Jennings' General

The transit left Lyntael standing in a clear space that held a briefly metallic, static scent in her senses before fading to nothing. As she blinked and looked around, Lyntael paused and closed her eyes again; when she opened them, the oddity remained. The network space she'd been transported to looked mostly like general store, with rows of shelves and an aesthetic design that was intended to give navigators something tactile and real to interact with... but there was an element of glass-like transparency to all of it. From the doorway, she could see the shelves to her left, each with labels and product displays, but she could also see the shelf behind the products, and then the next shelf, on the opposite side of the aisle, with produces of its own.

Complex meshes of substructure ran through everything she could see here, as though it had all been reduced to structural shells and latices. The lack of opacity in anything was dizzying. On instinct, Lyntael looked down at herself and bit back a mortified squeak. Her own body had remained unaffected, save for a visible tracery of the electrical current running through her and suffusing her skin, somehow visible within her form; more problematic was the fact that she could see this, because her clothes had not been spared in the same way; the visible structure of her shoes and socks, her vest, skirt and even her underwear each did nothing to obscure what was beneath. She moved, on instinct, to cover herself and found herself pressing the real and tangible presence of her vest and skirt to her body in futility.

“Rogan! Sir, this is-” The first words came out in shrill panic before she tried to force a normal tone back to her voice. “This space wasn't intended for Navigators, I don't think, sir.” The realisation that she wasn't even going to be able to find anything to cover herself properly with, since everything in the space had the same lack of opacity, settled in gradually and she sighed, still holding one hand across her chest and pressing her thighs together for as long as she could reasonably keep it up. Rogan's voice answered a moment later.

“No, that's correct, but I've reviewed what I can and you should be safe. I can't maintain the visual feed directly where you are now, Lyntael, not and maintain my own dive. Are you able to progress and keep the mask in place?” There was no hint of any surprise or second-hand embarrassment in his voice, and the calm focus of it let her release a long breath and relax slightly. He wasn't watching. As it often did, the relief came with a niggling, thin worm of disappointment, sneaking in unbidden amongst her other feelings. She didn't want to be leered at, of course; she didn't... but it was hard to shoo away the thought that she might like it if he got a glimpse, by accident, and liked what he saw. There was something else too, that caused the small curl of a grin to sneak onto one corner of her lips. He didn't know, but she did; she could work like this, and talk to him like this, and he wouldn't know. The thought distracted her... why was that thought... interesting? Amusing? Exciting? There was no reason for it, but there it was all the same. She shook her head and tried to focus. This was not the time for distractions like that.

“Ah, sorry sir. Yes, I can. I think this is fine. Mask is in place, extenuation is minor. Minimal separation risk.” Why was her heart beating faster? Focus. She swallowed, pushing those thoughts aside further and tried to get her bearings.

Apart from the transparent store space she found herself in, Lyntael could see the rest of the closed network extending away from her position, almost like a wire-frame floor plan. There was too much detail to take in all at once, but one thing that caught her attention immediately was how far back and down the structure went. The surface level net, which she was sure this was a mirror of, only held the store itself, a back room, and a basement level. Here, she could see those, but the transparent, glowing structures continued down extra corridors, hidden behind supposedly bluff walls, or in one case a cold storage fridge, and travelled further into a much deeper network of rooms and halls.

She felt Rogan's dive begin to progress again, its presence in her mind shifting as it jumped from one connection to another through restricted links. Lyntael glanced down at her body again and forced her hands away in to a more relaxed position. There was nothing to be done about it, and it was time to move. Following her operator's direction, she moved around the front counter and into the store's back room, then reached towards the section of shelf that ought to lead into a new corridor. At first, she looked for a switch, or something to pull, but then a different thought struck her and she blinked, carefully peering through the different layers of objects to find the seam of the doorway, then traced it back to the mechanism, and finally to the actual exterior switch, hidden a few feet away, behind a different shelf. There was one benefit to the odd transparency, at least.

As the door slid open and Lyntael darted through into the hall beyond, it quickly led to a ladder, down, and then a broader corridor; there were no details for her to pick out here, at least not many, but it made the movement that caught her eye all the more pronounced. At the edges of the network space, the similarly transparent wireframes of viruses shifted; they didn't seem to be able to damage the network, like this, but had just passively saturated the place, as they did with everything in the lower networks. She wasn't sure if any of them had noticed her yet, but moved forward carefully anyway, keeping pace with Rogan's dive.

((Ready for Battle 3))
Unfortunately for Lyn, she was soon spotted by the same viruses that she had spotted at the far end of the corridor, a silent alarm beginning to sound off as her way back was closed off and to either side, she could see more wireframes of the viruses on the network beginning to close in from either side of the corridor. Unfortunately, her battle routines were locked in, as more and more viruses began to investigate the signal.

Though the corridor seemed somewhat limited in it's size, it would quickly expand to become a fairly sterile battlefield for her to fight in, as well as a quartet of wireframe rock cubes began to materialize across the field in a fairly loose, wide, diamond shape. Though she could see through them, the viruses in their wireframes would invade the field from the north, and though devoid of "solid" forms, they were no less deadly and likely susceptible to Lyntael's attacks as their forms and names began to pop up...a Heavier, Spooky, Sparkler and Cloudier began to encroach from the north, east and west of the field. And then came her quarry, the Handy, materializing on the rough middle of the field in all it's wireframe glory...and thankfully, they didn't exactly seem to care about Lyn's "predicament".

-- Viruses --
HeavierHeavier (Heavy)

Heavy viruses move slowly, and only dodge when they attack. When a Heavy attacks, it teleports to a position to the left or right of the intended target, and proceeds to try to ram the target with a quick sideways motion. The number of times it will consecutively attempt to ram the target before teleporting back to its starting position depends entirely on the number of actions the virus has. Teleporting before and after the attack do not require an action. Movement and attacking are one and the same to this virus, thus even a non-attack collision with it is damaging.

Lyntael's glance snapped around as the quarantine lock closed into place behind her, then back again as the effect seemed to draw attention from many of the nearby viruses. The immediate urge to cover herself again sprang forward in her mind, but she forced her hands to stillness; she couldn't fight like that, and the viruses she was seeing nearest didn't really seem like the kind to really understand her embarrassment anyway. Well... except the spooky... Lyntael grit her teeth and began to dart forward towards the nearby obstacles for cover – physical at least, if not visual.

As she moved, her skin began the ripple with light patterns dancing just beneath the surface and the air around her crackled as her charge stirred, rising in her chest and ready to burst outward at the first sign of danger. She still hadn't calmed down completely from the last scuffle, and the energy answered quickly, without any conscious thought from the girl. As she rushed towards the eastern cube, sliding in behind it, the static reverb tore at the air around her while her barrier formed, indiscriminately scouring at stone and any over-eager viruses alike.

“Rogan, wait! I think there's some sort of quarantine here. I don't think it saw me, exactly... It's for the main network... but it triggered automatically when the path was opened. I think it'll take a few moments to clear, and I can't progress until it does.” Crouching on one knee behind the rock, Lyntael looked through it to assess the rest of the field again. She couldn't exactly hide from them, in this state, but the stones were still tangible enough for cover. Looking out further, she could see more movement outside the passage walls – more things were being drawn in by the commotion, too. That was a problem.

