Jazz in: Frigid Dragon Slayer

Shivering visibly in the cold winds as Jazz continued to make his way through the network, the rabbit's footsteps light as air as he plowed through the network in search of his next quarry. And soon enough, the dragon appeared forth!...with a funny looking crown on it's head. Well, that was unexpected, but he couldn't help but think it signified something important to the viruses that surrounded it? Okay, lets see...there's a Bluegon...why do I get the feeling that's the same virus I ejected last battle...a giant wrecking ball with arms...and...oh...you two. Guess you chased after me after that last fight. Jazz spoke simply, shaking his head at the virus duo near him, paying them no mind at the end of the day before locking eyes back with the Bluegon, something was telling him the Bluegon was important for something, so if nothing else, he could knock it's head right off with a good attack and see what happens. The other viruses will get attacks against him...but it could be useful for future encounters like this.

Closing his eyes and breathing deeply of the frigid air around him, the navi began to tap into his processors and soon began to start his Soul Cross procedures, Jazz's one-piece navisuit began to fall away, revealing the bun to the viruses ever so briefly before his body quickly covered it;s self up. An oversized pair of denim overalls began to wrap around his lower body, drooping downwards at a point, feet completely covered in the leggings that he wore, a simple white (and oil stained) undershirt in the visage of a "wifebeater" beginning to cover his chest with little in the way of imagination as it clung to his chest as a blue jacket began to slowly come outwards, covering his shoulders and his chest to a pronounced degree. All the while, a pair of goggles began to slowly wrap around his head, one eyepiece lightly scratched from use with an orange tint to them. Finally a red pompom began to sprout upwards from the middle of his head, going up a few meters before finally drooping down with a light fuzz across it's surface, and a pair of tiny black bat wings sprouting from his back, ripping through the fabric of his jacket. Awright. Lets knock off the head of a dragon! Stephine, send me the GigasArm. I'm going Neuclear on this Bluegon and see what happens. Jazz would happily speak, feeling some semblance of warmth covering his body now, the rabbit taking a chance to pull out what looked like a short fuse bomb.

Taking aim towards the Bluegon's territory, Jazz would heft the bomb up into the air and toss it with ferocity. The metallic sphere clinking into the snow after a bit of a distance, the Navi's weapon would detonate before long, a blast of energy, along with some seeds and the like, sending a powdery substance all around it's blast, wind carrying the spores across the field briefly before the spores would begin sucking in the snow and ice that covered across the land. Before long, warm, loamy soil began to sprout. Ice cracking and shattering across the area before finishing after a good part of the field had reformed into Jazz's preferred stage.

Cracking his knuckles and popping his neck, forcing Prose's fight or flight programming down...Jazz brought his feet down and began to vibrate subtly, his body slowly bounding up and down, left and right. Overclocking his systems to increase his movement speed and pace, the navi began to book it across ice and soil, his body practically lighting up in a haze as a line of energy began to trail back behind the horny bunny. Light blinding the viruses as the navi trekked across the field in a straight line, his arms behind him as he ran and his upper body lower to the ground as he charged straight towards the Bluegon King, his body enveloped in a bright haze as he rushed it from the front, jumping up into the air and sending himself flying towards the Bluegon, shoulder out forwards as he attempted to connect with a speed charged shoulder charge.

Finally finishing is charge into the dragon, hopping backwards from the hole and dragon for a brief moment, Jazz began to tap into the power of a raging monster. His fists clenched, he began to channel the energy of a giant roaring monster deep into his fists, his body quaking with energy, displacing rock and dirt as he charged the chip inside of him. Fist beginning to grow bigger and bigger, rocks and soil beginning to fly into the fist he had been charging the energy of. Time to knock ya outta tha park, ya big lug! Jazz shouted as the fist finally finished. Jumping upwards like a flea, Jazz attempted to deliver himself a knockout punch worthy of a street fighter, flames at the edge of the earth-made fist as he attempted to send the Bluegon's head flying off, as the fist cracked and splintered off his own, sending earth scattering across the field.

Landing on the ground, Jazz took it upon himself to disengage from the Bluegon, he wanted to chance killing it now, he wanted to see his chance to kill the Bluegon even harder, but he needed to beat feet out of it's range of attack. His body moving almost on autopilot as he fled somewhat back to where he came from, his body shaking and shuddering , hopping to and fro in an attempt to evade getting piled on. by the king's subjects.

Some of the viruses might have been ones he'd seen before, or they might have been other examples of the same – it was too hard to tell immediately, and Jazz didn't have a lot of time to waste. He promptly opted for more speed and underwent a rapid change of outfit. The fortfighter made a solid-looking shield in front of one of the missing holes, while the sun and moon viruses attacked Jazz directly, but the moon laser hissed into the snow where the bunny-boy had been only moments before, and Jazz was already off and moving.

As fresh soil spread across the hole where the Bluegon currently was, Jazz zipped across to it. As he leapt to deliver his rapid check, however, the dragon ducked away, disappearing into the hole and re-emerging on the far side of the hills, behind the icy shield that its compatriot had just set up. In the valley, the Ashuraid raised its arms in a defensive pose while the fortfighter ran swiftly across the hills to the back hole, assessing the snow there for its shield-worthiness.

The Solarite took a shot at Jazz as the rest of his movement took him across the field to the dragon's new location, but Jazz was easily too quick for it. He skidded to a halt as his oversized fist charged, on the far side to the fixed shield, and as the Bluegon turned in an effort to swerve away from the dangerous threat in its face, Jazz smacked it with all the force and wrath he could muster, driving the virus up out of the hole, to land in a disintegrating heap just nearby.

The fortfighter was holding a snowball, ready to throw, but it hesitated. It glanced between the fallen king, Jazz, and then to the other viruses. In the valley, the Ashuraid creaked and swivelled, then lifted its arms in a triplicate of shrugs. With a small sigh, the fighter hucked its snowball almost playfully at the lunaroid, which dodged around its partner and made an amused humming noise.

The remaining viruses then seemed to lose interest; the sun and moon viruses drifted off to the north, while the Ashuraid trundled away between the hills and out of sight. The fortfighter sat down and began building a snowman, ignoring jazz.

For his part, Jazz had some spoils to collect, now that the battle seemed to be quite suddenly over.

