a little bit of momentum. Doing this, he gripped the ball tightly in his hand and instead of throwing it upwards towards the beast, twisted his body around and hoping beyond hope, let the ball go and attempted to hurl the sphere at the beast's face directly. Upon it's impact, wherever it was, the sphere would explode outwards, sprinkling about poison across the small bit of the field it landed on, though it might not be enough to change the paneling at this point, it would certainly cling to any living thing and corrode it's data from the outside in...such as a giant beast of legend.

While Jazz was able to revel in his seeming invulnerability and his second self reappeared, Riccio stalked forward, uttering a low but fierce electronic grating sound as it did. The two began to circle, but the beast jumped backwards, kicking off the panels and sliding back to keep the pair in sight. His claws scraped on the circuits, tearing lines the reformed themselves in his wake, creating angled, almost artistic patterns in the black. His head turned left and right, before he seemed to lunge with one shoulder at the more clearly visible of the two hares, then spring in a sudden, unheralded body slam back in the other direction. The shoulder thrust sent a long, jagged quill at the the first hare, piercing it and causing its integrity to fail, but Riccio himself crashed through Jazz's actual position, shoulder-checking into a roll before coming upright and letting his body spin around in a sweep that ought to have sent the impudent navi flying.

Instead, Jazz remained where he was, unaffected, and after preparing himself returned with a slashing strike that bit into the creature's metal flank and parted the gold lines of definition that covered him. As part of his data drained back to Jazz, the feeling was hard and fierce, and for a brief moment, Jazz felt the stretch of the black metal terrain beneath his feet, stretching through the many twisting tunnels and cavers of the asteroid below. In an instant the sense faded again as Riccio pulled back, kicking away with the same unexpected agility, to land on the far side of the nearby tunnel mouth. His claws gripped the edge with a metallic shriek and the beast's back glowed with bright crackles of electricity as it took a fresh stance, facing Jazz again.

Fortunately for Jazz, this posturing also presented him with an effective target and as he sent out a volley of well-numbered balls in Riccio's direction the central one struck hard against the beast's chest while the other two scattered off to either side. The beast flinched, but held firm, then pressed his shoulders back and raise his head, covering the field in another storm of wild lighting that blasted downs across the landscape in a broad range all around Jazz; it seemed as though the beast was still trying to hit something without knowing exactly where the real Jazz was, but the hare could feel his shadows beginning to get thin. Lighting struck down all around Jazz, grounding into the gold circuitry of the panels and making them glow as the charge raced away across the terrain. Even the bolts that struck Jazz directly had no impact on him for now and Riccio paused again as the flare faded, scanning.

In that moment, the hare was able to line up one more shot at the reborn beast; the poison ball arced over the mouth of the tunnel between them, and crashed down across Riccio's back and shoulders, dripping down onto the panels below and making the golden trace lines grow dull and scuffed while the beast himself snarled in static and shook off the clinging goo, or tried to – some of it seemed to have settled on his form regardless, eating in gradually.

Slowly but surely slipping back into tangibility, Jazz reveled in a moment that he managed to make his attacks and kept himself fairly unharmed from the attacks, even managing to heal a bit all the same...but then came the niggling in the back of his mind. His numberball went off without a hitch...so why was two of the balls going off in different directions, not even attempting to harm the beast. Bringing up the data real quick, something must have hit him different as he read it's effects...and a quick dawning realization on what the chip ACTUALLY did and suddenly figured out -why- almost nobody used the damnedable things in the first place, Soryu must have been a bit surprised at someone buying the things in the first place. Okay, so, mind sending me the Crackout, TreeBomb and IceDragon, please? Gonna try and capitalize on this, I see a small portion of this field is dulled like with my wood elemental attacks. He spoke, almost not missing a beat as his form gradually began to peel away, his body slowly returning back into the tangible world as his coloration began to come into view for the Cybeast.

Chips slotted in, Jazz immediately swept his hands forwards and to the sides, smacking them upon the magnetically charged paneling as underground, a rocky tendril slipped through the entirety of the planetoid in a moment. Swiftly, it came through the entirety of the planetoid, a sharp point at the end as it quickly rose upwards beneath Riccio's feet just underneath it...rising through the dulled out paneling to pernitrate and send cracks throughout the entire panel all the way out to it's edges and cause it likely to fall in on itself the second Riccio moved away from it. Come now, big man. Why you gotta convert this entire planetoid into a magnetic hellscape? Don't wanna grow anything? Don't want some dirt to dig around in? Really, that's just making this little planetoid so sad! Listen to it. Listen to nature crying out in pain. Jazz spoke out mockingly, half seriously, keeping a trained eye on Riccio and waiting for it to make it's move before he made his. His body continuing to return to tangibility, Jazz pulled another seed out from within his void of a suit, a much larger seed than Stephine was used to seeing, about the size of Jazz's elbow wrapped in his hand. Fingers squeezing at the large item in his hand as he gently tossed the item up into air without a second thought, waiting for it to land near him before continuing his train of thought.

That poison? The corrosive that bomb sprinkled on ya? Yea, that's all natural even if the metal containing it wasn't. Stings, don't it? He spoke, questioning the beast as he moved, feeling his intangibility finally fully wearing off, Jazz made sure to move out of the way of it's attacks before it could catch him in it. His feet sliding cross the slick paneling like it was ice, his body slid and continued to try and play a precarious game with the beast, attempting to try and stay a step ahead of it at all costs. Slipping around and turning to the beast, Jazz brought his fists up and smashed them upon the ground like no other, a faint draconic roar echoing about as Jazz gave the beast a grin. Slipping out of whatever hole it could, a serpintine creature with wide wings and a icy blue body came from out of the blue, it's ice colored body punctuated by it's grim black eyes as it turned itself about in the air with a defiant little aerial dance in the low gravity as it flapped it's scaly wings like a fan. The creature barreled out of it's entrance and into the field, it's jaws opened wide, it inhaled deeply of the low atmosphere and let loose a frigid blast of ice across the field, taking special aim at Riccio and peppering the seed Jazz had thrown onto the ground with it's icy breath. Even if it had missed, icicles began to spin about in the air in an attempt to give the serpentine creature a chance to attack again even if it wasn't here to do so. But all the same, after it spiraled out and attacked, it went back into it's summoning point with another roar before fully disappearing from the field. All the same, Jazz quickly surveyed his surroundings and, if Riccio had managed to evade the icy blast somehow, the hare would make his exit from his current spot, jumping away from his current spot in an attempt to keep out of the way of Riccio's fury.

Across from the black and gold beast, Jazz prepared his next offensive as Riccio stalked around the edge of the tunnel, watching his shadowed from. The sudden cracking of the metallic terrain drew the beast's eyes for a moment, though the area wasn't large enough to pull the whole creature in. Nevertheless, more of the metal section fell in that Jazz might have been expecting, though it fell in an unnervingly procedural way; straight angles and lines collapsing outward in a uniform spiral before beginning to fill back in with fresh squares of metal run with circuit lifting up and unfolding into the gaps. Where Riccio's feet touched the surrounding panels, the process was faster, but for now a small patch remained broken open near him.