“Understood. Mask integrity?” Rogan's voice answered her, calm and serious, and Lyntael drew a longer breath of her own, relaxing some of her own sudden tension.

“Stable, sir. Low chance of separation, but stable. The lock should clear automatically soon, and I'll be able to move as soon as it does. I've got some viruses that have noticed, sir, but I should be able to lose them once the lock clears.” Lyntael looked to each target she could while she answered, then nodded to herself. Extra explosives from the handy needed to be stopped early, but her gaze lingered for a moment on the ghost virus, a little further off. She'd had enough over the usually-lecherous spooky family, and their gross tongues. With a short breath to steady herself, the girl gripped the stone and vaulted over it into the centre of the space. She let her body turn over her hands while her charge surged in anticipation, one leading leg whipping forward and slamming out as she finished the flip.

Electricity rose through her, drawing in to unite before surging out again through her leading kick; she was still a distance from the handy in the centre, but as her foot cut towards the ground in front of her it drew a slicing arc of lighting that surged forward, cutting towards the giant hand with scything force before bursting with a flare of light. Sparks scattered out in all direction from the surge, but one particularly strong secondary arc lashed out towards the Spooky virus while the weight of the main charge spent itself in energetic bursting around her main target.

“Good. I can keep one eye on your position. We'll resume as soon as I see you move forward again.” As the expenditure stole her breath briefly, Lyntael felt a short moment of shock at Rogan's wording, but quelled it just as hard; he'd said he couldn't see, other than data, and she had more important things to focus on. Every time she caught sight of her own body moving beneath the transparent shapes of her outfit, it caused another small spike of nerves... and odd excitement... but she pushed through it, cheeks hot. She panted, taking a deeper breath, then rolled to one side, re-taking her stance and darting back and away again, towards the northern block. There were more coming and she had to pace herself, she knew that. Her glance flicked back to see if the sparking one had managed to get stuck on one of the other blocks like she hoped – it looked and felt dangerous, and she had no intention of getting close to the thing if she could avoid it.

As her body continued to charge with electricity and she made her move, the Heavy would teleport in from the side and begin to attempt to slam into her from her previous position and swing about from side to side, but unfortunately it failed to live up to it's name as Lyntael scurried away from the attack by a wide margin, headed towards the eastern object as the Spooky would teleport in and make a licking attempt...barely managing to catch her arm as it did, triggering her defenses as it did, a blast of electricity catching both Spooky and Heavier (50 to both) as well as catching the two in her slipstream as she got away (21 to both). As the Sparkler made it's attempt to attack, zipping through the field at lightning quickness and getting stuck on the western block as it tried to pass by it, leading to it sloooooowly circling around it and getting stuck in it's orbit, unable to escape.

That was one problem that thankfully solved itself as she began to direct her anger at the Spooky and Handy in her way to prevent the former from nuking her field of defenses, smacking the Handy with both the inital strike...and then crushing it and the spooky (50 to both, 30x5 to handy2) leaving little in her path as the sparks settled. This would lead the Cloudier to make it's move against her, sending a downpour across the area, destroying the block unfortunately, but Lyntael avoided getting a cold shower just barely as she moved towards the north, after reinforcing the block. This would give the signal to allow more viruses in, as a SECOND Handy2 would join the fight much to her dismay, as well as a pair of little round wireframes with antennas...probably the second tier of Maru viruses if her memory served her right, but regardless, a small click sounded out as one round ended and another began as the Heavier returned to it's starting position, a wireframe grin on it's dumbell sides, ready to slide into Lyn.

Maru-10Maru-10 (Maru)

Maru are rather small floating spheres of electricity, with two beady black eyes. They never appear solo, and will always have at least one other Maru at their side. While they're exactly as sturdy as one would expect from a ball of electrical energy, they can inflict bugs with their electric shocks. Maru are highly intelligent for being what they are, and love to combine tactics with others of their kind to make sure they each get to shock the enemy at maximum efficiency. Their small size and ability to move in any direction makes them extremely hard to hit.

Area: Netopia, NAXA

Turn Uno done! Begin turn Dos!
Crouching low, Lyntael winced as she took note of each new virus drawn to the current commotion. She couldn't' stay here, or it was just going to get worse at this rate. Her eyes flicked briefly up towards the northern end of the corridor, where the quarantine lock was still holding closed; surely it wouldn't say like that for too much longer. Her breath had started to come harder as she fought – nothing unbearable yet, but she could feel the swell of her charge pressing and building inside her, answering each expenditure in turn and filling her. There was a warm burn in her limbs and her chest and she grit her teeth, turning back to the viral threats, remaining and new alike.

The large sparking one had indeed gotten stuck for now, so as long as she didn't go close it ought to be safe, but her attention was drawn towards another pair of smaller electrical pulses – more erratic, faster and at a glance, more keenly intent on closing in on her. That was a problem. Like this, she cold just see the shape, round orbs with small antennae, and a small thread in her mind wondered what they looked like normally. She pushed it aside as she began to move.

Vaulting quickly, she swung herself over the cube to the other side and fixed her sight on the rain cloud closest; the storm had missed her the first time, but it was too close for comfort while she needed to focus on other things. She embraced the swelling charge and let it gather in her chest before her hands snapped outwards, wrists together. The shearing flow of energy lanced out in a crackling line towards the virus, but as it seared upwards Lyntael focused, wincing, and dragged her right hand away. With the tail end of the rush of expending power, a far more erratic spray of individual energy pulses scattered southward across the field towards the pair of smaller electrical viruses as they approached. They seemed fast and evasive, but as long as she could land a few shots, amongst the scattering, they might not be too sturdy.

She wavered for a moment as the waved of force left her drained; her stance widened in a half-stagger as her head dropped and the empty void inside her ached. There was enough time for her downcast eyes to pass over her exposed, open stance and another fierce blush of heat raced back through her along with the roar of her charge cycling back up and filling the emptiness with furious current that demanded to be spent.

No time to waver. She grit her teeth and pushed both her own momentary embarrassment, and the straining, burning sensation, away. Two zipping electric balls were the biggest threat, and she needed them gone. Lyntael took a breath and blew it out again, then dashed forward. Quick steps carried her across the transparent, wireframed space towards the pair as quickly as she could. A quick dart to one side was followed by a back step that let her end the momentum of her movement in a kick that sought to strike the first of the little bugs to one side and knock it off balance, if that was possible. As she landed, her other foot followed through with a second attempt before she dropped into a brief crouch and sprang up again with a pair of quick rising punches. Her body swung past the virus as she twisted with it, trying to keep an eye on both of the two as she wove between them. She could feel the burn of her charge straining against her skin and crackling in her muscles, but for now she held it off, continuing to assail the second of the two with another series of quick strikes as she circled around it. Her body pulsed with static even so, sending rolling sparks out from her to reduce some of the building energy, but Lyntael barely noticed as she tried to finish off the pair and avoid any nasty shocks from them.