AshuraidAshuraid (Ashuraid)

The Ashuraid are a new strain of 6 foot tall semi-humanoid viruses with bodies made of durable metal alloys. Ashuraid viruses lack legs, and instead roll around on a 1 ton solid steel ball 1-foot in diameter that rests in a cupola. Rising from the top of the cupola is an alloy pillar that supports their smooth and curving metal bodies. The key defining feature of Ashuraid viruses are their half dozen free-floating arm segments constructed of an indestructible alloy. Three of these arms feature metallic rights hands, and the other three feature metallic left hands, thus they are differentiated. In combat, the virus will ball these hands up into fists, and launch volleys of rocket punches at their foes. The virus' helmeted head rests upon a short metallic rod-like neck with their faces hidden behind a metallic faceplate. The exception being their mouths, which are generally curved downwards in a permanent frown while in the presence of Navigators. It is speculated that Ashuraid are a hacked derivative of the Bladia viruses spliced together with fragments of other viruses and a healthy dose of battlechip program data. This would account for their size, strength, and malicious nature. Where and how this was possibly accomplished is unknown. Ashuraid viruses move and dodge at better than average speeds, although they rarely choose to dodge at all. Ashuraid viruses are ranged attackers, and prefer to hold the range open against their enemies as melee range attacks with their Impacting abilities generally render Counters useless. Ashuraids attack by launching their six free-floating indestructible alloy arms at one or more enemies in volleys of 3 rocket punches. It takes 3 arms to execute a MeteorKnucke attack, 3 to execute a Counter attack, and all 6 to execute their GiantHook attack. It takes roughly an action of cooldowm time after executing a long distance attack for the arms used in the attack to return to the Ashuraid's side. During this time, they may not execute a Counter Attack if they do not have enough arms available. Ergo if all 6 arms are either being used in an attack, or in cool-down following an attack or counter attack, the Ashuraid cannot use a Counter. The rest of their attacks do not require their arms to return to their side. The return feature is automatic, and does not require actions to perform. Ashuraid can move while attacking or defending, and are allowed to counter while dodging if enough arms are available. Setting a counter requires an action while executing one does not. Ashuraid are extremely heavy viruses that will sink like the lead weights they are in liquid, and they know it. They will avoid liquid terrain entirely, if possible, and will never appear near these types of naturally occurring terrain for this reason. Only an Ashuraid's body is damageable. Striking an Ashuraid's floating arms will not damage the virus or the arms themselves, no matter what you hit them with. The Ashuraids will not intentionally defend themselves with their arms outside of their Counter ability, which is nullified by Impact. Do not abuse this.

Area: Sharo, NAXA

HP: 100
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 5 Null + Impact + Break x 3 Fists
Primary Attack Accuracy: B
Primary Attack Description: Launches three rocket fists at distant opponents. Each fist may target individually, meaning multi-hit and/or multi-target both work up to a max of 3 punches.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: Counter vs Damage: 5 Null + Impact + Break x 2 Hits
Secondary Attack Accuracy: S (Block) / B (Counter)
Secondary Attack Description: Uses a trio of fists to block a non-Impact attack while executing a double punch counterstrike. Only two Counters may be active at any given time, and the virus must be physically able to execute a counter in order to use one. Counters work at any range. An action is required to set this effect, but no actions are required to execute the Counter when triggered, as it is automatic. Impact attacks nullify this Counter ability.
Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 5 Null + Impact + Break + LifeSword Range x 2 Attacks
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: B
Tertiary Attack Description: Sweeps the field with a salvo of flying fists from the left, and then the right. Does not damage friendlies, and may be executed at any range. The virus cannot use Counters while executing this attack.
Element: Null
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): MeteorKnuckle1, Counter1, Zenny
Special: SuperArmor: Immunity to Knockback, Microburst, Pull, Gravity, and similar effects.
Special: HardCase: Damage is reduced by half until hit with a Break attack, at which time this effect is nullified and they take standard damage. Break does not deal extra damage.

FortFighterFortFighter (FortFighter)

A short little humanoid virus no more than 2 feet tall, the FortFighter uses it stature to its advantage in its combat style of choice: snowball fighting. Being able to endlessly produce snow forts and snowballs, FortFighter will harass you endlessly with below-freezing balls of pain. Its body is outfitted in miniaturized winter gear, including a snow cap, winter coat, and snowshoes. Its only exposure comes from its head, which is just a grey sphere with two big eyes on it. Its hands, which only have 3 fingers each, are a bit disproportionately large compared to the rest of its body. The difference between the virus levels is the outfit: FortFighter is green, FortWarrior is blue, and FortChampion is red.

Area: Sharo

HP: 50
Attack Damage/Effect: 15 Aqua
Attack Accuracy: C
Attack Description: Throws a snowball.
Element: Aqua
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): SnowFort1, Zenny

, Bluegon Bounty +1
Jazz would sigh out in contentment, he didn't think that would work. Alright. Next time I see a Kingie, gonna knock em for a loop if I want a quick win...alright then. Wonder if something else happens with the surrounding viruses...ah well, next time. Maybe. I don't like tha look of those Ashuraids... Jazz mused as the clothing he had created began to fall away completely, cross disengaging as he slowly continued on, lost in thought.

(Battle 3, 200 HP, Bluegon bounty)
With the sudden victory on his last fight, Jazz shuffled off further into the Sharo network after disengaging his ProseCross. Through the frozen tundra, he came back to a flatter region of deep snow. In the mounds of snow, he happened upon a small trickling stream, though further down its length, it quickly froze over as it led to a sizable icy lake. The lake seemed to be inhabited by a single Bluegon, with a small hole surrounded by cracked ice being its home. It seemed to not have noticed Jazz's approach, since it was turned away from him towards the other end of the lake. Snarling at something in its sight, it spat out a few bursts of icy breath towards the end of the lake. There, a trio of frozen-over snowmen were situated, and Jazz could see the outline of an odd red-colored CirKill virus, though this one had two arms instead of one.

The snowman protected the red CirKill from the icy breath, looking like it was no worse for wear, as it then retaliated with a shot of red laser fire from its head, which sailed over the dragon's head. As both seemed to be locked in combat between each other, they were less obliged to pay attention to Jazz. That is, until a viral bellow came from behind Jazz: a pair of blue Swordies had come up on his flank! At that moment, the Bluegon turned in Jazz's direction, and that moment of hesitation spelled out its defeat; the virus on the far end of the snowbank fired its laser again, and engulfed the Bluegon in a deep crimson. The same laser fired off in the Swordies' direction, immobilizing all of them briefly, before they started moving again and turned to Jazz, an odd red glow radiating from their eyes...