The beast rumbled an electronic growl and set himself as Jazz set up a casual next step, tossing down a seed and leaving it unattended; Riccio didn't wait. With a crack of lightning and sparks, the beast moved, crossing the space between them in a flash of stretching lines and gold-on-black static. His form phased like a bolt of energy, crossing back and forth through Jazz's position twice more in a flurry and each timen the hare felt what would have been a scouring storm of electrical stings, if not for his intangible form. The assault wasn't over, however, and as the beast came into sight again he slammed his paws down into the metal and leapt up.

The ground seemed to convulse and pulse with him; a dull thump that lifted from the asteroid itself along with Riccio's jump. Terrain buckled, shooting sheer spires of metal upward in a storm of black lances that threw Jazz and his seed into the air along with the rising beast. Golden strands of light shot up the metal extensions then burst into crackling lightning and lit up the starry space in a storm of energy that had Riccio at its core. Jazz was able, just to twist and angle in the midst of the disorienting throw; a couple of bolts passed through him harmlessly, but in the midst of it the last of his shadows fell away and the hare was left dodging the erratic bolts with just his impressive aerial acrobatics to keep him safe.

In the midst of this rising forest of tesla spires, a different shape snaked upwards; Jazz's dragon rose through the electrified tethers and the erratic tendrils of sparking electricity to spread its frosty breath across the high-flung seed and over the beast himself. The seed burst a moment later, sending a blast of wooden stakes out from it and into the beast as he reached the arc of his leap. Each shot struck and in glimpses, Jazz was rewarded by shunted flinched from the creature, knocking him slightly off his arc.

The static growl became a crackling howl, however, as golden tendrils of circuit stretched and meshed behind the the beast and he kicked off them, righting himself into a looming shape of storming thunder above Jazz, both fore claws raised and wreathed in lightning. Gravity was growing more insistent, and the Asteroid pulsed again. Between one moment and the next the light low gravity inverted and bunny, beast and all came crashing down in a clap of breaking thunder that was enough to drown the senses. Despite this, Jazz was still able to shift himself just enough to avoid the crushing landing; he landed safely, just in time to avoid being flattened and rent by the beast's strike, but Riccio landed with an absolute impact the shook the asteroid a second time, and his claws sunk in.

The ground rippled and fell away, folding down and under, inward on itself as Riccio seemingly tore it open with his landing. An expanding fractal pattern widened as the land vanished and a moment later they were falling again. Above, Jazz could see the starlight and open space receding again behind him – the same ordered pattern that had collapsed the ground was rapidly closing in on itself again, first with the golden circuits, and then with the more imposing black metal filling in the gaps. All around, golden lines glowed and crackled, and down below the glow was stronger still, but for the moment they were falling through seemingly open space. Across from him, maybe twenty feet away, Riccio was the brightest source of light – a small meteor descending towards the core of the asteroid in a claws-first free fall. He looked to be falling with deliberate control, but even so, Jazz could see the flecks of corrosive poison still lingering in his spines and around his limbs, and the creeping frost still clung to the beast as well, for now. The sense of electric static in the air was rising as they fell towards the centre of the asteroid, and Jazz could feel his fur trying to stand in response to it.

His attacks hit the massive creature, he got his will, he managed to even freeze the beast's internal systems briefly, but it would be less than half a minute for the beast's systems to clear up...and he was free falling, his arms and legs spread outwards as his shadows had dissipated and left him vulnerable for this briefest of moments...and the gravity finally turned back on, even as the electricity traveled over his body, pricks and pins and needles stabbing at him throughout his body as his fur stood on end, as if he went through a dry cycle in a dryer. Gritting his teeth as he began to speak to himself, a song on his voice as he spoke the lyrics silently to himself as he began to procure chip data from Stephine with a single message, trying to hold himself off from hitting the ground too soon.

What is it like when you pull back the curtain,
and realise every wrong is a right?

He mouthed to himself, an internal heavy beat in his head as he began to point one of his arms towards the glowing beast in freefall with himself, a light weapon forming around his hand as he held it outwards. The shape of an SMG painted with the colors of petrified wood wrapping around his furry fingers as he began to take aim towards the beast and make sure that his attack could land, though didn't care if a few bullets went wide from their initial target as he landed gracefully onto the ground floor of the beast's cavernous home, a puff of smoke rising beneath his feet and dispatching it with a sweep of his legs with arm outstretched and pointing at the creature, making sure to track his foe to his best capacity. And with a resounding, echoing click, the hare held fast onto his arm and let loose a torrent of bullets at the beast. Even with the recoil from the weapon he used, Jazz did all in his power to hold steady with his free hand to reduce it as much as he possibly could. All the while his mouth silently moved, singing along with the beat within his head.

Your world is rusted like a dirty razor,
The edge is calling tonight!

Slipping backwards very briefly, Jazz produced a pair of logs to either side of him, just long enough to reach up to under his arms and thin enough his fingers wrapped around the tops with little difficulty. Fingers and thumbs gripping at the top of each in a deathgrip, Jazz's fingers pulsated as he continued to wordlessly mouth lyrics like he was in a state of trance. Closing his eyes for a brief moment since the beast couldn't hurt him right now, Jazz shot them open again a second later and crushed the tops of either log, sending splinters across his feet as they became perfectly sharpened points from where his fingers were at. And with a single sweep of his leg, Jazz sent the log flying towards the beast, point attempting to aim for once of the beast's eyes. And with another swift, clean sweep of his other leg, Jazz sent the other one towards the beast in the same manner, the cyberwood being flung to pierce the beast's already flagging eyes.

The edge is calling tonight!
The edge is calling tonight!
The sun is setting,
darkness taking over,
A date with chaos and you're dressed to the nines!

He continued to mouth the song he was singing inwardly as his final weapon for the moment came at the right time, slipping his legs back underneath him and slipping forwards atop the beast's home and trying to keep aim with the beast's gravity active, Jazz showed off another metallic sphere like the one before, flames licking across it's surface ever so briefly and sending sparks into the air. Hefting the heavy sphere into his hand and waiting for the beast to potentially stop moving, Jazz would take his aim at his quary and much like a shotput, swept his arm around in a wide circle, making a pair of rotations before finally stopping and swiveling on his legs at the beast and tossing it with extreme force into the air, letting this one arc across the field as a grenade would and hoping that even if he missed just a little, he could catch the beast in the resounding explosion and catch it on fire to join with the corrosive poison he hand picked specifically for his poison bomb. Even on the net, Netfrica wasn't that far away and that place houses some of the deadliest toxins known to navi.

Falling through space, with the ever growing feeling of static and ozone in the air around him, Jazz still managed to bring his weapon to bear and keep it trained in the dazzling comet that was the beast descending alongside him. They dropped towards the ground of an open interior cavern that pulsed and glowed faintly with what could only be the thunder's own heart beat – golden lines of sharp-angled light glowing and dimming in concord all around them.