Working with that she had, the viruses began to encroach upon her, the Maru viruses in particular were curious of the little dancing lightning bolt they were up against, tilting their tiny bodies in confusion as they watched her charge up, most navis had clothing though so...it was a little curious of them. The Cloudier and Sparkler, sadly, couldn't do much of anything as the storm continued along the eastern Faux-Cube and the latter virus began grinding against the cube it was attached to in frustration as it couldn't escape the pull, though the former virus was taking caution now as it watched on high.

Meanwhile, the lightly singed Heavier would begin it's strikes against her, coming in just as she moved like last time, coming in from the north just a little away from the cube as it barely missed her in it's obliviousness. Barely getting across the cube and taking her frustrations against the viruses, she would lead the bigger of the two attacks towards the Cloudier as it had been watching and just as it moved, the attack connected and erased it from the network (150!), dew scattering across the field as the smaller, more erratic attacks would begin to try and clip their way across the Maru10, just -barely- clipping the virus enough times to delete it, an electrical discharge exploding outwards next to it's partner (30x3) and making sure it couldn't coordinate attacks with it's partner in crime.

In shock at how quickly it's partner was killed, the Maru would quickly turn it's attention towards Lyntael and with an exlectrical crackle, the virus would make it's movement towards Lyntael and Lyntael would reciprocate in turn as the Handy, out of it's element here, would begin to sink downwards into the floor, returning quickly as it left a pair of bombs down on the ground, two extremely large and powerful bombs left on the eastern and western sides of the room, one after another as the two would make their way across the field and met up, the virus lashing out with prongs of electrical energy, striking against Lyntael's barrier and removing it...as interally her body began to heat up and a glitch could be identified in her systems, leading her to lashing out against the virus, one strike managing to connect as she strode hopefully against it and connected more, leading to her managing to kill it in a flurry of blows (30)(30x2) as electricity thrummed across her body, hot and powerful needing to be discharged.

When all was said and done, a click rung out twice across the field, and three new viruses made their apparerance. A Brushman, Powie and a suspiciously silent DarkProg, twitching and malfunctioning otherwise, would enter the field ready for combat.

Handy2Handy2 (Handy)

Handy Viruses attack by opening a dimensional gate below themselves, and dropping into it. The exit gate opens next to their destination, and they will rise out of it holding an explosive. This explosive is placed on an unbroken panel, and the Handy is free to move after. The use of gates does not count as teleporting, but can be used as a means of dodging as they attack. Gates are only used when attacking, and at no other time. Handy viruses will not set a new explosive until either a turn has passed, or they pass one action without setting a new bomb, whichever comes first. For more info on the bombs Handy viruses use, see below.

Turn Dos over! Begin the final turn!
With each expenditure, Lyntael let her body flow through the instinctual motions that always came with conflict; more dance than combat, but with savage stings all the same. Each strike came with a burst of power, draining into the empty feeling before the cycle of her charge answered, harsher, fiercer each time. A crackle of foreign electricity lanced across her shoulder as she moved and the girl gasped through gritted teeth; it stung and seared, even after it had passed through her defences, and she could feel the skittering discordant twinges of it spreading through her limbs.

In a spare moment, between strikes, Lyntael caught her stance and glanced towards the far seal on the passage again. Come on... More viruses were drawing in to the continuing disturbance she was creating, with no way out of it until the lock released. She could probably force it, or Rogan could, but either option would give them away for certain. In the stolen moment, her chest heaved and she could feel her body starting to sweat. The rage of her charge was getting bad; it was burning, painfully, across every muscle in her body, but something was wrong as well – it jabbed and spiked, an extra layer of discomfort beyond the impersonal scouring of the unrelenting cycle.

She swallowed, most open as she drew breath, and pushed through the burning sensation, starting to run. As she travelled, a pulse of wavering static rolled out from her, reverberating with excess jolts as she raced past the newly arrived viruses and past the large heavy beyond, pushing her way to the door; she could feel her limbs edging towards numbness as the weight of her charge strained at her strikers, demanding release. As she passed by the Heavy, she let one strike push her up and forward into a low forward leap and twisted her form. Her other leg swept around and forward into a leading kick that flared with bright light, crackling and sending excess threads of current scattering to the ground as she let the energy flow and grant her a moment of relief from the strain. She kept moving past it as she landed, without looking back.

The moment of relief was just that; she'd barely reached the far door before the spent charge had surged upwards again, filling the empty space to bursting and pushing harder. She couldn't keep doing this at this pace; already the static was making it hard to focus on anything but the targets right in front of her, and she could feel her senses growing overwhelmed. She tried to focus on the door lock; there were viruses behind her, she knew, but she had to check the quarantine, see when it would release. Lyntael tried to take a longer breath, and hold onto her charge without sending it fully, just for a moment. Slow down, try to stabilise. The energy danced beneath her skin, forming light caustics across her entire body – visible in full for once beneath the transparent outlines of her clothes, even if no-one present had time to appreciate the effect. For Lyntael, the pattern was just one part of the surging, straining sensation of her body desperate to explode its full charge as she tried to restrain it.

The lock still hadn't released; it needed more time, and more were coming. Lyntael groaned through her teeth, turning back to look at the dangers behind her. Many, and more on the way; couldn't they just stop. Her thoughts felt hazy and static laden as she took a step back toward the fight, hunching over and gripping at her own form while she fought back the need to expend. It was too much, and she couldn't fight that many things without expending more. Frustration welled as she glared down the length of the hallway. She could feel herself tipping on the edge of a promised rush; a moment of proper relief from the overbearing pressure. It was bad to let go and embrace it, right now – some part of her mind knew that, but it was a thread of willpower against a flood of force.

“Rrahhh... Can't you... can't you all, just... Leave me. Alone!” What began as a gravel-voiced complaint became a full-bodied shriek that continued into a wracked scream as Lyntael threw her hands out, giving in to the need long enough to let it consume her. Her senses converged into white static as her thoughts were drowned by the scourging release. For a brief flash, the feeling of absolute oblivion struck something familiar; a sense of cold metal on her back, and the taste of blood in her mouth; in the same instant it was washed away along with everything else. Power flowed, roaring with successive cracks and bursts as a storm of lightning erupted from her small frame. The flaring tempest filled the corridor with rending, tearing bolts of electricity that scored across the walls and floor and grounded themselves all across the battlefield, obliterating any virus unfortunate enough to get caught by one of the erratic, uncontrolled bolts that drowned the hallway in light.

As the crackling light faded, the girl's form wavered, then crumpled from arched back and stretched out, down to a curled over, heavily panting shape, barely holding herself up on one knee. For a moment that stretched, the empty, numb void on the other side of release replaced the pain while the girl stared, unseeing, at the ground in front of her... but the emptiness lasted for only a second.

Managing to charge herself up through the burning pain her electrically charged body exuded, the new viruses would make sure to make their presence made in excess as the Brushman would move about the field as it dabbed down a holy panel nearby, the local Heavier taking this chance to move towards it and sway slowly back and forth along it, carefully trying to avoid leaving it for too long, despite it's heavy and long swings, due to it's nature.