-- Rogue Battle 3 Ready? Start!! --
Inhaling deeply as he found himself sandwiched between two groupings of viruses, Jazz felt like he didn't exactly belong in this area, finding two Swordies in blue armor behind him, before...whatever happened, happened. A blast of red energy washing over the dragon and Swordies...they turned to him almost immediately afterwards, so he was kinda trapped at the end of the day.

Battle systems revving up, Jazz would be quick to move, feet lifting him off the ground briefly as he made an attempt to dodge-roll his way out of a potential sucker-punch by the swordies that focused on him, the navi quick to realize what the virus out of the way was...a Meta...and it seemed they gained some new powers, controlling the local virus populations and in turn painting a large target on their backs. You seein this Stephine? That meta virus just mind controlled the other three. That ain't right. Jazz commented, getting to his feet. His body ready to fight back, hopping side to side as he began to tap into his signature processors. Saw that. Whatever's happening on the net these days, it isn't gonna go unnoticed by the general population. Probably explains that "King" Bluegon and the defending of a Mystery Data. The net's changing and we need to adapt quickly, otherwise it's not gonna be safe for long. Stephine replied as she began to flick through their chip folder, Jazz meanwhile setting up defenses. A barrier and casing slowly rising to shield his furry ass from harm, he had several viruses to defang and had no time to waste. You put that IceDragon chip in the folder?Yea? Why?Send it to me. Along with the Boomerang, Dashattack and Bubble-V. Jazz spoke, the two having a quick back and forth before Stephine would send him the chips one after another, the navi focusing his sights on the dragon and the Meta.

Quick to activate the first chip he was given, the navi began his processors in the right way. A rumble from beneath the field as he began to chant in an ancient tongue. Rumbling growing in intensity before came, a Bluegon in the same shape and size of the enemy Bluegon. A snarl from the dragon as it had to share it's space with the enemy, but a moment passed before it tilted it's head up towards the skies and a blood curdling roar would bring out a trio of icicles. Each one flying towards their respective targets, one hanging right over the enemy Bluegon, the other two immediately homing in on the duo of Swordies as the icicles curved and moved about the air distinctly to match their movements, all the while the dragon summoned squeezed it's way back underneath the field to disappear.

Sighing contentedly, Jazz would summon up another weapon to fight with, the navi would create a larger-than-himself Boomerang, a light metallic sheen coming off of it in the winter sunlight as he took hold of one of the handles underneath the giant bladed weapon. Quickly, the navi would hold tightly to the handle with both hands and begin to move about in a circle, feet digging into the snow as he began to slowly garner speed and force, his body slowly turning into a whirling green tornado as he continued to spin about in place, blade slicing through the air until finally, with good timing, released the blade into the air. The weapon curling about in the air like nothing else, slicing the air as it rapidly attempted to careen and slice through both the dragon's throat and the Meta-virus' hide like a knife through butter, the arc continuing to slowly curve as it careened off into the distance, disappearing before long.

Quickly flowing to his next chip, the lapine navi would pull out a simple cape from the ether, the cape made out of the material Fishies were created from. Wrapping himself up in the material, a pair of rudders popping out as Jazz was ready to rocket off towards the Metavirus. Quickly hopping up into the air, the rabbit quickly assessing his trajectory, rocketed towards the virus that had taken control of the others, easy target right? Jazz sent out streams of ice, water and snow all about the sides of his body as he attempted to impact hard against the meta's hard body, sending him sliding, barely above the snow and ice as he came to a skidding halt.

Quickly following up, a simple pistol materialized into his hands. A simple single-shot weapon, but he knew all too well how to use them. Taking aim at the meta, Jazz would look down the simple sights of his weapon, pulling the trigger soon after. A bubbling surge of water flooding from the barrel as compressed water flew out, exploding upon impact with great force, the explosive portion spreading out to either side, a V-shape in the snow and ice at the end.

Strange oddities of the ever evolving net were making Jazz's latest expedition more interesting, but the veteran bunny boy was quick to get to work. Or, he would have been, quickly assessing the scene and requesting support, but the two swordies that had emerged behind him acted with unthinking speed and viciousness, stabbing at him in unison. Jazz was able to dodge one blade, and barely managed to raise his defences in time to block the other. No sooner had her turned his attention to protecting himself from the duo behind him, however, then a fresh blast of ice and frost hammered across his back from the controlled bluegon, stripping off his barrier.

His summoned ice dragon shot a trio of attacks, though the other bluegon curled away from the one directed at it. The other two darted down towards the swordies, with one connecting and the other passing wide. The missed shots curved in the air and came about, trailing frost as they did, but it would be a moment before they could strike again.

In this brief skirmish, the oversized Rapidfire had waited, picking its moment. As jazz summoned his boomerang and planted his feet to begin swinging it, a burst of fire and metal shot forward form between the snowmen. One of the meta's remote bits, wreaked in shattering flame crashed into him squarely; his protective casing crumbled and broke, but just barely saved the navi underneath from a nasty burn.

The force of the blow staggered Jazz briefly, but he was able to recover his stance and swing his weapon about, gaining speed and sending it out on a scything arc. The shot he was aiming for was difficult to nail, with the way the weapon was wont to curve; it didn't quite manage to connect with the bluegon, but the more important target behind, the Rapidfire, took the blow solidly. As the boomerang attempted to cleave into it, however, just before reaching the virus, it struck a previously unseen ward, as flames leapt up around the meta-virus in a burning aura. the boomerang pressed on its strike, cleaving through the fiery field after a moment of tension, but it skited off wild as it broke through, disappearing into the snowfield beyond.

The assault from the controlled viruses didn't slow for Jazz, and they continued to harass him with mindless determination. The Bluegon blasted him with a second fierce breath of frost, and this time he had no protections to cover him. The rabbit took it in the chest, and sent ice and frost flying up as he accelerated into a dash that aimed to bring him into contention with the dangerous meta-virus. He blasted through the bluegon, damaging it badly, and also obliterated one of the snowmen in the way, before crashing with force into the chest of the Rapidfire and driving it back.

