Neo-Shogunate Mission Request Hub

Magistrate looked away from Yumi, clearly still mad about the previous day's events. "Technically I was only sharing with you, my powers were not your powers," Aya clarified. "Aya, breathe," Suzume said as she placed her hands on Aya's shoulders. Aya grumbled, before throwing up her hands.

"Fine! Fine. I'm cool. I'm fine. Okay? I just couldn't sleep well last night, okay! Not to mention having to recover from all those feelings," she shuddered. She then spun on Suzume with an angry finger waggle. "You deal with them. It's your turn," she said before stalking off to go cool her heels outside.

Suzume stood there and let Aya vent, not raising any objections. When Aya stomp out, Suzume clapped her hands together, and turned towards Nightshade and Yumi. "Okay, first up, you don't need to merge in order to share powers with each other," she clarified right off the bat. "In fact you can be completely on the other side of the battlefield from each other and still do it. So let's do an experiment." She pointed to Yumi. "You are a Shadow Subtype, so you will most likely use the classic Clone ability. Now, you can use it on yourself to create your own clone, but we will be making you share that ability with your Master."

"Now, Yumi, concentrate on that link between yourselves. Then bring that part of you up and push that ability into Nightshade."

Yumi tilted her head sideways at the explanation, not really grasping what she meant by sending things through the link. She sat down and focused.

Nighty looked up to Drago as nothing happened. "Am I supposed to split in two?"

The little wyvern was becoming slightly impatient, but kept trying to clone her partner instead of herself.
DragonierMan frowned as nothing seemed to happen. "Well, when you create a decoy, it doesn't always have to be a direct split. Sometimes it just appears next to you. Or across the field," he said pointing to the other side of the room. "Though how useful that is depends on whether or not the enemy can see your true body, or guess where you really are. Deceiving someone as to your current location is important on the hunt." He stretched his arms out to either side, and then made fists, before smashing them together. "To strike them where they don't expect you. That is a warrior skill."

Suzume also frowned, walking up to Yumi. "Hey there. Have you never used your Clone skill or communicated through the link before? Let's start with just using the Clone on yourself then. Can you do that for me?" she asked before placing her hand on her heart. "Feel your heart beat. Try to breathe deep and relax. Slow your heart. One's concentration falters when they are stressed," she said in a soothing voice, almost as if she was singing to a child.

"Now, concentrate on that heart beat. Can you visualize the rhythm? Can you visualize it drifting out from behind your ribs, through your flesh, and outside of your body? Shape a vessel for this rhythm to reside. You are in two places, linked by the same beat," Suzume taught. "One becomes two. Two becomes one."

The little wyvern looked down at the hand placed on her heart and then back at Suzume. She seemed to understand what she was saying, somewhat. She tried to activate her ability again and while it took her a couple minutes to get the hang of it she managed to break through. A clone popped out beside her, a perfect copy.

"Hm. A warrior skill..." Nighty mumbled, eating up all the little nuggets of information scattered about by the old navi. He turned on his heels to finally, see two Yumi instead of one. "Oh wow Yumi! You're amazing!"

The little wyvern seemed to get slightly flustered by the compliment as the tip of her tail began to wag around happily, snout buried into Suzume's chest. The cat navi hopped right in the middle of his two wyverns. "So, can the copy be used for cool stuff like fusion or..."
Suzume giggled as she pushed Yumi back. "No, no, nothing like that. It is an illusion of sorts." She then stopped, having an idea. She stroked her chin. "... Well, I guess you could mock putting it on, but it only lasts a short while before fading away. Most of the time you just use it as a distraction. Another target for the enemy to attack, saving you from one hit."

Suzume demonstrated by drawing a dagger from her belt and slashing at the Decoy, making it pop if she hit it. "Okay, so now that you've learned how to use the Clone ability, it is time to figure out how to access your link." Suzume said, sheathing her blade. She looked between Nightshade and Yumi, thoughts crossing her brow. "Okay, so we've seen you 'fuse' before. I'd like you to do that again. However, this time after you fuse, I want you to then un-fuse. Try to pay attention and remember what it feels like when you are fused, versus not being fused."

Nighty and Yumi nodded, preparing themselves for a fusion. Nighty removed his cat features and undressed down to his undersuit. Yumi liquefied into a blob just moments before Nightshade belly flopped into it.in mere moments, Nighty was standing in front of his big sister fully fused with his SP. He was slightly trembling as the ninja outfit tightened around his body. Apparently the little navi's body wasnt used in holding all that power inside him. Especially when that power could root itself all the way into Nighty's coor.