Meanwhile, Lyntael made her way to the other side of the field to make ready for her escape to open up and get out of this hellscape. A crackling line of electricity exploding to either side, just barely catching the Heavier (10) in her wake as the viruses moved in towards the navi, the Powie raised up towards the ceiling and fell as a massive weight, near the navi as an explosive wave of energy would miss the navi just barely as she lashed out at the Heavier, catching it just as it swung away from the attack (150) and deleting it where it swung, an electrical discharge leading back into Lyntael and damaging her (10).

This lead into the Handy disappearing into the shadows, reappearing towards the northeast and laying down another bomb, a massive X on it's display as it sparked and sputtered. As well, the Prog which had been silent all this time let out an ear piercing screech, nails on a chalkboard echoing across the field as it began to move forward towards the navi as it sparked and sputtered.

But as she stoked her embers, the Brushman would begin to paint down another panel, near Lyntael this time, as intense heat wafted over her body, lava beginning to pour into the area in a singular area, she unleashed her attack, explosions of power being directed as her own body began to tear into herself, her attacks landing across all four remaining viruses, even as the Powie and Handy tried to escape the rage that flowed through her. All of them summarily being turned to less than matter, less than atoms in her attacks (300/300/300/300), leading to the floor around her to be deeply etched with black soot marks across it, the only exceptions being the bombs...and where the viruses stood before, their shadows etched into the floor behind where they stood, perfectly preserved.

The only remaining virus that escaped her rage was the Brushman...and it was currently wondering what god let it live. As all of this finished and Lyntael was charging, three clicks echoed about and her escape route opened up with the sound of doors sliding open, leading towards her destination. Even then, bombs ticked down to 0, their casings looking ready to explode any second, as three new viruses joined in the south, a Hellody, Ravager and Swordy-N2...not that it mattered much, Lyntael was more likely to escape now than anything...right?

ESCAPE ROUTE OPENED UP, MAY ESCAPE FOR FULL REWARDS!
The void of sensation numbed her for only a second, and it gave Lyntael no chance for her thoughts to recover their sense. A heartbeat of silence was followed by the answering surge of power that roared up through her form like an insatiable beast. It burned, and it hurt, filling her to bursting point and past into a searing ache that flooded every fibre of her being.

It drove Lyntael back to her feet; her eyes stung, green obscured by crackling light that fell in wild showers down her cheeks and scattered into the air on either side. There were no thoughts; just the pain of the charge and the need to release it. Her body wavered as she dragged a breath and tried to find something, anything, to direct the charge at. Something moved; it didn't matter what; her feet shifted and she dashed towards it, a shriek of desperate fury tearing from her throat as she did.

She struck out, unconscious of whatever was closest, letting the power flow from her again in another brilliant flare of wild power while her body sparked and crackled. A moment of blissful release and relief, and then the return, burning in her veins, stronger than before, too much to bear. She screamed again, gaze unfocused through the stinging searing in her eyes, and leapt towards another target. Both fists came around together, raking trails of scattering lighting through the air behind them before exploding into another nova of light and force.

Somewhere within the scouring annihilation of self, the power reached for something; strained for it with each beat and pulse, forging towards... something... coursing through mortal flesh that was still too weak. The feeling reached, burning nerves and muscles, and then with a hard snap, the power died.

Lyntael stumbled, the strength to move gone as the destructive power snapped off like a circuit-breaker. Distantly, she felt her body collapse and tumble, rolling and sliding a few extra paces from the left-over momentum, but it was a removed, barely-present impact as what was left of her awareness was smothered by the void of sensation that replaced her charge.

A thought flickered in the emptiness; there was still danger, wasn't there? She still had to fight. Was that it? Everything was numb; her body didn't want to move and shifted slowly, clumsy as she managed to roll over and put her palms to the panels beneath her. There was no strength in her arms.

“Lyntael,” a voice cut into the darkness of her mind. “On your feet, Lyntael.” She lifted her head, blinking as her thoughts tried to marshal. Rogan was speaking to her; she had to focus.

“You need to move, Lyntael. You are not safe where you are. On your feet; we have work to do.” The voice was calm, confident. He wasn't berating her, just... instructing. She found herself nodding with groggy motions, then tried to push herself up again. Her arms still felt like water, but she managed, forcing herself to her feet.

“Good. Now move, Lyntael. Forward.” She nodded again and began to move. One step after another went from unsteady steps to a gradual run. The motion brought feeling back into her limbs, though everything still felt cold and dead. She saw the explosives left by the handy viruses; couldn't damage the network, not like this, but they'd hurt her. Her pace picked up until she stumbled up the steps and through the doorway beyond. Behind her, the quarantine lock shut itself again – she hadn't done that, but she stumbled to one side and stopped anyway, leaning on one wall.

Barely managing to keep concious through everything she had suffered through, the viruses stared at her for a bit as she gathered her strength, electricity burning and crackling at her body as the nearby brushman began to dab down another lava panel in front of her as the Swordy would teleport up towards her side and cutting through her defense, only for the Swordy to wind up getting completely obliterrated as she lashed out in anger, pain and whatever emptiness that deadened her body. The newcomer viruses were stunned at how hard she hit the virus, the swordy's sword just...sticking up out of the ground. The Helody would begin to bounce towards Lyntael and in it's bounces would barely manage to hit her refreshed defense as it hopped about, the nearby Ravager rushing in towards Lyntael and winding up, as she lashed out again, explosion of static diffusing through the air, it's hammer coming crashing down as the remaining viruses began to back off, even as the two bombs were near to explode...as she barely, JUST barely, stumbled through the exit and hearing it close behind her as the heat of the two explosions blasted through the exit, not damaging her...but giving just a little warmth...if she could even feel it at this point. Battle routines disengaged as her PET began to download her rewards.

-- Viruses -- (Kills: handy2x2, Spooky2x1, Cloudierx1, Maru10x2, Heavierx1, Powie2x1, Sparklerx1, DarkProg2x1)

Senses dull and her breathing slow and difficult, Lyntael remained slumped for another few moments. The explosion from the far side of the door barely registered in her awareness – there was just the dead, numb emptiness of everything and herself a tiny speck within it. A second passed, and another; there was no pain, no aching burn here... nothing to tell her... what? The thought lingered. Nothing to ground her, to tell her she real, and alive. A thread of fear and desperation shot through the numb, dead feeling; she'd take any pain over this. Her thoughts had grown clearer in just the few seconds that had passed and Lyntael struggled to force herself back to her own feet again, teeth grit.

A moment later, a spark flared in the void. Light, life and sensation flooded back and Lyntael grabbed it, embracing her charge and drawing it in through her body, willing the warmth of it to fill her again; anything to escape that void of self. She lifted her head, eyes closed, and let out a long sigh, clenching her fists as a fresh wash of small sparks scattered away from her body in response. The charge settled back, humming a constant pulse slowly within her chest.

“Let me know when you are able to move freely, Lyntael, and we'll continue.” Rogan's voice came to her ear as she stood; that familiar sensation of him talking from just behind and over her shoulder. She nodded once, then opened her eyes and rolled her shoulders. There was still a distant, lingering sensation of exertion – the knowledge that she'd pushed too hard recently, but already she could feel the lingering fatigue fading away.

