Hunting down the FirePhoenix

Kemix breathed a sigh of relief, the battle was...not yet over god damn it! Looking about as he wondered what the holdup was, the fight was over. The hell's going on!? I thought I killed them all! He angrily mumbled as he tried to figure things out. Gimmie a second sweetie. I'm kinda new to all this. Ava spoke out at his grumbling, tapping away at her PET really quickly before coming up with the answer. Oh! Gotta delete these phoenixes with a water attack! Good to know for next time. Try urinating on the ashes! She spoke with a laugh. Another grumble coming from the navi, she was very likely getting some strange looks in the cafe.

One. I am pretty sure I'm not equipped for that. He spoke simply, the navi taking aim at the ashes that sat on the furnaces, taking aim as he brought his arm back as he would look on the phoenix's ashes. Two. That is absolutely DISGUSTING. He continued, his arm pulling back even further behind himself as he readied his spear, a soft rush of water enveloping the head. And third. He spoke again, throwing the aquatic spear towards the ashes without a second thought. He wanted that belt, but the lava was too much for him to traverse right now. WE. DO NOT. HAVE THOSE. CAPABILITIES. YOU HARLOT.

4-6: Full Charged Shot--->Fire Phoenix ashes (40+Aqua)
A few moments of confusion were all that passed before between them Kemix and Ava worked out what needed doing. They were in mild disagreement over how it might be done, but Kemix settled the issue with enough of a water shot to hose the ashes away, preventing their rebirth. After another moment, combat disengaged properly and the navi was free to claim his rewards.

As Kemix landed the final blow, he would begin to download the reward data, some bugfrags lingered due to his inability to collect him, needed to get stronger before he could he supposed. The chip uploaded without incident and was added to Ava's catalog as he began to pour over it.

A heavy air lingered between the two before Ava finally spoke. Oh this is gonna be SO much fun! Nothing better than two clashing personalities, working together for a common goal! She spoke happily, clapping her hands in turn, smile on her face as she laughed at his prior rant. He just stayed quiet, the navi walking over towards the belt, activating the SetGrass program in "his" navicust, grass beginning to form a verdant carpet, even tangling up and draining away the lava and giving him a way to the champion belt in the middle of the furnace panels. Slowly walking over to the belt, he grabbed it in one hand, picking up the curious thing. A shrug from the giant navi as he began to wrap it around his arm like a bandana, going back over his grass path, and now off to his next fight.

(Use SetGrass near Lava/Furnace island, equip Champion Belt (20 HP) and go to Battle 2, 90 HP)
Taking his prizes, championship belt included, Kemix found fresh strength flowing into his limbs in a regular pulse as he fastened it on. It was good to be the champ, apparently.

Moving on from the boxing ring, however, the navi found himself walking down a long and winding roadway; the cooler ground was replaced by hot metal plating, but either side of it only grew worse; smouldering furnace edged the snaking road, and beyond it, burning coals. Jagged spires of metal rose up from the landscape on either side as he progressed, like great bones of some long dead adamantine beast, and intermittent gouts of fire lanced up from other gaps in the coal all around. The friendliest way seemed to be forward, along the path, but even that didn't seem overly friendly.

He'd only been walking for a short while, when Kemix found the road blocked by a trio of viruses. they were Melodies, but they didn't bear the joyful, whimsical appearance of many of their kind. These ones wore ragged belts and bandannas; one had a torn chunk missing from its stem, while another had a set of piercings adorning its. their eyes fell on the champion belt as Kemix drew near, and they began to jangle and chime in a distinctly discordant and aggressive manner, bobbing up and down like they were ready for a fight. Far above, in the middle of the soon-to-be battle field, a lone phoenix wheeled and circled on the strong heat thermals, fire trailing from its body. It gave a piercing shriek, which seemed to act as a signal to the other viruses to begin bounding forward.

-=Battle 2, Start!=-
Feeling renewed vigor as he put the belt on his arm, Kemix would continue along the network, his clanking armor growing ever louder as metal clashed against metal underfoot, his body growing ever and ever hotter as the furnaces that lined across the ground...and then he was accosted by...a trio of Melody viruses...and they didn't look so great considering, must be blending in with the general "aesthetic" the area was going for today. He could feel the strength welling up within his body, flexing the champion belt that he had wrapped around his upper arm, the strengthening pulse flooding through his body as he began to go through Ava's folder, a familiar chip catching his eye. Ava. The Wideshot...please send it to me. Kemix spoke simply, the navi holding out his hand to form a new spear, the tip slowly curving outward instead of a single point like last time.