Up close and personal, Jazz pulled a pistol, but even as the virus recovered from his first assault, a vent opened and bathed the immediate area in a roar of flame, from which Jazz had no cover. Ice and snow melted around them and Jazz pushed through the burn to fire his weapon. It struck true, drenching and quenching the large virus in a cloud of steam, before the rapid cold of the network misted and re-froze around it. Frost formed, and as Jazz landed on the rapidly melting ice, it reeled backwards, its joints locking up and its options shuddering in their orbit.

Before he could finish it off, a blur of motion obscured Jazz's vision, as the remaining Swordy warped close, putting itself between Jazz and the damaged meta, sword raised high. Behind it, the flaming aura flickered and rose up to cover the RapidFire again, beginning to defrost its joints swiftly. It wouldn't stay locked down for long.

Jazz grunted and almost screamed out as he was pelted with attack after attack, his body damp, crispy and even just a bit singed from the Metavirus. He should have dodged more, should have done more to prevent this damage, but what he needed to do was get rid of these viruses, even if he wasn't in tip top shape for later, he could always use subchips. Fur singed and crispy from the blasts he received, to say nothing of the frost that coated his chest, he had a lot of damage to undo, all the while the blasts of ice were homing in on his foes and he was going to be happy to see them connect, despite the swordy in front of him, arms raised high, blade in tow. Ya think that scares me? Jazz muttered as he waited for a brief moment before quickly launching himself to the side, hopefully out of the Swordy's attack and into some fresh snow he could take a moment on to breathe.

Jazz quickly muttering ancient words underneath his breath, a blast of energy rising around him, cold as the snow beneath his feet, beginning to rise about his body as he took in the power of nature from the terrain. His body slowly but surely beginning to self repair from the damage had incurred from moments ago, happily undoing the virus' work against him, cuts and burns fading away mostly as he looked about. The navi finishing his chance to patch himself up, jumping away from his patch of snow to evade again, the navi going towards the virus that singed his fur earlier, knowing full well what would happen if he did, but knowing that it had an aura to evade damage with, he was ready for this one.

BubbleSpread and Sword, Stephine, I have a virus to cleave away! Jazz spoke out, crouching down as he received his chips lickity split, the navi soon summoning a wide barreled shotgun to his hands. Bubbles slowly moving along the length of his weapon, water sloshing around the insides as he took aim, the navi pulling the trigger as he sent another wave of condensed hard water at the virus for a second time this fight. The attack exploding almost immediately upon contact with the virus or another surface, exploding in a glorious shower of gushing water, coating the exploding point with a wide variety of bubbles and snow upon impact.

Quickly following up, Jazz would toss his weapon away to summon another, a short sword growing from between his fingers, slowly spreading his fingers wide across the hilt that grew within his palm. Quickly rushing the virus, unsure if his explosive weapon had killed it or not, Jazz would swiftly traverse the field between him and the Rapidfire, sword in hand, he would swing the short blade about twice in an attempt to hack and slice the virus up and end this fight.

With the frosty ice locking up the RapidFire's attacks for the moment, it launched itself onto the icy lake, trying to make itself scarce. Jazz, in the meantime, kept up the onslaught of attacks, while the summoned ice dragon's attacks swooped back in and sheared off the Bluegon's head entirely, while the Swordy had its sword arm sliced off. This left the crippled RapidFire to fend for itself, as Jazz restored his fighting strength (+90) and swept in with a wide-barreled BubbleSpreader-powered shotgun. Unfortunately, his hard water shot barely swept past the RapidFire's head, but he was undeterred, and swung his sword valiantly against the very slippery virus. The heat mirages from the FireAura and the ice's slippery surface allowed the virus to barely evade one of his strikes. Then, the next sword slash clashed against the aura and broke through--only for the fire to renew itself with vigor, melting off the frost that had accumulated in the RapidFire's joints. The virus wasted no time in pointing its barrel directly at Jazz's face, ready to fire in a last man's stand.

Panting as he felt almost cheated by the virus managing to evade him for this long, Jazz was quite angry at the virus. CirKills were always an annoyance, even way back when. But this was something else. Ya ain't got much more to go, virus. Jazz spoke simply, pointing his sword point blank at the virus' hull, he knew this was the end, so long as these sword slashes, breathing heavily through his words, he was still structurally far more capable of punishment than the virus in front of him. Let's finish this Jazz spoke again, rushing at the virus in front of him.

Blade in hand, the navi would quickly swipe at the virus' Aura with a quick horizontal swing, attempting to clip through the aura with the very tip of his blade, hoping that he could keep up with the virus' movements, his feet trying to keep up with the movements as he floated above the ice and water. His hair standing on end as he knew full well what the machine was capable of, quickly sliding himself a little bit, holding his head and shoulders down as Ice and Snow as gently moved about beneath his floating feet.

Moving along with the virus as best as he could, the navi felt a click of data enter his PET, immediately holding his other arm forwards, Jazz felt a strap attach to his arm, heft gently weighing him down as the Guard1 that his netop had slotted in began to slowly morph around his forearm, curving inwards towards him slightly as he held the shield out for a few moments, hoping the RapidFire would take the bait and attack so he could counter the virus.

Quickly moving his shield down, sword in hand, Jazz lunged towards the abomination of a virus. His body twisting through the air as he took off, sword brushing across the snow, ice and water as he did. His arm raised above his head, he swung the blade swiftly in a diagonal motion as he landed. Feet and hips swiveling upon the landing, he struck again, turning his entire body around in one swift motion, an attempt to cleave the virus across the chest as his blade continued to swing through the air like butter. His sword, chipped and battered from use, Jazz made one final lunge at the virus. Blade bared, the rabbit attempted to bury the last attack of his blade directly in the virus' chest, plant the blade deep in its body to make sure that it wouldn't make it out of this fight.

The RapidFire's response to Jazz's quip was a burst of flame from its gun barrel, which barely passed by him as he swiped out with his sword. Unfortunately, its nimble movements were amplified by the icy terrain, and it slid out of his range. The flames cracked the ice beneath his feet, but Jazz was undeterred, bringing a shield to bear in front of him for protection. Soon, he dashed in with renewed fervor and dealt a trio of attacks to the robot. The overwhelming number of attacks was too much for the virus's processing. A lapse in its movement allowed Jazz to finally destroy its aura, and then stab it directly through the chest, finally dispatching it.