“I'm ready, sir. I'm can continue.” She paused, checking the details of their dive. “Mask is in place still, extenuation is nominal. No alarms triggered as far as I can tell. The quarantine engaged for longer than it should have, but it didn't send any signals out to anywhere else. I don't think it even logs.” She nodded to herself and looked around. Behind her, on the other side of the now-closed door, she could see the small group of viral entities that had seeped into this subnet, still clustering in the space where she'd been fighting. The door was sealed and they didn't seem to be able to get through it, despite being able to see her on the other side. Without really thinking about it, she looked down at herself again; bare skin under transparent green wire lines. It was strange to see the point at which the sweat on her skin lost its integrity to the data space, and where the sheen of it was muted by the fabric that was still, in reality, pressed to her skin despite its transparency. She shook her head and turned forward, tracing her gaze over the pathways and chambers that the simplified green wireframes mapped out ahead of her. There was still a lot of structure ahead, but she could already feel where Rogan needed her to go.

As she began to walk, Lyntael watched the edges of the net space for more movement; the viral presence was more or less inescapable, and soaked every aspect of these lower nets – the closed network itself was probably clear and protected, but for a subnet layer like this, things would inevitably get in – harmless, except to someone who happened to be here with them, of course.

A change of direction turned her gaze and she nodded to herself unconsciously; Rogan's probe shifted and she moved with it, turning down a smaller corridor and then looking for the way to go where she needed. Her eyes found what she was looking for a moment later amidst the myriad of traced lines. She wondered whose idea it had been to make node shortcut branches so often resemble pokey vents, in some sort of mirror to modern office buildings. It was... tedious. No matter. She jumped to pull the ceiling hatch open, then again to grip the edges of the small hole it revealed.

Halfway through pulling herself into the vent, Lyntael paused mid-twist. The position had left her looking back across the various more private parts of her body again, and the whole exercise felt so much more awkward with the view that would normally have been covered by her vest and skirt right in front of her eyes... but that hadn't been entirely what had stopped her. Rogan's earlier words had flickered back into her mind. The phrases he'd used... A blush crept over her skin as she looked with unconscious thoughtfulness at herself before pulling herself the rest of the way into the passage and straightening out to begin crawling.

He'd told her to get to her feet, when she'd fallen down. She felt her blush deepening as she pushed forward. He'd acknowledged it when she did stand up. He'd told her before that he couldn't see her... but if he couldn't, he couldn't have known when she fell or stood. Was he actually looking after all? The blush became a nervous... and strangely excited, heat within her. He'd have said something, if he could see... if something had changed, he'd have made a comment, or a complaint.

She reached a turn, and twisted around to drop into a short shaft that descended to the lower section of the space. Her heart was racing and her breath had gotten shorter. She shouldn't be having that kind of response. What should have been mainly embarrassed nervousness was instead tensely quiet. She should have been trying to cover herself, just in case, but she knew it was a lie to tell herself that she didn't do it out of focus on the mission. It wasn't that at all, and she knew it.

As she landed in a crouch at the bottom of the shaft, Lyntael put a hand to the ground and ducked low to look in each direction, before remembering that she didn't need to. She straightened up to orient herself more clearly. It felt like she should just be able to climb through the wireframing, out to the floor level again, but a brief tap on the surface confirmed that the metallic shaft wall was still very much solid, despite appearances. Oh well. She dropped down and stretched out to begin crawling again – the actual hatch exit was halfway down the next hall. Despite herself, she found her thoughts flickering back to the way her body was moving, and wondering what view an external screen focused on her might be showing.
Her thoughts wouldn't leave the idea alone. Rogan wouldn't deliberately lie about something like that – she knew it was wishful thinking on her part that he might actually want to see her like this. Was she rolling her hips more than necessary as she crawled? Oh light she was... her heart hammered. This was ridiculous; even if he did appreciate her body, she didn't want him perving on her in secret. She didn't... but... but the thought that he might look and enjoy still made her feel... Lyntael tried to shove the thoughts away and focus on her mission. Besides. He'd already told her that seeing her exposed made him feel uncomfortable... but he felt uncomfortable because he did like what he'd seen... It had been a crushing thing to hear, on one hand... but at the same time... it had made some small part of her feel... what was the word for it? She was sure there was one... that tiny, exhilarating spark of joy and hope, within something that was naturally devastating and sad. She should look it up when she had time.

It was probably silly. She was reading too much into the words. He had to have just been making an assumption, because she hadn't been moving. Those were the sensible thoughts. But... but what if? The idea wouldn't go away. As she reached the vent exit, Lyntael pushed it open and began to climb out, but she lingered, bent over as she hoisted herself up, and made the action of extracting herself and standing again as sensuous as she knew how. It was silly; he wasn't looking and couldn't see. But it still felt... naughty.

Focus. She tried to shake off the hot feeling flooding her, and how distracting it had become in certain places. This was more or less where she needed to be, for now. The space she'd climbed up into looked like an open room with benches around the walls and a large work station of some sort in the middle, judging from the tracery of green lines. It connected to second similar room, which branched to the sides into two more. Beyond, the structure had a hallway that connected back to other areas, but no obvious door – it probably had another secret catch somewhere, but that didn't matter for her right now. She began to walk towards the central room, feeling for Rogan's signal.

“Hold there for a moment, Lyntael.” Rogan's voice sounded as focused on his work as ever, but she couldn't shake the thoughts now that they'd taken root. Lyntael stepped up to the central work bench, and turned to hop up on it. She let her knees settle wide apart and leaned back on one hand, then lifted one foot up onto the edge of the bench with her to make a luxuriant, sprawling pose.

“Here, like this, sir?” This was ridiculous. She was being ridiculous. It was fine; he'd told her he couldn't see her, hadn't he? He certainly couldn't complain or chastise her, after all. He'd said he couldn't see. She bit her lip, waiting to see if there was any reaction.

“Good. Hold that position.” He didn't sound flustered... but had there been a longer hesitation than usual, maybe? Despite herself, Lyntael had to hold back a giggle at his words.
“Yes, sir! If you want me to change to a new position, let me know!” There was a part of her that couldn't believe she was doing this when they were supposed to be on mission; it was foolish and inappropriate, whether anyone knew or not. There was another part of her that just couldn't bring herself to stop, and it was definitely winning.

“... I will. You sound taxed, Lyntael, is everything alright? Your vitals say-”
“I'm fine!” Lyntael cut him off with something that sounded far more like a yelp than she wanted. Her skin crackled and she staved off the sharp bolt of sensation that came along with Rogan's question. Rather than the sudden risk of being caught dashing the inappropriate mood from her system, it seemed to do the exact opposite and Lyntael felt her toes curling up tight in her shoes unconsciously. “I'm okay! It's just... I'm just a bit nervous, sir. There's, ah, there's a lot of viruses around the outskirts here, and they could discover me... at any moment.” The excuse, grabbed for in a thoughtless hurry, did nothing at all to calm her down. Oh light what was she doing?