A single click from the PET, Kemix would feel a rush of water flooding his systems as he began to take simple calculations at the Melodies, knowing the "splash" distance of the chip he was given, they needed to be within a decent distance of one another to hit them all together. Channeling a small part of the strength that strengthened his resolve, Kemix's "spear" would slowly grow outwards, the tip curving further outwards until the head of his spear became a full blown scythe. Now...lets see if this works... He mumbled under his breath, his new weapon in hand, Kemix took a low stance, his arms going outward in one direction as he kneeled down to get the weapon's trajectory just right...and with a swift movement, Kemix flung the scythe he had made outwards towards the Melodies. The scythe would fly outwards, spinning about not unlike a top, water rushing across the blade as it did. Slashing through the air like a bladed boomerang, the weapon began to create a perfect blade of pressurized water, coming back to Kemix after a moment, the blade of water rushing forward immediately after coming back, the wave of water rushing through the air towards the targets, attempting to crash against the three at the same time.

Scythe back in hand, Kemix would take the chance to move, his body heavy from his own mass and armor, it wouldn't stop him from doing everything in his power to evade. Even with the sweat at his brow, Kemix quickly jumped backwards from his position, having kept crouched from his last attack, sweat dripping down heavy onto the metal paneling below him, a faint power still residing inside his body from the belt. Landing and sliding backwards ever so slightly, the navi let out a tired groan as he got back to his full height. Mouth dry from the dry heat radiating upwards between the furnaces and the coals, he grabbed one of the gourds attached to his armor, the navi tipping his head back as a rush of cool water began to flood down into his mouth and throat, perhaps Ava had a point earlier...not that he'd admit it openly right now...but as he finished his drink of nearly endless water, he could feel himself grow ever more powerful...water at his fingertips as he could feel it coursing through his body. Neat.

Gimmie the shotgun, Ava. Gonna see if I can snipe the FirePhoenix out of the sky. he finally spoke again, the navi hearing a click and data rushing to his body almost immediately. I wonder if this will work. Kemix mused as he began to download the data to his fingertips, he took "loose" aim at the FirePhoenix that flew above the vents, his hand gripping his weapon of choice tightly as it's head turned back into a singular pointed spear. Water rushing through his fingers as it began to flow like a river around the tip of his spear, Kemix would bring his arm back behind his head, watching it's flight patterns in the air before throwing the water engulfed spear up at the phoenix above him, the spear traveling like a shot from a gun, hoping to take purchase in the Phoenix's body and extinguish it's form.

Sighing out as he was unsure the viruses around him were deleted this time, the navi would take precautionary measures before hand. The bulbs embedded in his armor beginning to glow an azure hue, his body slowly becoming covered in a pair of defenses, a barrier washing across his body, as well as a small shell of casing (with an added washing of protection) would cover across his body, ready to protect and withstand damage.

The challenger's trail was ready to see another rumble, and the trio of notes were bouncy and ready to go, but KLemix acted faster than any of the three. The watery scythe blade lashed out across the path, hissing steam as it went, and sliced through all three Melodies cleanly before any of them could hop out of the way. So much for that fight.

Before he could move on, another screech from the phoenix above heralded a blast of fire lancing down towards him; Kemix jumped back from it just in time and responded with an aqua-imbued blast that quenched the fire bird and knocked it from the sky in one efficient motion. Maybe he was getting the hang of this virus busting thing after all. Even if the heat was unbearable.

Sighing out contently, Kemix could certainly see himself getting better at this...those defenses were certainly unnecessary, but he was doing well after seven years of relative inactivity. The belt still tightly upon his arm (even if it felt somewhat flimsy to the touch) Kemix would continue on without a word, Ava giving him some claps in the background at his untouched victory.