Battlechip, 1500z, 12 BugFrags, +1 Bluegon Bounty
Panting loudly as he finally dealt his finishing blow against the RapidFire, Jazz hunched himself over the spot it died in for a brief moment before snapping to attention. He looked at the field, zenny and bugfrags strewn about before...noticing the arm of the RapidFire, right where it was at when the virus died in his infinite anger for it's kind. Picking it up and downloading the chip data to his PET. A cold wind blowing over him again, Jazz began to slowly make his way into the net, cold not bothering him in the slightest as he did.

(Battle 4, 200 HP, Bluegon bounty)
Before too long, the snowfields of Sharo gave way to windswept tundra. Hills upon hills spanned Jazz's view, so icy that any fresh powder slid right off, and was quickly blown away. The winds only seemed to increase as the bunny dug his stubby claws in and climbed. All manner of snow blew into his coat and stuck fast, though any onlookers would have a hard time telling it apart from the bunnyfluff.

At last, Jazz climbed his first hill. For his reward, the mystery of the sudden gale was revealed: a small nomadic pack of viruses, trudging through the snowy valley far below. Two BombBoys took turns pushing a Windbox before them, which blasted the snow from their path. A DarkMech followed, dutifully towing a Slimey behind it with a bit of rope and a small sledge. The Slimey, for its part, just seemed happy to be included.

Of greater interest to the dragon-hunter was the jagged, incongruous rip running up the hillside. By all accounts, something seemed to have torn the Net clean open; that something was still in there, but for the life of it Jazz couldn't seem to get his eyes to focus on it. By all rights its graphic didn't even exist, for the dragon that coiled around the lump of mysterious something seemed to vanish around an invisible corner, and reappear around the other side of it.

The Bluegon's eyes narrowed as it realized its home had just been usurped, and it roared a challenge. The viruses down in the valley turned to face the commotion, Upon spotting Jazz, they unanimously took the superior virus' call as a rallying cry, set down their snowblower, and charged.

-EXTERMINATION - DESTROY ALL VIRUSES-
-Battle #4, START!-
Wandering through the cold sharo winds and snow, he would find himself climbing a hill before long and with it...finding a good chunk of viruses below where he had gotten to. Battle routines starting, a sudden sluggishness overtaking his body, not bad...but he would have to force himself through it for the most part. But before he could get to battling...he turned his head towards the Bluegon...and with it, whatever that object was...and a missing terrain wide enough to stare into, his mind trying to...to process what was happening, graphic that practically didn't exist...and the Bluegon protectively coiled around whatever that was...the net was rapidly deteriorating, he wasn't sure how to go about things. And then the Bluegon finally caught wind of him, he was forced into battle, he could probably still escape...but at the same time...he wasn't about to let his quarry get away, plus that near-dimensional tear in the right most parts of the field intrigued him more than anything. He had the tools and the ability to delete everything around him, he just needed to be careful more than usual.

You seeing this shit, Stephine?Yea, interesting terrain layout...and that dragon is acting like...something in one of my games, can't remember where though.Well, for now, send me the IceDragon and Snowfort chips. I need to set up defenses before the viruses come at me enmasse. We can look into whatever the tear is in a bit once the most dangerous viruses are out of our way. Jazz and Stephine would go back and forth for a moment, Jazz standing his ground in front of the viruses that threatened him.

Quick to access his data as it was sent to him, Jazz began to hum under his breath as he slowly began to take the ice and snow around him, bits and pieces of the terrain turning to snow in front of him as he began to build a wall to keep them pesky, no good viruses out protect himself with while he put his current plan into motion. A small, well crafted bunker being molded up in front of him on the very edge of the hill, knowing he needed to work fast before he could go on the attack, the Slimey would keep him pinned down a bit if he wasn't careful as he just finished. Inhaling as he readied himself, the rabbit began to chant under his breath, words from bygone eras as a magic summoning sigil appeared beneath his feet. A soft rumble from beneath the eldritch darkness the missing panels as a second Bluegon emerged from the inky blackness, wings unfurled in its entirety as the dragon turned to the other viruses, a devious grin on its face as it began to breathe a harsh cloud of mist, icicles flying through the air as condensation was frozen in the air and weaponized by the magical rabbit. His dragon obeying his commands, sending these three shards towards the three viruses Jazz had told it to attack, the Windbox, Slimey and DarkMech, each crystalised stalagmite of ice each swooping in towards them in an attempt to skewer their hides.

Sighing out as his dragon began to recede into the inky abyss, he took a look towards the BombBoy and Bluegon, he figured something would have to be done with the two of those over there, he wanted more to thin out the herd more than anything. But quickly, Jazz would jump over his bunker of a defensive position, making his way towards the left more than anything to keep himself lined up with the bombboy and Bluegon, rolling atop the snow briefly to help keep himself on the move. Breathing deeply, the rabbit would tap into his signature processors, his body slowly shielding itself from the dangers of the battle, slowly but surely a combination of defensive measures would begin to cover his body, a clear barrier and a hardy casing to help with the prevention of his ass getting blasted by the viruses that lined up for him.

Defenses raised, Jazz began to run forward down the hill a bit, probably a good half way down the hill to help himself lineup the two viruses he was blatantly wishing to hit in a single attack. The Bluegon especially not about to like what he was going to pack against it. Stephine, DollThunder, I got an idea! Jazz spoke in a hurry, sliding to a stop on the hill as he hoped, chip downloaded to his core. Summoning a Scarecrow in his hands, Jazz would slowly move the weaponized Scarecrow in his hands at varying degrees, trying his best to avoid overshooting or undershooting his targets, soon enough he thought he had his shot lined up in just a way he could get away with. Thumping the back of the Scarecrow, a bolt from the blue zapped down from the clear Sharo skies, electrifying the virus in his hands briefly before sending out a single piercing bolt of lighting down the path he had set up for it, swiftly flying through the air, Jazz hoped in the back of his mind he could hit both viruses with his weaponized virus, the bolt disappearing off into the distance before long.

The DarkMech clanged its arms together to commence the charge, and they were off. The resulting thunderball drifted lazily into the air - whether it had actually meant to aim it at Jazz was anyone's guess. It was coming back down, so he might have to worry about it sometime this century, but that was neither here nor there.