“I see. I need you to stay there and take care of yourself for a little longer.” Lyntael stifled a groan at the man's phrasing again. Was he doing it on purpose? He couldn't be. He was ordering her to take care of herself, the treacherous thoughts whispered. No. No, that was going way too far with... with whatever this ridiculous game she was playing was. She pushed her free hand down to cover her groin, as though to make the point, and immediately regretted it as her fingertips pressed against damp fabric. Light danced across her skin. Her hips rolled subtly, grinding forward against the palm of her hand and she bit back a rough sound in her throat. No! No, no, no. She was not doing this. There was a mission. She had to pay attention! She pulled her hand away again and gripped the edge of the counter instead. Just sit still, and wait for Rogan to finish searching.

((Ready for battle 4))
As Lyntael took a brief breather, in more ways than one, she would soon feel the presence of viruses as she had lied to her op about a moment ago. Despite the terrain being mostly featureless, a sudden shift on the ground as shining and dull panels in decent-sized chunks began to rise and fall onto the field, leaving just the bench and the overly exposed Lyntael alone. Dull panels wrapped into bigger chunks than the brightly lit Holy panels that fell and rose upon the field as it lurched and shifted loudly, her and the bench soon becoming level with the other paneling as more viruses began to invade the field, this time however, there was no quarantine lock...oh no, god no, that would have been hell. No, it was just an itsy-bitsy, gigantic tank piloted by a Metool that came lumbering into the area, a trio of viruses on it's "heels" so to speak.

The entire quartet were wearing colored wireframes indicative of their original coloring, or at least the main color they could be associated with. The Mettine, or Metool Tank V3 if you prefer, was wearing a full set of Mauve-red across it's entire form, even the treads it moved about on were the same color, leading to the Metool pilot to honk the horn (wait those tanks have horns!?) causing a loud honking noise (probably one of the loudest novelty horns to exist on this part of the net) to echo about and give heed to kill it, if it's sudden appearance wasn't enough to induce such feelings. Far behind at the north, in front of a BMD that had kept it's form somehow, a Dynamite virus in a dull darker-green would be setup. As the Beetank2, in a vibrant blue, would begin scuttling across the field off to the back and right of the Mettine, aiming up and getting a lock onto Lyntael just the same. And finally, in a light blue, the Handy2 would show up just the same, flexing it's fingers as it would flip Lyntael "The Bird" just to be cheeky. All that as the viruses prepared their attack, loud clicks could be heard coming from the tanks, as the Dynamite2 would ruffle beneath it's cover for a trip-bomb. Battle routines flared up, just the same as before, locking Lyntael into another unwanted battle...and it didn't help that the Metool atop the tank could seemingly be leering at her, it's helmet askew just enough to cover it's eyes...just a little.

A Mettank is a combination of the Metool, Catack, and Armadillo viruses. It looks a lot like a regular Catack, with several notable differences. The main body of the tank is slightly smaller, and the tank's driver is very clearly an actual Metool, though it doesn't bear its signature weapon. The vehicle itself is colored to match the Metool-driver's Helmet; thus the most basic version is gold with green trim, while more powerful versions will be colored differently to follow suit. The tank itself retains the same basic design as a Catack, except that its triangular treads have been replaced with four almost comically over-sized monster-truck style armored wheels, and its main gun now sports two long, narrow tines jutting out vertically up and down from a point close to the muzzle. These make it look rather like a giant version of a Metool's pickaxe, and the cannon is also now housed in a vertical pivot that allows it to adjust up and down, or even swing with enough force to strike the lower tine to the ground.

Most of the time, the Mettank moves very slowly, and it has been seen to activate a defensive mode wherein the Metool-driver's helmet expands to a jumbo size large enough to cover the entire tank in its protective dome. This does, of course, render the virus utterly blind, and when specifically guarding like this it can no longer attack or move.

It has also been seen, occasionally, to display sudden feats of unexpected speed, where it will rev up, then suddenly ram a target. At these times, its helmet defense covers the tank, though it recedes again as soon as the attack run loses momentum.

Area: All

HP: 460
Element: Null

Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 60 Null + Blind + Blast 2
Primary Attack Accuracy: B
Primary Attack Description: The Mettank blasts a target with an explosive shell from its main gun, which stuns targets.

Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: 60 Null + Piercing + Ground Attack + Wide Attack
Secondary Attack Accuracy: B
Secondary Attack Description: Slams the pick-tine of its main gun to the ground, causing a large shockwave.

Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 60 Null + Group Attack + Breaking + Impact + Movement
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: B
Tertiary Attack Description: The Mettank revs up and rushes one target with sudden speed. It activates its MetGuard when it begins to rush, and deactivates it again as soon as the attack run ends. The Mettank does not return to its original position at the end of the attack run, but remains where it stopped.

Special: MetGuard: The Metool's Helmet expands rapidly to cover the entire tank in a protective dome. Assumes MetalBody and can hold this guard for any number of actions. Activating the guard takes an action, but deactivating it to attack does not. Mettank cannot move or attack while MetGuard is active, however its tertiary attack ignores this. Attacks from below bypass MetGuard for normal damage.
Special: Slow to move, but can move and dodge while attacking.
Note: MetalBody is identical to IronBody, but does not hamper movement. Non-Break attacks deal 0 damage, and Break attacks deal double.

-- Rogue Battle 4 Ready? Start!! --
Lyntael only found herself with time for another one or two slow breaths, amidst trying to push the inappropriate thoughts of risk and exposure, and the feelings they seemed to be causing, out of her mind. Before she even managed to measure our her second breath, however, a ripple in the subnet gave rise to a fresh incursion, right on her position.

Her skin was already dancing with light as the startled gasp half-choked her efforts at calm breathing back again; on instinct, without thinking about it, the girl drew her knees swiftly together and up while her free hand rose to cover her chest as well, even though the two motions were more or less futile and ineffective in her current situation. It was 'just' viruses, she knew, at a glance -more incursions phasing in from the external rogue net – but it still felt like it mattered. She caught the way the met piloting the main contraption leered from under its helmet with more than enough sapience to be understanding and she felt the already warm glow of her skin flare into a wild-fire blush. The shock galvanised her, at least, and she managed to roll back and off to the far side quickly, dropping behind the bench for cover; not that she could hide, or eve evade any of their looks at all, regardless, but it was solid at least.

A static aura reverberated around her body and scattered lights arced beneath her skin as she crouched, looking through the transparent shape of her temporary cover a the new shapes; the big machine looked dangerous, but it was a single metool piloting it. She couldn't move far from this spot though, not without making trouble for Rogan. If she could deal with the little metool, and its invasive gaze, the rest would be simple enough... but they weren't going to come to her, by the look of them.

She waited a beat, embracing the charge that was already filling her body for other, less appropriate reasons, then leap up and forward, across the bench in a smooth gliding motion that set her running with long, light steps through the viral forces. Sparks crackled as she wove around the nearer targets with graceful steps and passed through them towards the back-liner instead; the static pulse that followed her would be enough to knock away errant shots and anything that managed to take a crack at her as she moved through would be in for a worse shock than that, from the eager current just beneath the surface of her skin. As she ran through, Lyntael leapt and turned, striking out at the handy virus – it was the easiest target to handle quickly, and she wasn't sure what some of the others would do yet. She didn't dither with it for long, though, and kept moving through. After her leading kick, as she struck out with a sharp elbow drive and a following fist while she moved around it, then rotated into a final pair of following-through kicks as she moved past, to the rear of it. Her body spun about with the series of strikes, bursting with a counterbalance wave of lesser static bolts that fanned around her, and then she was away, continuing toward the back of the room. In the back of her mind, she felt her skirt flutter, trying in futility to cover her decency trough the compromising acrobatics – there wasn't anything the valiant modesty coding of her skirt could do when the fabric itself wasn't opaque. She tried to keep watch on the back virus for anything sneaky – she'd never seen that one before, and the the shape of the creature she could see underneath its wire-framed camouflage sacking was... concerning. There was no telling what it was going to do exactly, but those looked like complicated explosives.