The cavern itself was scattered with odd shapes and strange protrusions, each patterned in the same metallic circuitry, but they bore the memory of other objects within them – to one side, a long, cylindrical shape rose form the ground at an angle, and the golden circuit tracing picked out access hatches, control panels and the broad solar-panel fans of a long forgotten satellite. Elsewhere, the snub-nosed shape of a derelict space shuttle was suggested int another metal protrusion, the gold etching marking its frontal window, the edges of its fins and a gaping hole torn in one side. All around the, various relics and remnants of space junk filled the chamber, but each was still clearly made now of the same black metal that comprised the asteroid.

Riccio landed first, just ahead of Jazz, with an electrical crash that send a pulse through the ground and a hum through the air. His spines glowed and sparked as it became clear that the pulse of light running through the cavern was originating from the beast himself. A static snarl reverberated through the space as Jazz landed a moment later and pulled the trigger.

The beast moved, his form crackling and partially distending into electric light as he darted across the space at an angle to Jazz but moving closer. Jazz tracked with the sudden shift, a stream of bullet scattering in an arc as he followed the beast and plugged the majority of his shots into the electrified form despite Riccio's sudden movement. As the weapon ran dry, the beast zapped back in the other direction, closing the distance to Jazz until they were almost face to face, but for a few feet. Each time he shifted with that lighting speed, some of the ice coating his form broke away, and now he stood before the furry intruder in his home, massive by comparison and standing proud as he released another ear-splitting howl.

Jazz's next attack came at it full force, and Riccio shifted, partially crouching with one foreleg and lowering his head, before throwing it back as the first log cracked across it; the log was flung away, seemingly deflected, but Jazz was sharp enough to see the signs of a genuine impact that dulled the panels beneath the beast. The second log came a moment later, and though it wasn't quite as accurate as the first, Riccio leapt to one side instead, avoiding the attempt anyway.

He shook himself, hindered by the ice, and a low, angered growl that sounded more like a connection error tone, magnified a thousand times echoed out from him before he stamped at the ground, flexing his claws and sinking them into the metal. When he stood straight this time, bracing his massive form, lighting crackled fresh over his body and a shock-wave of raw force pulsed out from the beast, shattering away the last of the ice in a blast of static, but Jazz was already making use of the moment; Riccio's form was still and exposed and the perfect target for his next bomb – though the hare was forced to back up an extra step to make sure he didn't put himself in blast as well. This explosion ripped across Riccio's form, and though it didn't seem to have too much real impact on the beast, smouldering embers remained lodged and burning within his nest of quills after the smoke cleared.

Jazz didn't flinch once as the beast postured, it's growls and roars, the static clinging to his fur and the pricks across his body as he continued to move. His body was getting used to this kind of treatment, this kind of movement as it instinctively began to move. Shadows wrapping around his body as Stephine had sent more chip data, his eyes glowing dimly in the low light. Stars and constalations beginning to wrap around his body, even as he moved, they moved with him. And with it, his voice began to sound across the terrain as the beat, the song, in his head continued on despite...or perhaps...in spite of the beast's posturing. Lyrics coming out in a hushed, harsh, whisper to the beast even as it echoed across the mostly empty cavern.

Salt of the earth salting your own fields,
Road to destruction this true and tried,
You walk the path laid before you,
The call of reason, you refuse to abide,

As he sung aloud, his darkened body began to slowly wreath itself in another familiar green glow ahead of the beast, his form slowly coming into view for the beady eyed menace as the song began to pick up in tempo, the song's voice through Jazz's mouth as it's tone continued on, the low rumbling tone, the almost quiet rock song leading to a shade of Jazz's former self towering above him. The hare looking almost nonchalant as he brought his foot forward, twisting to the side as the figure continued to loom above him wordlessly, matted green fur stained with dried, copper red blood and white patches of snow clinging helplessly to the abomidable form.

Necessity is an in-ventive moth-er,
Promising sanctum She cannot provide,

As the words left his mouth, Jazz summoned another pair of hardened cyberwood logs next to either side of him. His hands reaching to either side to swiftly pick them up from their tops, grasping firmly, almost to the point the beast could see flashes of red from his fingers as he held them that tight in his grasp. Flinging one up into the air, arm held up with his fingers and palm stretched wide, Jazz quickly kicked the underside of the other log up, letting go of it briefly, before striking it hard with the palm of his hand. The log flying towards the beast with a resounding crack, whistling through the air before seemlessly rolling across the ground as it should. Within seconds, the other log was coming down and Jazz hiked his leg up behind him, flipping the log back around to his front and with it, the same foot cracking the log again towards the beast like it was a ball, causing the log to roll across the ground just the same with untold ferocity, all while Jazz continued to sing, beat beginning to drop as it continued, a low rumble in the caves as it echoed about.

She is the hand, that rocks the cradle,
The wind that breaks the bough AND LEAVES YOU TO DIE!

At that last quintet of words, the beat dropped even harder, Jazz summoning a pair of simple hilts into his hands, the sound of a slight buzzing sound as a pair of short blades began to come out, their glow illuminating the dimly lit caverns he found himself fighting Riccio in. Unflinching in whatever the beast had done or was trying to do, a glint of white teeth as Jazz gave the beast an unnerving grin, as he rushed towards the beast with buzzing blades in hand, just barely keeping them from scraping the terrain below. Reaching his quarry, the almost psychotic looking hare began to swing towards the beast, caring not for wheather he could reach or not, he brought his blade to try and bear itself against the beast's hide in it's entirety, attempting to rake the blade across it's side horizontally. His other blade, however, swiftly came across the back of his hand as it flipped from his grasp from the first swipe, the hare grasping it as the blade bared itself downwards in the seconds it had slipped from his grasp, before he did the same as before, sending the blade upwards in a diagonal pattern in an attempt to slice away parts of the beast's coding for his manic tirade against it.

Facing off, Jazz nevertheless had a song on his lips to face down the beast's static snarls as it postured at him. Riccio's claws dug in and his body phased forward, becoming a storm of blistering electricity that raked through Jazz's position but once again, and the beast slowed and caught itself against the far side of the humming chamber, ready to lunge at him again, Jazz remained unharmed; at the last moment, his form shadowed into darkness and stars, leaving the beast's attack to pass through him without effect.

Still singing and drawing up the energy he'd need to exploit the great beast's weakness, Jazz was able to turn with the creature, the spectre of past lives adding presence to the next attacks he prepared. Riccio lunged but despite the difficulty of aiming in his current state, the broad attacks crashed one after another into the violent beast's attack, shattering across his head and body and cutting the lunge short. Riccio's claws sank into the metal, dragging deep, golden gouges in the black that sparked with light as he was driven back. As the grinding and screeching of torn magnet slowed, Riccio lifted one claw and stamped down, taking his footing again. A volley of dark spines shot forward as he did, sending a pin-cushioning barrage of black metal back towards Jazz, but though the are around him was hammered by the clatter of piercing quills and Jazz himself was riddled by several of them, his defence held him safe.