In response, Jazz prepared himself for a game of defend the castle, and summoned his own attacker. The wild Bluegon roared angrily at the intrusion, then roared louder when the DarkMech and its Slimey sledge were blasted away in a tide of frozen breath. The WIndbox managed to blow the stream off-course, though the IceDragon's chill lingered in the air. The Bluegon added its own blast to the mix, washing away Jazz's hastily-formed barrier but leaving him otherwise intact.

The BombBoys sensed their opportunity, and each formed a ready-made bomb. With the Windbox at their backs, pushing their payloads up the hill was small work; within moments, there was a bomb pushed against Jazz's snowy battlement, and another rapidly approaching. The viruses braced their little round bodies and prepared to jump back down the hill.

Meanwhile, Jazz had come packing his own fancy footwork, and was eager to show it off. The bunny's weaponized Scarecrow glowed menacingly against the ice. The gumball-shaped BombBoy was inexplicably agile enough to avoid a bolt of lightning on its jagged arc across the hill. It shot straight through the dark nothing, which made a wretched keening noise at being disturbed, and missed the Bluegon completely. Roaring triumphantly, the Bluegon fired a second volley - this one Jazz actually felt, a great freezing thud of pressing against his casing, and then there was nothing left to protect him from the world but his own tremendous bunnyfluff.

The ground rumbled.

Jazz's ears perked up; he could hear something coming from underground. Something like many people all talking at once, until their voices blur together into a murmurous hodgepodge.

The ground rumbled, then groaned. The rip was getting wider, spreading across the hill like a split seam.

Something was leaking from the rip. Something that twisted around corners the eye could not see.

-TURN #2 - START!-
Letting his annoyance show on his face, he was sure everything would have gone right with his attacks...at least he thinned the numbers out, even if it was just two viruses, he still had the bombboys to deal with, that obnoxious Windbox blowing into him...and the major threat in the Bluegon was only fueling his paranoia as it and the Bombboy managed to evade his shocking doll. But then...the rumbling...the voices...the absolute blackness that permeated where the Bluegon was setup at...he was getting deeper and deeper in, the yawning void devouring the field slowly...but it was happening. He was on a timer, he wasn't even sure if he could close it up with his own signatures. And then the bombs that were laid...he couldn't go back to his defensive fort and he had a bomb sliding down the hill towards him.

Flight or fight responses kicking in, Jazz moved...his body being forced back by the Windbox as his Dragon's icy breath was homing in on it, he couldn't rely on it striking the Windbox to prevent his being blown back, but at least the homing projectile wasn't in it's path again...or so the rabbit thought briefly. But regardless, his path would take him around the left of the hill, he needed to catch the BombBoy on its way back before it could set up another bomb and he needed to get a bit shielded from the Bluegon if he could, his snowfort could at least take the bomb's explosion once it went off. But now he needed a weapon, one that he was familiar with. CircleGun! Jazz shouted as he moved in a wide semi-circle around the hill, the virus in sight as Jazz heard a click amongst the cacophony of voices from the ever encroaching void.
The navi quick to produce a weapon as he brought his hands up in front of himself, the navi producing a finely produced sniper rifle from the air in front of him. The weapon shining in the sunlight as it had been put through its paces time and again, marks on the barrel tallying kills too numerous to count properly, a battered and beaten scope affixed to the top and with a click, Jazz loading in a quartet of .308 caliber bullets into a bolt action chamber. Avoid this ya pest. He spoke simply before pulling the trigger. Amongst the voices from the void, a single bullet rang out, exploding from the chamber and sending Jazz a few centimeters backwards against the snow and ice, bullet flying through the air rapidly before hitting the ice with a ping, bullet disappearing as fast as it was shot out.

Clicking his weapon to load the next round into the chamber, Jazz would quickly move his way out of cover of the hill, he had to get some distance from the viruses at this point and gods knew what would happen if he had managed to fall into the Missing terrain that encroached upon the snow and ice that Sharo was most well known for. The encroaching missing terrain didn't just freak him out, it made him afraid, he had seen many things on the net, but this was completely new to him. An eldrich entity that consumed the paneling, to say nothing of this Bluegon and...these objects that began to multiply...did that thing have as much HP earlier? Either way, his feet skated through the ice with no problem, coming to a dead stop upon the terrain before long and with it, kneeling down to steady his aim. Pointing his rifle into the yawning void, looking through the scope atop the weapon he held, doing everything to steady his aim...his nerves...focusing himself through the scope, inhaling deeply and holding his breath, he took a shot in the dark. Another echo ringing through the voices that spoke in unison, bullet traveling across the air almost instantaneously as he took another shot at the Bluegon, hoping his aim to be true enough to strike the dragon though its defensive fortification in the shadow of that object.

Finally, taking the chance to breathe, Jazz would take his chances against that yawning chasm that continued to grow. Putting his rifle down for a brief moment, Jazz quickly took out a funny looking grenade. Knobs, buttons and dials all across it's rotund surface as he began to tinker with the unorthodox weapon, quickly summoning a mortar and tossing the grenade in, Jazz took aim at the skies above the Bluegon's position. Taking aim, he fired the mortar up, sending his bomb into the stratosphere. An explosion ringing out faintly above the area a moment later, a curious particle shower began to rain down from the skies, slowly fluttering across the field where he aimed, hopefully his bomb would do the trick to trap the void for a bit, soil to spring up from the void and give him a fighting chance to not be consumed by it.

Jazz's quick action got him just clear of the BoyBombs in time to avoid the top of the hill lighting up, utterly demolishing his hasty defence. FloatShoes preserving his footing on the icy slope, his conjured snoipah sniper rifle made short work of the BombBoy nearest him before the virus got any funny ideas. With the horde's force halved, the Bluegon's rage increased such that a vein popped on its rigid, metallic forehead...somehow. More believable was the arctic blast levelled against Jazz, whose quick feet weren't quite quick enough to avoid the gale. This, however, left it open to retaliation, in the form of a cold, hard bullet straight to the face.

Wounded, but still raring to go, the dragon breathed more ice into the air. Having escaped into the valley, which remained mostly clear of the rift, Jazz managed to avoid the worst of the wind, though the chill left in its wake was hideous even without dealing any damage. The BombBoy, having finished its slide back down the hill, formed another bomb and started trudging through the valley with its payload. Given the way its stubby body was half-buried with every step, it didn't seem to be making much headway. The Windbox, faceless and about as basic as virus designs got, still conveyed its desire to help its friend in the anxious twitches it kept making in the BombBoy's direction, but it was itself preoccupied with not being blasted to oblivion. Fortunately for the virus, the remaining icy gale Jazz's dragon had conjured seemed rather unwilling to move much at all. It faded shortly after; large sweatdrops inexplicably slid down the WindBox's sides.