(Battle 3, 90 HP, FirePhoenix bounty)
Keeping the belt affixed to his arm, Kemix went along the path through the Kotobuki network, before being stopped briefly by a piercing howl. In front of him, a small ledge presented itself at about his height, on top of which stood a large, brightly burning Spikey virus. Around its front, a moat of molten paneling glowed bright red, with vents of hot gas hissing out on either side of the ledge. The Spikey's howl was followed up by the screeches of a pair of FirePhoenixes, both of them hovering right above the gas vents. Around the whole setup, a sparse, dry grass grew, ending at about where Kemix currently stood. The Spikey turned its gaze down towards Kemix, its eyes revealing motes of fire instead of the usual eyeballs, as it issued a howl of challenge at him.

-- Elite Battle Mode: Defeat the AlphaSpikey! --
-- Battle 3, Start!! --
Stomping along the ground, footsteps echoing across the field as he continued along the semi-modernized landscape, Kemix would hear the piercing howl, he knew it was a Spikey...but was a little more than spooked as soon as the Spikey made it's entrance...it was...a lot bigger than he remembered...far more firey and...well...it wasn't how it SHOULD BE.

Hey...Ava...what the hell is this thing? It looks like a Spikey...but...it's not how I remember it... Kemix spoke, looking over the howling mutt as the two FirePhoenixes began to fly above the furnaces, green grass crossing up across the slope reaching the Spikey that stood upon there...and boiling lava just beyond that...more things changed he supposed. Quickly typing away at her bulky PET, Ava began to look up the AlphaSpikey's data without a word...her brow furrowing as she began to read the data. It's...a Meta Virus. She spoke simply, all energy receding from her voice as she began to look up it's full data. Meta Virus? Bring me up to speed here. He replied, the navi hefting one of the large gourds of water to his mouth again, he could feel his mouth getting dry again as he began to partake in a cool drink of water.

That's right, they really didn't exist seven years ago. Long story short, someone thought it was a good idea to begin experimenting on making some recreations of...the LifeVirus' droppings...the Scuttles that inhabit the entirety of the Undernet. Thankfully...those recreations were regarded as complete failures compared to the real thing...but then people got to experimenting with other types of viruses...crushing three or more different families together to create what we know as Meta Viruses. Though it seems like they're on a downturn as they haven't been showing up as much as of late...but they should be deleted...quickly. Ava explained herself, running through the chips they had available, her PET screening over each and every one of the viruses...it didn't seem to difficult if Kemix kept the pressure up against the Metavirus, but he was still outnumbered and didn't have an easy out for deleting all three of them.

Delete the Meta, got it. Got any chips for me then? Kemix spoke again, his body awash with the water circulating across his entire body, the belt giving him another pulse of power, his muscles beneath his armor bolstering themselves to be even more powerful. But before Ava could send him a chip, Kemix would rush his way forward as quickly as he possibly could, feet beginning to brush over the grass, his footsteps muffled by the lush verdant terf as he continued to barrel his way towards the Spikey that waited for him atop the ramp, his feet trying to move him out of the way of the attacks that might come towards him in the meantime, likely in a semi-circle feint towards the side of the violent mutt.

Thinking for a moment, Ava would pick the chip they had gotten from those "PogoJack" enemies from earlier. PileDriver1, download! Ava spoke as she sent the data down to her giant worker. The navi receiving the data briefly there after, the armored navi's body growing impatient to put the wild dog down. Fine then, eat up, doggie! Kemix spoke out, his arms held out forwards as he began to morph them in front of the wild dog, his hands soon slipping deep into his armored arms and in their place...a pair of large, sharp pointed jackhammer heads would pop out. Arms up in a defensive state, Kemix moved farther forward against his foe, steps slow but meticulous as he would thrust one downwards, a cold pressurized water erupting from the tip of his weapons, the navi sliding towards the AlphaSpikey as he brought the pneumatic head and attempted to bring it deep into the Spikey's skull from above. A loud clattering as an engine noise sounded out as he did and would begin to drown itself out if it sent itself deep into the skull of the virus alongside a hissing noise of water extinguishing fire...and should he connect...would move further forward if at all possible and attempt to drive the Spikey further back with a second hit, this time from the side, an even louder hissing noise as chilly water hitting against the Spikey's body sounding out if he should connect with the second attack.