There was a moment of stillness as the air hummed and crackled with ozone in the wide cavern, and the metallic protrusions and shapes cast distorted shadows about the space; Rioccio held steady for a moment longer, watching Jazz, his black eyes alight with arcing bolts of lightning snapping across them; the toxic acid and smouldering embers that clung to him continued to hamper the beast, but he flexed his claws and gave a shorter, more resonate bark of sound; his spines crackled with light and the stretch of destroyed black magnet between them healed, filling in with a lacework of intricate golden circuitry before the black metal unfolded, block by block, to patch up the damage. The beast seemed... more cautious now, or perhaps waiting.

Despite this, Jazz wasn't letting him have time to think too much and came on, blades swinging. Riccio's body began to glow, his quills crackling as the golden lines that covered him crackled brighter and brighter. The beast jumped back, repositioning as Jazz attacked; not fast enough to evade the hare's swinging blade, but in amongst the pair of rapid strikes that he cut in with, the beast was watching him, light growing and charging while he focused on the small, intangible threat that had come into his home...

The hare kicked away for a moment, sliding to a stop as the beast did the same...but it stood there, watching him...waiting for the right moment to strike. Even as the poison and embers licked at the beast's data, it stood there and began to charge up energy. It was preparing for something...preparing to strike him as soon as his shadows dipped away...even as the song on his lips continued, Jazz became heasatent to strike for a moment. The beast was getting cautious about him, it was brought into a corner thanks to him and it was already starting to flag on the health front, but...he couldn't let up, now could he?

And there She leaves you to die!

His song continue on, his voice growing in volume as it did. His blades in hand, Jazz rushed the beast in no short order. Feet crossing the path laid before him, the hare rushed across the paneling in front of him, ceaseless in his persuit of power, he quickly went straight for the beast's face with no heed for his own safety, knowing the beast could not touch him. Arms back behind him as he rushed the gigantic creature, his blades laving a pale green trail behind him as he reajusted the grip on his weapons on the fly as he closed the distance between him and the beast. As soon as he was within striking distance, Jazz quickly lashed out with a swift slash across the beast's mouth with one of his blades, attempting to bury the blow deep into the sensitive part of the beast. And with a second swing of this blade, Jazz quickly brought his arm low like an uppercut, his blade quickly attempting to bury itself deep in the jaw of the beast, attempting to pierce through into the softest part of it's jaw, though weather or not the attack succeeded the blade cracked and fell off at the hilt, energy drained and completely useless as he tossed the bladeless hilt away to the side.

And there She leaves you to die!

But he had a second blade to strike with, using his freed up hand to redouble the grip his weapon. His body shifting towards the beast's side, his motions attempting to get as close as he could to it without a second thought, Jazz leaped into the air as soon as he was sufficently sure of his position. The hare baring the dagger in both hands as he fell towards the beast's great body and thrust downwards towards it's face...and aimed to wrench the dagger deep inside it's beady black eye, attempting to blind the beast at least a little bit. Even if the dagger missed, he wouldn't try it again for the time being...and if it did manage to wrench itself into the beast's eye, he'd quickly let go, hopping away and letting his weapon stay buried inside for the time being.

Jazz slipped back, music going quiet in his head, the lyrics doing just the same as he began to gather power. Whisps of crimson beginning to wrap around his body as Jazz tapped into his cross routines, arms brought out widely as his fingers began to stretch upwards and his palm began to droop inwards, mimicing the shape of a cup of sorts. Hope you beasts are watching... He muttered as he began to draw more and more power into himself, Prose's cross beginning to materialize along his shadowy body. Lighter colorations of the hare's form beginning to slip along his bodysuit, an eggshell white peeking through the shadows, as his shoulders and arms began to be covered by a crimson colored jacket, bigger than he was wide and tall, tails to either side of the jacket unfurling and floating just above the paneling behind the hare. If Riccio could see through the shadows and darkness of it's home, it could see little pinpricks of light on either shoulder of Jazz's as he stepped forwards, one foot in front of the other as knee length boots the same color of his jacket materialized, a small metal plate where the toes would be contained wrapping around, as his hands quickly took on a pair of elbow length gloves the same eggshell white as his suit. Small plates finding themselves on his knuckles and around the top of his fingers in sections to provide proper flexibility, all the while Jazz's eyes took on a light, almost electrical crimson glow as he stood down the beast, small wings flaring up from his back as they flapped slowly behind him in easily identifiable "frames". Because we're not as weak as you make us out to be... He muttered again, a slight static tinge to his voice.

As his body finished the transformation, even if he could feel himself more drawn to Riccio in his cross with Prose, he kept his wits about him all the same. His shadow would fade soon and he'd need a way to prevent himself from getting hit by the beast's attacks for a few moments. Inhaling deeply, Jazz closed his eyes and began to materialize his defenses. Hands outstretched and a crackling of crimson electricity wrapping about his body, his form would find itself completely wrapped in a static barrier whilst his coat wrapped around his body like armor, hardening but keeping him mobile all the same, as a transparent shield found itself resting in his hand and finding himself gripping it tightly between his fingers. Bring it on hedgie, I won't stop until I take your power for my own...

Opposite him in the shadow-flickering cavern, the huge beast set itself, watching Jazz weave in front of it. Riccio's claws dug through the black metal while to glow surrounding him grew to a brilliant, fierce crackle that downed out the pulsing glow of the the chamber's circuitry. When Jazz lunged in the first time, still singing, the beast twisted his head and shoulder to one side and seemed to flex its whole body.

Just as the first sweep of his blade struck across Riccio's head and neck, Jazz's vision was obliterated in a sensory white-out of flaring lighting. The whole chamber seemed to explode in one great blast of saturated lighting, robbing him momentarily of his senses. Fortunately, for the hare, even though Riccio had waited until the exact moment that he struck to deliver its counterblast, Jazz's shadowed form remained safe through the all-consuming assault, and he felt his follow up cut deep a second time even as the storm flooded past him.

The light level dropped back to the pulsing golden circuit glow from the threads that laced through the inner cavern and gave shape and form to the objects formed out of the black metal; rapidly, his senses returned – the smell of dense ozone and an infuriated roar of bestial static interference were the main contenders for his attention, but Jazz wasn't put off. As he shifted around, Riccio strafed with him, jumping and shifting as it looked for an opening. The black depths of its eyes were trying to work out how to deal with the resilient intruder, while the lingering embers and poisons ate notches into his quills.