In all the chaos, the grinding groan of the ice slows somewhat; it seemed that while the unknown objects did weaken the Net around them just by existing, the initial rip had likely been in the elder's retaliation to being shot. They gave no indication they noticed Jazz's soil bomb, which for the most part swirled into the void to no effect. The ice around the cracks was quickly broken down into wet, gritty soil, which the two unknowns sat placidly amidst, spreading their jagged tears slowly, slowly out.

SlimeySlimey (Slimey)

Slimey viruses were produced to be sources of major traffic lag. While a Slimey virus is on the battlefield, all Navis and SPs suffer from a passive Slow-like effect that imposes a -10% Evasion AND Movement Speed penalty. This effect is not a status ailment, and cannot be cured. This effect does not stack with itself if more than one Slimey is on the field at once. As this does not count as a true Slow effect, up to two instances of Slow may stack on top of this effect for a total penalty of -30% Evasion/Movement Speed. This effect expires when all Slimey viruses on the field are deleted or flee. Slimey viruses are very slow to move and dodge, but every move they make that is not a dodge counts as an attack. Slimeys deal damage by touching an opponent, thus touching a Slimey directly results in damage to any non-Slimey the virus considers hostile.

-EXTERMINATION - DESTROY ALL VIRUSES-
-TURN #3 - START!-
Jazz's eye twitched as he was hit, but still managing to snipe the dragon at the far end of the field, the damned windbox had managed to avoid being scrapped, twice in a row no less...if Jazz was right, there was more than just "god" watching out for these viruses, that one in particular. Jazz's heart was beating heavy in his chest, the nerves were starting to get into his mind and body as he saw his bomb spiral into the abyss, doing nothing of real use against the void...he needed to finish this sooner, rather than later it seemed, missing terrain was going to be his biggest worry, one tumble down there...and gods only knew what would happen in THIS particular instance. Cocking his gun and letting the casing fall into the fresh snow, Jazz turned to the Windbox and Bluegon, the ever slow BombBoy wasn't about to be a priority target for him and he had two more bullets to fire off and he wasnt about to waste them on the Bombboy.

Turning his head towards the Windbox, Jazz's eyes would shift towards the dragon briefly, it was more a priority target here...but his shot could go off course if the Windbox felt particularly mean with it's blowing power, it really sucked as an offensive virus, but that's what happens when you're immobile. Waiting for the Bluegon to attack, Jazz would take his chance to take evasive measures, the rabbit navi immediately diving upwards towards the Windbox's position, snow exploding around where he made his attempt to evade, fresh snow slowly falling back to the ground where he had flopped into. Slowly rising from his position, Jazz would swipe away all the snow off of his body and face before turning back towards the Windbox, readying his rifle and looking through the scope, breathing deep and holding his breath to steady his nerves, Jazz pulled his trigger once more. His bullet rocketing out like an explosion, the bullet doing everything in its power to cut through the air and wind to connect with the immobile virus, hoping it couldn't turn to where he was at and manage to blow away his bullet.

Turning back towards the dragon he was tasked to slay like any other virus, Jazz would take a moment to exhale as he waited for a moment, before his feet took him off where he had been...and forcing himself to run right at the Bluegon and the yawning missing void that threatened to eat him alive, snow and ice being displaced to either side of Jazz's run as he bolted at full speed towards his quarry. Right at the end of his movement, his legs bent downwards and with inhuman strength, sent himself skywards. His body feeling weightless as he was sent into the air, body slowly twisting as he launched himself at an angle, Jazz holding tight to his last bullet as he let himself drift through the air for a brief moment. Looking down the sights as he lined up the shot he needed on the Bluegon, ejecting the casing from his last shot into the air behind him, Jazz held himself steady for a final moment as he could feel his weightlessness end...and fire off the shot. An explosion ringing out as the last shot fired, ejecting the casing from his weapon, Jazz's rifle disappeared almost immediately, his body continuing to twist as gravity took hold of his body and sending him down onto the snow and ice below.

Gun barrel jittering in his hands as he literally fought the wind, Jazz nonetheless got himself into an angle where he could safely make his shot. The Windbox, in its final act of defiance, pointed towards its BombBoy companion and directed a gale at the snowy valley it trudged through. The drifts quickly cleared as a tremendous cloud blasted through the air just as the Windbox was blasted to pieces with a single shot. Blind, it continued pushing nonetheless. It was, if nothing else, pushing a fair bit faster.

The hill was almost as much hole now as it was hill. Starting to sound a bit panicked, the Bluegon slithered to the edge of its hole and poured an icy wave down the hill. The festering nothing watched with eyes unseen the Navi leap the attack, powerful legs carrying him high overhead. Jazz's trusty rifle proved its worth once more in a final square-off with the Bluegon, as it raised its head high and let loose its final roar. Icy breath and a single gleaming bullet whizzed by each other in midair. Both attacks hit home; Jazz was blown back with the dragon's final blow despite his attempted evasion, hurting but still standing, while the dragon was blasted apart.

The momentum spent, Jazz began his plummet. He's leaped towards the Bluegon, and now he was falling right into the yawning hole it had inhabited. He'd have to act fast, or he might be getting a closer look at whatever whispered under the hill than he really wanted...

-EXTERMINATION - DESTROY ALL VIRUSES-
-TURN #4 - START!-
Jazz had done what he set out to do with his aimed shots, both viruses killed without a second to spare...unfortunately, his fear got the better of him. He was high in the air and unable to do much to keep himself from falling. He was also above the abyssal depths that kept calling to him in it's many voices, the many writhing entities below him wishing to grab and devour him alive if at all possible. He needed a way to evade this fate...and he needed it now. Alright...I'm high in the air, falling towards the missing terrain that has unspeakable horrors that may or may not delete me if I don't do anything to stop myself from being absorbed by them...alright...let's get upright real quick...if I'm right, three chips MIGHT save my furry ass...just gotta hope I got this right...otherwise my busting days MIGHT be over... Jazz spoke to himself, the rabbit sighing out at his current predicament.