The navi would quickly make his feet move...his hands returning from within his armor, Kemix would put up his arms in another defensive stance, his feet shuffling around like a boxer would his as he attempted to move his way lightly around to the side of the Spikey, his feet shuffling to get within melee range of the Spikey. Swiping a piece of chip data upwards, Ava would send her navi another chip...and one that he might like. Receiving the data, Kemix would instantly hold his arms outwards...his hands and fingers immediately becoming encased in a pair of icy gauntlets, a frigid...almost sub-zero mist beginning to pour out of holes that dotted along the beefy metal mits, a pair of cryogenic emitters upon the backs of his hands. A quick flexing of his digits, Kemix nodded as he would immediately swing a downward punch at the larger-than-normal Spikey, a loud "HUUUURRRAH!" coming from the armored titan as he slammed his fist down upon the ground where he thought the Spikey was at, a hissing of cryogenic air erupting from the gauntlet obscuring his vision for all but a moment...before he would follow up his earth shattering punch...with another...his other arm reaching through the mists he had created as he released a might punch towards the Spikey again in an attempt to end it's existence, another pneumatic hiss of sub-zero mists surrounding his arm all the while.

The trouble with missing large stretches of time on the net was usually that it evolved along without you, and Kemix's first meeting with one of the nastier results of that proved to be an eye-opener for both the navi, and his operator. The howl of its challenge still echoing, Kemix might have presumed he had time to take a quick sip of water from back where he was standing, but the massive Spikey lunged forward suddenly, curling up into a spiked ball as it did and shredding down from the hillside, straight towards him. Flames covered the meta-virus and ignited a trail through the grass as it bore down on him like a wrecking ball, and Kemix only just barely managed to lunge to the side and avoid its rolling charge.

The beast uncurled and landed on its feet alongside the navi, just as Kemix countered with a high-pressure attack of his own, hammering into the over-sized virus. Even though his attack shoved it hard, the Spikey only gave a relatively small amount of ground. The hiss of water on its fur and hide, however, made it growl and bark in pain.

From above, the two fire birds wheeled and launched blazing images of themselves down at where Kemix was attacking his foe. One splashed into he panels next to him, while the other forced him to jump to the side to avoid getting burned. The Spikey jumped and turned with him, however, keeping its fire-engulfed jaws pointing towards the navi the whole time. As Kemix received his frozen gauntlets and made to strike, the beast braced itself, then threw back its head and howled again. A searing burst of fire erupted from its body in all directions, filing the air with fire and sending Kemix reeling for the moment it lasted. Around his arm, the leather belt received enough of a burn that it broke free and fell to the ground, unsalvagable.

His first strike had failed to connect, thanks to the unexpected blast-wave, but he made good with his second strike, punching hard. The blow connected; the give of flesh followed by the crunch and grind of bones shattering was enough to tell the navi that it was a solid blow, despite the brief backwash of steam that followed. The pronounced yelp followed by a tell-tale crash and thud was better proof that the hug virus had fallen and wold no longer be getting up again.

Far above, the two phoenix viruses saw the sudden reversal of fate and peeled off, flying in different directions as the winged swiftly away from the path. He wouldn't be able to collect the bounty on those two, unfortunately.

FirePhoenixFirePhoenix (FirePhoenix)

FirePhoenixes are medium sized birds, constantly emitting fire from their body. Despite being able to fly, they lack some of the grace other flying viruses, and have only average dodging capability. Higher versions are truer to their name, and are capable of reviving themselves. However, a Wind-type attack will blow away their ashes before they can regenerate, and if they're deleted with an Aqua attack, the ashes don't form.

Area: Hades Isle, Kotobuki Town

HP: 110
Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Fire + Wide Attack
Attack Accuracy: A
Attack Description: Launches a wide wave of fire, shaped like a bird.
Element: Fire
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): PhoenixShot1, Zenny
Special: OmniShoes
Special: Rebirth: When this virus is deleted by a non-Aqua attack, it fades to ashes, then rises from them at the end of the turn at 30 HP. This effect only works once per virus. Does not trigger if the virus was deleted by a Wind-type attack, or if a Wind-type attack is used on the ashes prior to revival.

Kemix sneered at the loss of his bounties and the prize belt he had acquired, but regardless absorbed his rewards and sent them to his new home. A sigh from the navi, he would jack out for the time being, looking to upgrade himself