The shift from one type of adrenalin rush to another was jarring... or... it should have been, surely. Lyntael felt her body, still maddeningly aroused, nevertheless flowed with the same surety as always, and with no hesitation. The arousal wasn't fading, either; a few seconds of dangerous shock ought to have drained all that away, but it hadn't. If anything, it was worse... why? The thought that she was exposing herself to these creatures with ever twist and kick, and she really had no firm idea of just how truly sapient each of them might actually be, was a thread of thought that remained as a distraction in her mind that continued to pluck at a tension in her entirely unrelated to the danger of the fight. She grit her teeth as she reached the Dynamite at the back and ducked to one side, then back around it, avoiding whatever traps the thing had set down for her as best she could.

More importantly, the motion let her position herself behind the dynamite, giving her a better view of the full field of her opponents. Her body hummed and she looked through the sneakier virus, down the length of the space toward the others and drew a quick breath, feeling the way her body hummed to the charge. She was going to need the longest, hottest shower after this was over... With a focused motion, Lyntael twisted her body forward into a tight forward flip that snapped her left leg out and let her bring it slamming downward in a dropping scythe motion that trailed a burning crescent of yellow electricity after it; it struck the ground near the Dynamite itself and exploded in a crackle of rapid, punctuated electrical pulses, sending the crescent wave tearing through and forward to travel the length of the space towards the other viruses as well. Lyntael felt the expenditure as the power flowed through her, only a small drain the siphoned off what was there and left her body to fill it again quickly as the next pulse of her charge cycled back.

As she made her extremely flustered movement, the far away Dynamite would quickly respond to Lyntael's movements, rolling out a bomb several panels down from it in a diagonal motion, leading the bomb to soon come to a standstill and directly pointing downwards, nearly clipping the nearby Handy and causing the latter to flip it off just the same on instinct. But as Lyntael set her trap up, the Beetank would take an opportunity to set one of it's bombs outwards, sending a special ordinence into the area to try and paralyze her, but her turbulant barrier would whip the bomb away and send it soaring over the horizon, it exploding futilly far away from everyone and everything nearby.

Dashing past the viruses as she looked to eleminate the Dynamite first, she would manage to whip past the Mettine and Handy fairly securely and manage to scratch them up a little on the way by (21/2=11 per), as well as launching some attacks against the Handy itself on her way through. Though a couple hits didn't manage to connect as it managed to move out of the way of a few blows, the attack was largely successful despite it all and managing to tag both of them with the nova chaser (3 hits of 30/2=45 damage) (10 to each) as the Mettine would swivel to Lyntael as she ran, covering the tank in a massive MetHelm, it blasted forward with great speed, barely managing to miss Lyntael and passing through the bomb line it's ally had placed down, a chain reaction exploding forth at the same moment and wasting the bomb that had been set down. Screeching to a halt towards the other side of the field and turning around, helm disappearing and the met throwing a tantrum at the controls.

Managing to make her stride towards the edge of the field and take her anger out on the Dynamite, the Handy would take it's chance to slink down into the shadows, making it's teleportation towards the bench Lyntael had started out on, pullinG out an extremely familiar bomb and slapping it down on the ground behind it, thinking it would protect the bomb long enough to explode. As well, the Beetank would take another potshot off at Lyntael, but unfortunately for it, the bomb would sail far over her head and land far enough away it couldn't hit. It was at this point, the Dynamite's life would be greatly shortened as she began to unleash upon it's form even as it tried to move out of the way, her strikes hit true, leading to it's body quickly getting beaten apart (30x5=150) as the Mettine took aim, turning quickly to her from where it was and smashing it's pick-tine upon the ground, launching a piercing shockwave at Lyntael and clipping her barrier enough to cause her trap to explode outwards, deleting the Dynamite2 in the roiling electrical blast (50) and causing it's body to disappate in a painful fashion. Watching this? The Mettine would quickly protect itself, a helmet quickly materializing around the tank as a whole as it sat and waited.

As the wave from the larger virus thundered past her, Lyntael felt the impact of it spin her body around, and managed to hold back for only a moment before the instinctive charge beneath her skin retaliated. Her back arched as the burst of electricity surrounded her, but the emptiness it left behind cycled up again in time with her own heart beat. Beneath the wire-frames of her clothing, her skin was flushed and pink in telltale places and her breath came short and fasts now. She could feel the strain of her charge building as well, but the crackling hum of it within her was bringing a different kind of tension towards its limit, too, and the adrenaline of the fight left no room for the apprehension that might have help her focus.

As she regained her stance, Lyntael's gaze followed back to the peculiar met-tank. It was fast, and now it was defended too. In another circumstance she might have thought it looked cute, or funny... but for now her thoughts measured how tough its protective dome was. The handy was already placing explosives as well, and she couldn't just move away from the area for these ones. She began to move again.

As she took off, light steps on transparent panels, Lyntael kept her eyes on the large tank; her charge was already straining for fresh release as the field of distorted static rippled around her form, and she made a longer, twisting leap between one stride and the next, spiralling her body to face the tank more cleanly and extending one hand. Energy flowed, combining from her strikers to her chest then rushing out through her extended arm into a slim, tearing bolt of electricity that crossed the distance between her and her target with a reverberating crack. The bolt pulsed, rapidly spending itself in a flare of light and throwing Lyntael's own body the rest of the way through its spiralling turn to land neatly and keep running.

She vaulted up onto the bench again, ducking low and turning to keep the remaining viruses in her view; the moment of emptiness stole her breath, then resurged with a fresh pulse, faster. Each expenditure was like a fresh burst of inappropriate sensation while her wires were so thoroughly crossed and she couldn't disentangle one set of thoughts and sensations from the other. At this rate she was going to reach one limit much sooner than the other, well before the pain of her charge would help inhibit it. She panted and grit her teeth; pain was what she needed, now... something at least enough to throw her physical responses out of their desperately indecent channel.

Lyntael drew in on herself, gripping her forearms and digging in her fingernails hard, until she could feel the crescent bites of them sinking into her skin. This was not a time for naughty teasing; the danger was real. She focused on the pain, then took hold of her rapidly rebuilding charge and forced it tightly throughout the rest of her body. It burned and scorched, and her skin crackled, bristling with dancing lightning, but she held it tight for another moment. At least, she stood, throwing her hands out to each side with a growl, fists clenched, and released the diffused wave of electrical static in a flood around her, indiscriminately scouring anything close.

She released a longer breath as the sparks rolled away; still alive with energy and her charge dancing across her skin, but the pain had served its purpose and she could focus, at least. Anything else that got close to her was risking further explosions of lighting from her small frame, but for now the thrum of her charge had evened out – an eager pulsing beat, but not overpowering. She looked about, taking a calmer breath amidst the conflict, and tried to prioritise.