With a swift motion, the beast feinted and spun about, sweeping his body around and leaping back, halfway up the wall of the cavern. Trials of golden light circuit stretched behind him form each claw, still anchored to the ground, and he only left Jazz alone for an instant. His claws dug in, pulling a large, blocky chunk of metal from the wall that was shaped vaguely like part of an old space ship. The golden lines parted and filtered away, leaving just dense black metal, while the ones tethering his body to the ground sparked and strained. In one fluid motion, Riccio snapped back down again, flipping over in the air as he attempted to drive the massive chunk of his lair into Jazz's small form with a thunderous impact. Yet again, however, the attack failed break through his shadows.

The beast flipped free from its shattering pile-driver, landing on Jazz's opposite side, but even as it set itself Jazz sprang in, seeking the beast's face again, this time with more precise intent. The creature's eye was easily as big as Jazz's whole torso, but as he drew close and struck at it, he came to realise that it was more then just a regular black eyeball. There was a surface to it, but his blade passed in ,then his wrist and his whole arm. He couldn't see where he was striking, past the eye's surface; it was just black, with a storm of golden lightning tracing and flickering though it, more like an expansive empty space than single object. His arm began to feel shocked and numb before he finished the strike, despite his protections, and a creeping sense of something else brushed against his awareness.

Riccio howled, flinching all the same and wrenching his head away as he spun to one side, getting clear of the strike. The feeling receded form his arm, but a glance showed faint trails of creeping gold, running up his fingers and wrist, like encroaching circuits on his body. Riccio continued to thrash, shaking his head back and force and filling the area with further reverberating static echoes and ear-splitting interference noises. Jazz no longer held the blade; somewhere in the exchange his grip had lost it, presumably leaving the woody irritant within the beast.

While the beast recovered its composure slowly, Jazz took the opportunity to reach out to a different kind of power, invoking his bond with Prose as the last vestiges of his shadows began to wear off. If he'd been hoping fro some kind of recognition from Riccio, this particular beast seemed focused only on the intrusion into his home and turned back to face Jazz with a fresh glower; it seemed to be favouring one side of its head now, a slight squint, perhaps, or some distraction hampering it, but even so, as Jazz took his new stance the beast jumped and stamped its claws, then reared up on its hind legs with a screech that made all of the golden circuit lines in the cavern pulse brightly in unison.

As its claws came up, the golden lines sparked and tore free of the black metal that they grew through, beginning to fill the chamber with thin threads in angled, geometric patterns. Al at once, Riccio slammed his claws down again, practically leaping forward as he hammered in towards Jazz. In response, every circuit thread lashed down and inwards, latticing the chamber and everything in it with slashing, cutting lines of razor metal and electricity.

The dense assault of cutting lashes was hard to avoid, but even though this latest test by the beast would almost certainly have managed to dispel the final remnants of Jazz's shadow protect, if it hadn' run its course on its own, the hare was already putting up a fresh line of defence. Several of the golden threads slashed across the new barrier that formed around him, weakening it, though it held together, for now and left the pair facing off again a short distance from one another across the middle of the central cavern. Riccio huffed an electronic growl; he was definitely showing wear now, and the damage done to his body seemed to be wearing the beast down.

(Terrain directly under Riccio is dull, as is a similar section right beside him, where he was at the first knife strike)

Terrain looks like a large, spacious cavern at this point - though details are hard to make out at the moment. The space is lit by an electric glow, coming mostly from Riccio, but also from the lacing of golden circuitry that runs through the whole area, creating an eerie pulsing effect.

Black Magnet: Magnet surface created exclusively by Riccio, the solitary thunder. Acts in all ways like normal magnet terrain, with the exception that it cannot be burrowed into, even by elec types. It also resists terrain changes, and has one instance of terrain protection, which is consumed the first time a panel would otherwise change.

Jazz had managed to hold his ground against the beast for the time being, even as his shadowy protections had faded, his barrier and defenses held for the time being despite the beast's lashing out, threads of gold smashing against him as it howled in pain. Even as he began to feel an impatient tug at him...he couldn't shake the feeling of what he felt deep inside the beast's eye...even as he flexed his hand, he still couldn't shake the feeling of numbness...the feeling of...something else reaching up to him...his hand, his wrist still covered in the encroaching golden threads that had attacked him...a curious, but...not altogether unfamiliar feeling from being around Prose and, to a much lesser extent, Asteca from his excursion in the chaos nets earlier.

Flexing his fingers all the same, the wings on his back continuing to slowly flap disjointedly, not dissimilar to a lag spike in a game, Jazz quickly refreshed his shadowy disguise from his signature routines. His body quickly taking on the same darkness that permiated the outside of Riccio's home...even as this happened, the crimson from his outfit tinged him that same color, a deep dark redness wrapping around his form...up until his hand, his wrist taking on a deep golden color, copper tones invading on the electrified form of his hand as he finished. Flexing his now golden hand, holding tight to the shield in his other, Jazz was slightly bemused...and concerned, from the deep glowing rubies for his eyes expressing it from his now featureless face. I can't slow down...I need to keep up my offense...I...I can't falter. He thought to himself, his now golden fingers clenching into a balled up fist as he stared down the beast ahead of him, a deep glare on his face as he began to walk towards it.

I gave you an out, Riccio. I gave you a chance to simply give me your power and be done with it. But look at your home...It's going to be your gods damned tomb when I'm done with you. Your power, your form, I will take so I can be stronger, so I may use it for the net as a whole.

your sacrifice will be greatly appreciated in the long-term.
He spoke, simply and coldly as he punctuated the end of his speech, gesturing at the insides of the beast's golden tinged den, hands spread as he did before quickly balling back into a fist, wings glowing a faint crimson as he stepped forwards. His gaze not faltering from the beast's as he began to move faster...his hand beginning to glow with a great power, the golden digits crackling as they began to hold power deeply inside them. Swiftly, he fiented around to the left of the beast and tried to stay in it's semi-blindspot he had made. Fist growing as the power coallessed into it, a leafy green glow wrapping up along his forearm as he reared it back behind his head. The glowing fist grew and grew until it had become thrice it's original size, metal and rock flowing from the area around him as he took his aim with where he wanted his fist to fly...and suddenly launched his fist towards the beast's side, spikes along the knuckles as he practically flew at the beast in his power-trip, crimson jets of sparking energy flying off the ends as it crashed into something solid, disengaging from the hare's system almost as suddenly as he had flown towards the beast.

Electrifying hisses cuminated around the hellbent hare, his shadows flickering and gliching as he continued his assult on the beast whom he had chosen to sacrifice for his own power trip, for his own willingness to delve back into who he was fourty years ago. Shadows and shades warping, twisting around him as the crimson wings on his back flickered dimly behind him, scant little illumination he was given in the face of the beast's own electrifying power. Hands reaching towards his side, shield grasped firmly in one as a sword and sheath began to materialize on his side, the hare's free hand reaching for the hilt in a slow, methodical fashion as he slipped back into his own madness. Savoring the moment, crimson flecks of energy pouring off the weapon to his side as he grasped it's sword hilt firmly and, with a flick of his wrist, drew the weapon out like a flash of light. The sword itself nonexistant as he had drawn it, but instead a crimson, golden green amalgamated flash of energy was sent flying towards the beast in that moment, attempting to cut through more of it's data protections and weaken it even further in his silent rage at the formerly rampaging monstrosity.