Slowly but surely, Jazz would begin the task of righting himself, twisting through the air as he hurtled towards the yawning abyss below him, slowly but surely his head was upright and feet towards the bottomless abyss below. Sending a quick message to his netop, Jazz quickly demanded a trio of chips, ones that MIGHT have applications to evading his imminent death. He wasn't ready for a forced Jack-Out, nor was he about to ready himself to return to the ones and zeros that made him up. Quickly the first chip entered his borrowed PET and quick was he to activate it. Hurriedly, Jazz summoned a gun platform with a trio of guns to either side of it's body, the platform nestled closely to his feet that he could touch it, get his bearings in the air and use it as a way to jump. The Needler he summoned quickly revving it's engines at his wordless command, he was trying to activate it's self-destruct mechanism, the platform doing all it could to move through the air, engines growing louder and louder as Jazz held his ground for as long as possible before...finally bending down, the navi's legs tut and tight as he angled himself briefly before finally throwing caution to the winds. The navi using his summoned help as a secondary jump, Jazz lept from the top of it, a pressure across his feet he ignored as the summoned chip would fall wordlessly, faster into the encroaching darkness that still threatened to devour him whole.

Using his second jump, Jazz waited wordlessly for a moment, waiting to reach his full jump height before activating his second chip. The navi's arms and back being wrapped around by a hardened green material not unlike what a fishy's wings were made out of, the rabbit navi waiting briefly as he began to angle himself, feeling the pull of gravity all over again, slowly his body turning forwards, his entire length of body just barely pointed towards the safety of panels before activating the chip in earnest. A heavy blast of energy rocketing out from behind him, compressed air exiting from his back as the material began to flap up and down rapidly, Jazz's body being subject to the harsh forces of gravity as he flew...or at the very least, glided through the air at high speeds, his form crossing the chasm as quickly as it could. But before the rocketing air finished, before he lost all momentum, Jazz began to charge the energy for his last chip, a brief glow enveloping his body as the DashAttack ran out of juice, the material swiftly falling away and fluttering across the winds as he kept his eyes open the entire way. Inhaling deeply as gravity took his body ahold once more, Jazz brought up his arms, as if a gesture of defeat. Fists clenched as he held his breath, he didn't think this would all work out in the end, he didn't figure he would survive this...but fuck, he had to at least make the try...right? Body glowing brightly as the energy he had charged up began to slowly fade away from his form...excepting his clenched fists. Finally letting out his breath, Jazz's arms made a swift downwards motion behind him, energy expelling from his body and into the chip that he had planned on using...a massive fist of granite and clay flying out from behind him at a light downward angle, the fist swiftly disappearing into the abyss below, but Jazz hoping beyond all hope, the energy he expelled would be enough to send him skyward into the safety of the paneled area, he needed more than anything, a miracle to evade potential deletion at the hands of the twisting darkness beneath him.

's Microburst to help Jazz make it to safety, firing it behind him at a downward angle

Rabbit Kick (1)
Jazz's Needler materialized underfoot. In the instant before gravity asserted itself on the wheeled platform, Jazz kicked off it and delayed his descent one more precious second. Wheels spun fruitlessly as the sacrificial virus plummeted behind him. Running the numbers and finding no other way out, it primed its explosive cyanide pill and readied for the plunge...

...only for something to reach out and catch it on its way down.

Its descent slowed, the Needler's trajectory is diverted away, landing nestled in the dark between the two anomalies. It vanished by degrees before Jazz's eyes: he could see transparence spread unevenly inside the summoned ally. In some unknowable space, it was being pulled behind a curtain, slowly.

And then it was gone. The whispers hiding under the ice, behind the wind seemed louder now to Jazz; even high in the air, he could hear snatches of what almost sounded like conversation.

There was a third nothing-space beneath him now. He was still falling.

Desperation lent speed to the rabbit, along with another sudden burst courtesy of the Operator behind the curtain. He was making headway now, but the DashAttack hadn't done much to improve his little altitude problem. He was still falling, just quickly in one direction.

The nothing was rising up to meet him. He felt cold.

Jazz readied his GigasArm.

The immense shockwave sent him flying once more. Air glowing, it lashed out in violent denial of everything the jagged rift stood for...straight into the reaching tendrils in the dark. Something in the dark screeched, throaty and animalistic, and suddenly one hole was just gone, a rift within a rift. The other two winked out in its wake...and then the Net itself seemed to groan.

The ice started to fall like sand. The crack spread quickly enough for the ground to look like it had simply disintegrated; in seconds, there wasn't a hill anymore. The GigasArm just managed to slam Jazz home outside the perimeter, albeit painfully. Almost immediately behind him, like a pitch-black lake with an icy shore...was a hole.

On the plus-side, he certainly wouldn't have to worry about the last BombBoy anymore.

BluegonBluegon (Bluegon)

Bluegons do not appear before Battle 6. They are extremely territorial among their own kind, so only one HoleDragon can appear per battle. Because they live among holes, they cannot appear without at least 5% Missing terrain.

DarkMechDarkMech (DarkMech)

DarkMechs move and dodge at an average rate, usually. The exception is that they move at a very high rate of speed when they are rushing in to attack a stunned target with their twin swords. They fire low damage thunderball projectiles until someone becomes stunned, at which time one of the DarkMechs present will attack that target.

BombBoyBombBoy (BombLab)

BombLab viruses attack by summoning a huge cube-shaped explosive, called a BoyBomb. They push this bomb towards their enemies, using it as cover against incoming fire as they do so. It takes a BombLab virus an action to summon a BoyBomb, and another 2 to push it into attack range of the enemy. Once the explosive is in range, it will explode the very next turn. BoyBombs have StoneBody, and can be moved with special abilities, such as Knockback, Microburst, Pull, Gravity, and Telekinesis. BoyBombs will explode if physically picked up, however (EX: Rageclaw or similar means). Bomb Lab viruses jump, not teleport, back to their starting position after setting the BoyBomb.

Something glimmered in the dark.

Out in the lake of nothing, in the exact spot where Jazz had unleashed the GigasArm, there was a hole. It was big enough for a Navi to belly-flop into without touching the sides, and seemed to be made of ice, if not for the oddly fluid way it ebbed and flowed in the void. It was pretty far out there, but a Microburst had gotten him from there to his current perch. A Rabbit Kick would surely suffice to make his way back over. The real question of the hour...

Did he really want to know what was down there?

[Use x1 Rabbit Kick to jump down the hole? Y/N]