Letting herself take a moment, the Mettank stood still for a moment watching the navi carefully though it's helmet, revving it's engine cautiously as the Beetank began to take aim at the virus slayer itself whilst scuttling down towards the south to keep itself from getting in the way of her wrath. As she began to move, the Beetank took it's shot, another paralyzing bomb at her directly, and though it would have wizzed past her, the bomb would quickly be whipped about from her line of sight and straight back to the tank, landing right in front of it and leaving the tank's systems about to freeze up in a moment as it's shot had gone horribly wrong (45+Stun1).

As the navi moved, she took her shot at the Mettine, taking extremely violent action against it in turn, the shot burrowing through it's helmet and destroying it, leaving the Met underneath extremely damaged as the helm fell apart in pieces as her followup shots would all manage to connect with the now lightly dazed virus (150!+150) whilst the Handy would begin to move away from it's bomb, the virus would make sure to take it's options into consideration. As Lyntael made her way to the bench, the Mettine still in the far northern part of the field, would launch it's attack, taking aim at the electrifying dancer and letting loose a cannon blast, echoing across the field as it attempted to blast Lyntael, but her smooth movements would help her avoid it and the resulting blast, though the bench did take a bit of damage in the process and getting the back part covered soot black (60).

The Handy would keep an eye on Lyntael as it had moved, it likely wouldn't suffer the same fate as everything else, as the virus began to dip into a portal, whilst this happened Lyntael would release a blast of electricity outwards, leading to catching both bench and bomb in her blast (50) as she prepared to let loose another roiling over both, the Mettine would try it's hand again, another blast of energy shot out as it used it's cannon for the intended purpose...and would catch Lyntael in it blast, destroying the bench in the process (60+Blind1) as gunpowder would soon begin to invade her vision, eyes burning as sight began to devolve into blacks and whites with incoherent blobs to look at. As Lyn would begin to let loose another blast of electricity, the Handy would pop up with another bomb in hand, near enough that the blast would roll over it and destroy both the bomb and Handy in the process (50). The Beetank kept it's distance, before launching another bomb off into the distance, but winding up going just off, the bomb blasting harmlessly in the distance just behind Lyntael, as the Mettine, having obviously not learned it's lesson, would shield up again instead of pressing the attack, just to be on the safe side instead of leaving itself open.

Mettank V3 (Mettine)Mettank V3 (Mettine) (Mettank)

Possible Rewards (Per Virus): TankCannon2, Guard2, SonicWave, IronShell2, CrossBomb, BlackCapsule
: 139 HP (Off to the far north-west, a movement away) (Normal) (Guarding)

Despite herself, Lyntael was distracted for one brief moment, looking back towards the monster-truck mettank and trying to glean details from beneath its temporarily shattered helm. The eternal mystery of what was under a metool's helmet never posed a better chance of an answer, in this strange wire-framed space; oddly, when the helmet was drawn down over the tank, it foiled even the subnet's simplistic structure, presenting a featureless dome, but just as she thought she might get a proper look at the helmless pilot, an explosion rocked her vision and battered at her body enough to make the girl stagger back.

She curled over, scrubbing at her eyes with one hand and tried to get her bearings. Stupid. She was getting distracted. Lyntael blinked a few times, trying to clear her vision. Somewhere nearby, she heard the odd sound effect of the Met's dome helmet reforming and expanding over the whole tank again and she took a breath trying to refocus herself, thoughts of inappropriate teasing mostly scattered from her mind.

As she breathed out again, head down, a tingling static ripples passed over her body; the static field about her reformed with a pulse, diecting back towards the larger virus while the smaller one was dazed. Lyntael reached out to the sense of certain calm that was never too far away when danger was close; thoughts of the surety and confidence of the woman who had first inspired her to improve herself and to face her problems head on. The shimmering sensation across her skin was accompanied by a ripple in her clothing as she felt her vest, skirt and other garments shift and change against her skin. They formed into the slightly more covering sleeveless martial gi and legging that reminded her of Martia. The complimenting sweat band formed comfortably around her forehead and as she raised her head again, Lyntael opened her eyes, now clear, and began moving quickly towards the smaller tank with confident strides.

Her charge had dulled away to an almost leaden sensation in her chest, but the calm was what she needed now. Her steps picked up into a run, her toes barely touching the panels as light steps carried her the rest of the way to her first target; finish it off while it was recovering, then deal with the big one. As she reach the smaller tank, she slid into an oblique stance between one step and the next, then kicked off. Her other leg slammed around, adding her own momentum to the force she channelled into the motion; even without the burning electricity, she could still feel the energy moving, gathering at her strikers, combining in her chest and then rushing outwards, but it was always a cleaner, more stable force of power when she drew on Martia's help and control.

Lyntael landed from the kick, arresting her movement with one hand briefly put to the ground and a low recovering crouch, ready to spring back in the other direction, but she stole a quick confirming glance around her as she coiled; holy defences or not, there had been enough force in the strike to take care of the smaller virus, but she wasn't about to leave it alone if it had managed to endure.

Lyntael would scrub away the tank's gunpowder from her eyes, a light heal washing over her body as she began to make her move towards the tank, the Mettine staying silent for the time being as the Beetank would do all in it's power to try and shake away the stunning sensation from it's body, soon regaining what could be called feeling in it's body. The skittish tank would watch as Lyntael would begin to cross with her partner, Martia, a fresh pair of clothes finally covering the navi up despite the space she was in. The Mettine would take this time to quickly let it's guard down and launch another wide shockwave across the field...and missing so much, it's shockwave went into another area code with how wide the berth it had between it and Lyn.

The virus she was gunning for would soon be face to face between itself and Lyntael, leading to the former launching a frontal bomb off in panic...only for the bomb to be caught into an updraft and be flung far off to the Mettine, managing to blast the Metool in the face (45) as she would bring her foot through the first's body in explosive fashion, scattering it's remains all across the holy panels and leaving little left but an empty carcass.

The quick side glance confirmed that the smaller tank was out of commission and Lyntael kicked off, letting her stance uncoil and spring forward again, back towards the final threat. Light steps let her weave slightly, twisting side to side and away from whatever other attacks the monster tank still had to use as she closed in on it. Her eyes watched it, steady; she knew it could push its strange helmet-dome out again, possibly, but that wouldn't matter if she did this right.

As she reached the tank, her movements carried her to one side before she turned, one foot planted and brought her fist in. It was as much for leverage as striking, and Lyntael let her body pivot on the point of contact, swinging up and around to strike out again with one foot, then the other swiftly circling the machine as she climbed it. Protective covering or not, she let the momentum carry her, flipping up from the impacts until she cold land perched on the top of it and striking at it with one last pair of impacts that let her spring off and upward further.

For a brief moment, as her body arched and turned over int eh air above the tank, Lyntael let her eyes close and focused the calmer, more stable force of energy filling her. The leap peaked and she dropped down again, leading with one fist as the energy of the punch drew in from her strikers, and followed through with crushing force aimed at the tank-driver's helmet, whether it was big or small in that moment.