But while the sheath had disappeared, the hilt remained. A flash of crimson, gold and green flooding through the blade as Jazz rushed forwards at the beast again, oblivious to it's rampaging, it's pain. He continued to press his advantage he had prepared in advance. While his wood chips were few and somewhat weak in the end, his null chips...were far more neumerous, more powerful than he could have hoped to get his hands on fourty years ago. And all the same, his power, while it was weaker than then, he could morph it into whatever shape he willed it so long as he could control it in the end. He would rip the beast apart and take what he needed to supplement his own power. And to that end, the hare rushed forward and jumped towards it's body, unafraid of it's own power as he knew it was helpless while he was cloaked in shadows like this. And he swung with all his might towards it's body, the tri-colored blade attempting to bite deep into it's body and send it's energies back into him to reinforce his own vitality before landing, jumping backwards to get a little distance for his next strike.

And to that end, the hilt of the sword began to droop downwards...it's hardened material becoming soft and fluffy between his fingers, spreading outwards and forwards...the shape of a pillow...right, he fought those Chaos Snoozies in his mission while running from Asteca, this was what he had gotten from escaping from her grasp...well, beggars can't be choosers if you had a beast to slay, right? To that end, Jazz infused the pillow with some of the energy that he had been gathering...and to that end, no less, a trio of Crimson, Gold and Green began to flood through the dark piece of floof and cloth in his hand, grasping it tightly between his fingers at the corner, Jazz quickly pushed his attack again, swinging the "weapon" in his hand upwards as he jumped, aiming for the beast's face this time around, as he swung downwards with a single stroke like a blade, attempting to batter the beast's senses around and make it fall asleep briefly, if nothing else...

Even damaged as the beast before him was, Riccio didn't seem to be slowing down. If anything the beast's more careful stance was rapidly trying to pick the moments when Jazz was vulnerable now. The static in the air hummed with energy and it lunged forward again, phasing in rapid dashes around the space junk and littered rubble that obscured the field as it blasted through Jazz's position in a stretched out streaking crackling lightning and metal. The assault as the beast's form passed through him again was numbing and drowned out most of his senses in a static overload, however briefly. Without the buffer of an intangible body, the sensation was very nearly overwhelming, but his defences held off most of the hailstorm of strikes, and a moment later the hare was able to refresh the well of shadow and intangibility that protected him from the creature's other efforts.

As the beast skidded to a screeching stop, its form taking full shape again and spinning as it continued to face Jazz, the intrepid hare had in turn become a mote of darkness, with a crimson glow at its core. As he formed his weapon, Riccio crashed forward, rearing back and raising one of his forepaws that filled with a brilliant, blinding light. It slammed down, with a crash the exploded sparks in every direction, but Jazz moved in beneath it, around the brunt of the primary strike and letting his shadowed body ignore the radiating fall-off of lightning. The asteroid rocked and shifted, the internal gravity beginning to spin but Jazz was already close enough to counter with a vicious, impacting blow that caught the beast broadside with enough force to crumpling a section of its body and lift it bodily off the ground.

As big as he was, the blow threw Riccio away from the centre of the chamber with a static crash of sound that could only be identified as pained and shocked. As the gravity came unstuck, Riccio travelled back to an outer edge and crashed against the wall with another ripple of sparks. All around him, the black magnet twisted and shifted, folding away in geometric shapes and patters, while the golden threads of circuitry caught the beast, then rand outwards, ahead of the changes to cut the path for the re-configuring metal.

All around, the asteroid twisted and began to open up. Holes bloomed all over the inner cavern, showing views of stars and space beyond, latticed with golden threads. Jazz found himself losing grip on the ground, and had to kick off some of the metal debris to chase after Riccio, tri-coloured edge ready to strike. Riccio Sprang as well, gathering himself then launching off the upper edge of the chamber, back towards Jazz. They met in open space, and though Jazz's form was intangible enough to avoid the damage that Riccio sought to deliver, the presence of the beast was nevertheless enough to drive him back towards the centre of the asteroid. Jazz struck twice, connecting with two more powerful strikes that bit into the creature, and he felt another brush of sensation as more of its essence transferred back to him; a sense of certainty, and of pride; a sense of absolute belonging, all codified in electrical impulse and rigid order; lines and angles forming patterns and shapes, forming a picture of truth that was here and now and always.

In an instant the impression passed, as Riccio moved past Jazz, kicking away from him to turn mid transit and land with a crash against the opposite interior wall. It had left Jazz spinning in the reduced gravity, but all a round the hare could see more and more of the asteroid opening up geometric holes in its structure, turning itself bit by bit into an intricate, hollowed out prism made of connecting black metal struts with every hole holding a spiderweb mesh of golden circuit wire. The entire asteroid crackled with electricity.

All at once Riccio roared again and the metal threads exploded with light, injecting bolts of lightning inwards from every mesh and filling the inner space with a solid barrage of energy that swelled and blossomed, filling the asteroid to its rim. In the middle of it all, Jazz was blinded and deafened, but the sense was muffled from beyond his shadowed veil and he felt no pain. Instead, the hare found Riccio amidst the storm and lunged at the beast with his latest weapon, soft and fluffy though it be.

From out of the blinding light, Jazz emerged, belting the posing beast across the face with his pillow and staggering it to one side. The damage he had dealt to its body was building up now, and though most of the major impacts visibly seemed to re-orgnaise and repair themselves to some degree, he could tell that the creature wasn't actually healing, and that it was very close to running out of energy, now. It shook its head, trying to focus on Jazz and stumbled in place, unsteady. Putting a beast this powerful to sleep with a single chip might be a stretch, no matter how strong, but Riccio seemed to be struggling to shrug it off entirely, and a grogginess made his movement sluggish. All around them, the asteroid dimmed again, the storm of lighting ended. Slowly, in a progressive bloom, it began to unfold metal sections to return to its original shape, though it seemed like it would take some time – maybe Riccio's own muzziness was having an impact.

The interior cavern is largely open space now, and the exterior sides still leave many clear openings out to the surface of the asteroid instead – it still more resembles moving around on a gigantic, hollowed out 3d geometric prism with hundreds of facets, and most of the faces still hollow, although it is slowly closing itself up now.

As long as he is moving in a controlled way from one section of black magnet to another, Riccio does not suffer this penalty.
Mania. That single word described himself forty years prior.

Once upon a time, Jazz was manic. He slipped deep into the struggles of greater and greater power...and now he began to slip into it again in an attempt to keep himself in check, even with the advancements that the net and society itself had made in these four decades, it was unsure what kind of destruction he could cause in his wake. Even as those thoughts flashed through his head, the idea he was gathering power again...the idea he might become what he was...Was I the one controlling the body? Was...I the one...who caused that destruction? Did I steal his memories when I escaped? flew through his mind as his eyes began to bleed...his mind's eye, his own eyes beginning to leak a deep, sticky crimson onto the paneling below, staining the eggshell white that his bodysuit had become with that same crimson that clung to his body...a dark pink staining it in multiple places as he moved. Even if he had not noticed it, the gold from his attack at Riccio earlier still clung to his forearm, the hare leaving striking golden trails as he flew.

Globs of his blood floating freely from his body as he jumped from his position and flew towards the cybeast, his hand reared back as he began to see clearer in the crimson that stained his vision, cutting through the darkness that encapsulated his eyesight just a moment previous. Even as his mind raced at a hundred miles per hour, his pupils darting to and fro in his head beneath a film of crimson. His wings flapping more in time with the world around him, frames beginning to blend together in a quicker manner, almost looking like an amateurish animation as he attempted to get within the beast's pervew, shadows slowly slinking away from his form as he brought the pillow down, hopefully upon the beast's face, a crunching sound echoing weakly from within, wooden needles poking through the soft fabric and fluff this time, crimson and gold . The hare would quickly capitalize on the attack again, this time as he hopped into the air, twirling about from his kickoff point, body twisting through the ether as he attempted to follow the beast's movements...and slam that pillow down a third time onto it's face, which upon impact with whatever that it hit, would explode outwards from it's point of impact and little wooden needles and fluff would begin to float through the area of it's impact, even as the battlefield continuously turned about like a dice rolling about. I'm a bad person for having fought Riccio like this... Echoed through his head, guilt beginning to tug at him...but the battle was nearly finished...and he didn't leave a job unfinished if he could help it.

Tapping into his signature processors, Jazz hopped backwards briefly as he began to split into multiple clones of himself, each Jazz landing in unison as the clones flickered between tangibility and intangibility. Words left unspoken as Jazz and his trio of clones lifted their knives up, one or two in each hand, the navi and his posse would take a quick, loose, aim at the giant flagging beast. Weather it managed to stay awake or not, it would wind up with a sextet of razor sharp knives flying through the air, attempting to embed themselves into it's hide...even as the hares had attacked, more pings of guilt running through the quartet before the trio of clones disappeared, knives hopefully having embedded themselves in the beast's body.

Just let this end quickly...I...I need to end this soon... He murrmured to himself as chip data embedded itself in his body again, the hare closing his eyes and inhaling deeply as he materialized the weapon that would pelt Riccio with...a battered and beaten tommy gun, almost twice the size that Jazz was used to...rust covering the barrel and body of the weapon as he loaded in a drum of wood-alligned ammo into the weapon, each tipped with petrified wood and ready to fire on his command. Leveling the weapon, a golden sheen beginning to take over the weapon before tightly gripping it in both hands...and depressing the trigger, the navi sending out a veritable hail of shots at the large creature, even as he tried to hold it steady, the shots would likely go wide and bounce off the reflective surfaces of the cave, an echoing RATATATATATATATATATA sound coming from the weapon before it emptied it's clip...and the hare discarding the weapon entirely, letting it break away into junk for later use, before quickly bringing a reflective shield outwards towards the beast, rubber insulating the inside whilst the outer material would gleem in the low light. Lets end this fight, big guy. I'll give you a proper death, no joking on you...but your power...I need your power...to prevent history from repeating...

Jazz got his bearings in the now weightless space as across from him the great beast wavered. It was perched on the inside edge of the slowly reforming prism, and after fixing Jazz with a glare that it was struggling to keep focused, the beast launched itself back towards him, a fresh meteor of electricity, blazing through the empty space between. Jazz met Riccio head on, striking back as they crossed paths in the centre of the hollow space; a crunch of impact as his attack struck while Riccio failed to connect in turn.

By the time Jazz touched down on the far side, the metal under his feet was shifting into new shapes. It wasn't simply recovering and filling in the wire-frame shape of the asteroid, but each facet now seemed to be growing inward in uniform steps of black metal blocks, led my golden circuit lines. Each section was forming inward-facing spires as the view of space and starlight grew smaller and smaller. Across from him, Riccio drifted slightly, scrabbling to catch his magnetic landing point with faltering claws as his reflexes seemed to slow further. Where his steps faltered, the network of golden threads laced across the gap to support the beast, but even so, he was definitely slowing.

Step by step, the inward-facing spires blotted out the stars, gradually returning the space where the pair battled to a contrast of darkness and glowing light. Jazz kicked off again and riccio responded, leaping back at him with another reverberating roar. The beast was slow, slower than Jazz, and though he crossed by the hare in another violent explosion of force and energy, he seemed to have forgotten that Jazz's shadowed form was still difficult to harm. The pillow crashed in a third time, scattering a minefield of wooden shrapnel across the centre of the asteroid's interior space, and as the navigator touched down on one of the opposite pyramid shapes, Riccio turned over in the air, floating off course and failing to correct. The beast had curled in on himself slightly as he lost momentum, drifting now just near the inner edge without landing properly.

The darkness became more complete, lit only now by Riccio's own soft electric glow, and the golden circuit light that laced the metal without throwing off any illumination of its own. In the network of line,s Jazz could see that every facet had sealed in, forming stepped pyramids that pressed into the internal space of the asteroid. Each one was extending a further pointed spire of metal that in turn began to branch out in symmetrical directions, stretching to meet up with others; the amount of open space was rapidly disappearing as the forest of magnetic spines grew and filled the space from every side. Around Riccio, a mass of the same golden circuit wires formed up then rose, beginning to create an angular prism about him, almost like a cocoon. The beast was momentarily asleep.

Before the shell could form completely, however, Jazz capitalised on the creature's vulnerability, splitting into a variety of clones that each threw attacks at the dozing beast. Each hit, digging in deeply all around Riccio's body, and he awoke again with a roar that echoed off the nest of metal spines and seemed to amplify to a painful screech of static noise. His quills bristled as the last of the internal space became obstructed by the inward-piercing mesh of magnetic spines. They began to spark, leaving Jazz with nowhere safe to stand amidst it all, and precious little space to move, despite his small size. He had one more weapon, but even as he readied it to fire, the clinging threads of gold that remained with him responded, reaching through the machine gun and casting a backlash through Jazz's mind; it wasn't painful, not exactly, but as he began to fire the gun, there was a sense of knowing, and of oneness to everything that was happening.

He felt, more than saw, Riccio leap forward trough the forest of spines; felt them fold back for him and snap back into place behind. Riccio was the creature, but it was also the lightning, and the circuits; it was the magnets and the metal, and the asteroid itself; it was Jazz, in this moment, and Jazz was it. Jazz felt, more than saw, the beast land across from him, supported amongst the spines of gold and black, and saw them open in an unfolding spiral to allow the two of them to see one another clearly. They roared, and a cavalcade of lightning bolts launched themselves through the chamber, diving and jumping, reflecting and ricocheting in every direction. They fired their weapon too; a drowning burst of golden threads, flecked with a green energy that empowered them further, darting through the space in tandem. Jazz felt the lightning strike him, multiple times, from different angles, scoring in where his shadows had begun to fail. He felt the golden threads imbued with that painful green energy striking in as well, rattling across his spines and through the rest of his body.

Then, silence. They took a long breath and exhaled it in a sigh and staticy growl; their eyes were locked, and try as he might, Jazz couldn't avert them; the empty black darkness of Riccio's gaze was still shot through with intermittent lightning flares, somewhere within the void of his being. But as the two creatures were held for a moment in the centre of the asteroid, the long sigh became a sense of relaxing. Golden circuit lines covered the hare's body and began to sink in, disappearing from sight. As they did, the body of the beast, still watching him with a gaze that was hard to break, collapsed into the holding embrace of the black magnet, and swiftly sank into it, dissolving away.

The asteroid trembled, and the claustrophobia of the space he was locked in became all the more pointed as the spines began to shift and branch and grow further, filling in what little room to manoeuvre remained. In a second, his arms and legs were pinned, held still by extensions of solid black magnet; there was no where to move, nothing to breath, no space at all; the asteroid was absorbing him. And then a sense of piercing; spines thudded into him across his body, and grew through. It should have hurt; it wasn't comfortable, but it should have hurt, and it didn't. The sense of Riccio's being swelled up underneath his own senses, and Jazz felt himself blacking out.

Jazz finds himself back on the smooth surface of the asteroid.

Spoils: Riccio BeastOut, 20FXP with his own inner traumas.

Sense returned. Cold harness, a flat surface. Once he opened his eyes again, Jazz would find himself on a smooth plane of black magnet, with the stars of open space wheeling overhead slowly. He was on the surface of the asteroid, reformed and looking just as it had when he first approached, only something was different now.

The sense of life and power was here, but he could feel it, close and connected to his being. Faintly, he could sense the whole structure, and every tunnel and passageway that ran through it. Riccio, the great beast, the solitary thunder, was not here... but he was as well. He was here, and he always would be; that much came to jazz as a certainty, almost like a voice in the back of his mind telling him, but without words. He could feel a thread of the creature's power within him, responding to the land mass beneath him even as it strained to rework Jazz's body to its own preference, but the spark was answered by a greater presence that existed within the very metal and circuitry of the asteroid itself. This was his Home; This was absolute, and eternal. Riccio was not here right now, but he was always here, always would be, and Jazz was no longer welcome.
Jazz tried to scream out as the claustrophobic sphere that was the inside of Riccio's domain closed in around him...spines uncomfortably piercing through the whole of his body...the darkness that filled in around him and...the loss of consciousness as he was unceremoniously ejected from the inside of Riccio's domain. His body still...his form pulsing with energy, a deep golden glow invading the whole of his being from the outside in. His form quivered outside the asteroid that was Riccio's home, laying upon the cold meteorite that was cought within it's pull as his eyes opened...deep black spheres within the hare's head.

A groan reverberating through him as his cross with Prose began to fade away from his form, leaving the navi completely naked from head to toe. The golden threads that had clung to his forearm had only begun to stretch out across his body. The hare's fur quickly flattening out like plates of metal, green hues quickly turning to darkened greys and with it, the hare began to scramble to his feet, watching it all unfold without a chance to stop it. Within he could feel the beastial power of Riccio begin to take hold, a fragment spreading through the whole of his unstable data. Gold hues creeping across his body as a metal plate formed around his mouth like a mask, silencing the hare before he could scream.

As the transformation took place, Stephine began to shout and try to jack Jazz out of the network to no avail, her PET quickly going to a "maintenence" mode as data began to shuffle through the network and into it like a common transferrence of data. The hare's form quickly overtaken by bright golds flooding through his body and blacks sepperating the "plates" that began to form across his body, as where things started and ended were capped off by these black lines of the darkest reaches of the net. Data flooded through his body as across his shoulders and at the very tops of his thighs, Jazz could feel straps of purest steel wire form along them and tightly force themselves along him so he could never take them off. A curvature of plating began to come outwards from those wires, big enough to completely cover his back and then some as it curved at each end, just past the back of his neck and tail. Golden spikes tipped with crimson-colored tips sprouting from this steel plating, sharper and almost as durable as the beast's, jagged edges on either side of the spike to hammer the point home that, unlike the beast, the form he was taking would in some respects be better than it, running less on instinct and more on logic...

As this happened, the hare's feet began to contort, muffled screams coming from Jazz as tears ran down his face. Nails growing outwards, jagged tips and serraded blades replacing the hare's own nails, curving downwards towards the floor like scythed blades painfully attached to his form, rustic copper...almost crimson-like...coloration on each of the three scythed nails of each foot, plates of gold with black outlines forcing themselves onto each foot, each pad of his feet leaving behind an echoing thump of metal on the asteroid he stood on, stumbling about in pain. On that same note, his hands would face the same fate. Each of his finger's nails growing out to a good inch or so each, much like the nails on his feet, each with the same scythed curvature, the same serraded blades on the insides with the same copper-crimson coloring on the insides of each with gold and black on the outer parts.

As he fell to his hands and knees in pain, the body of the hare would take on a different transformation. Heavy plates of armor strapping themselves to his body from the shoulder, down to his stomach, a plate of rustic copper coloring to add coloration on the "behest" of what was taking over. Below that, a grey steel plate would drag downwards, forming along all sides of his lower half like a pair of pants. The liquid steel moving with Jazz no matter how he did, no matter how he thrashed in pain, they clung to his body tightly with few drops flinging their way off of his body. Then his ears...the once fluffy externals would quickly "melt" away into Jazz's head and in their place? A pair of conduction coils in brass would replace them. Like the Bunny viruses, Jazz's ears reached up to the skies and turned inwards behind themselves, hollow in the middle as they seared themselves into Jazz's skull with a hiss, the navi's screams even louder despite the plate across his mouth as he continued to thrash in pain. The armor across his body would provide one more unpleasant surprise for Jazz...wrapping around his arms came induction coils that seared away what little organic material that he had, brightly alit across his arms and bending as he moved them in his blinding pain, with bright flashes of light bringing the dark NAXA area of the net into the light with the singular navi that resided in this part of the network as spikes like the ones across his back shot through his knees and into the asteroid with such power, such force, it cracked the asteroid and sent spidery-lines through the rock and metal when he was forced back to his knees. And finally, the "mask" across his face had small cracks of black lines go through it, in all his pain, Jazz's voice could be heard as it happened, screaming out into the depths of space like an out of tune radio. The mask breaking apart...and revealing the hare's new mouth...jagged spikes of teeth and blood as he screeched into the air, radio waves being sent to all around with his screams of anguish and pain. While different from the beast's electric growls...the hare's voice was not too dissimilar to the beast's roar at the end of the day...and as he finally finished his transformation...Jazz could finally jack out...even though he did not turn to the beast's den...he could feel the bast's unwelcoming presence...and it's burning hatred for the hare.