The hybrid let out a muffled squeal of happiness. "Can we stay like this for just a moment?" He asked with his voice changed. A perfect mixture of Yumi's and Nighty's own. "This always feels good..."
Magistrate turned up her nose and left the same direction Aya did, clearly not a fan of the theatrics. DragonierMan and Suzume stayed. "Sure," Suzume responded to Yumi!Shade. "Though while you are doing that, you need to figure out the difference in how you feel between this form, and your previous selves. The only reason why Yumi can equip to you, is because of one of these data-links. Use that to piggy-back your Clone ability, or whatever, between yourselves."

"I think we get it now" Nighty said. "I can...definitely feel the connection. Its not as strong or imposing as Aya's own...but I think I got it."

He wobbled just a moment before splitting in two.

"Uh...its actually kind of easy. It feels super weird though."

The navi turned over to the guy Drago had asked for the mission. The decoy instead kept looki g at Suzume. Or was it the real navi ?

"SO? What are they waiting for? Can we have a mission or not?!" The little ninja squealed.
Nightshade would find Mr. Prog made a good maraca, but not such a great receptionist; all he got for his trouble was frantic wailing, rather than a mission objective or coordinates. A nearby receptionist began to call out to him, before DragonierMan appeared and explained his behavior. "Oh... So that's it! Hold on one moment, please," the receptionist requested, looking down to their keyboard.

Once Nightshade dropped the Mr. Prog, things only became more confusing for the poor receptionist, who, in her attempt to be thorough, was stuck considering what to include and what to omit from a laundry list of details: the knight seemed to be the cat's father, then he wasn't, then suddenly they were scratching the cat, then talking about cloning... She decided to ignore it and put the request through in its most basic terms.

In the usual short span, the request was received. The receptionist waited for a chance to butt in, before Nightshade demanded action. "Of course. Here is your request," the receptionist finished, bringing up a large viewscreen on one side with the mission details.

Quote (Yasu)

Good to hear from you again, DragonierMan, and even better with a fresh recruit. Your joint mission this time will be to rendezvous with a navi named Keep in Netopia Net. From what we understand, she owns a castle and is willing to offer us its usage- for free, no less- as long as we are able to visit, suggest various improvements, and apparently stave off some sort of enemy who is scheduled to arrive.

This is just conjecture on my part, but it sounds as though her castle is poorly defended and we are essentially being hired as both consultants for shoring up the defenses, as well as to man the place with bodies. I can think of no task better served for our forces, you especially. Keep will provide you with clearer details once you arrive.

I'm sending Escort along with Guillotine to the location, as well as a small regiment of our soldiers. With their might and yours combined, not to mention your recruit, I'm certain Keep will be successful in her venture.

-Sky-Severing Ronin, Natural Blademaster, First General Yasu

"If you would both like to accept, please respond in the affirmative and I'll provide the coordinates," the receptionist finished.
Nightshade jumped on the counter and flailed around.

"Yes yes yes yes yes yes!" The navi squealed before turning over to Drago once, then back to the receptionist.

"He says yes too, let's gooooook
DragonierMan accepts the mission.

Suzume tries to yank Nightshade off the table and rap him behind the ears. "Behave!" she hissed. She exhaled and quickly settled down from the embarrassment of a child overreaction, trying to smile and wave off anyone who turned to look at the commotion. She turned back to Nightshade with a stern tone and expression, dotted with kind, motherly intentions. "There are certain ways of acting in front of people. You are making other lives harder and setting a bad impression of us. What do you think people might think of 'dad' if his 'son' misbehaves? They would think poorly." Suzume explained to Nightshade. "You need to think before you act. That is the same in the field of battle as it is in this office asking for a mission."

The receptionist gave a small laugh, then waved her hand. "As long as you promise not to shake any more of our patrons or staff, then we welcome the rest of your enthusiasm. We've informed the client of your acceptance. Please accept these coordinates," she finished, handing over a small data packet. "Good luck."

((Topic opening soon in Netopia Net))
"Come along then. We'll meet with the other two outside and brief them on the situation," DragonierMan said as he headed towards the door. Suzume attempted to lead Nightshade out like a embarrassed parent, waving back at the receptionist and bowing in the Electopian way to indicate that they are sorry, and to please forgive them for any fuss they caused.

Outside they found Magistrate and Aya having some sort of shooting competition to blow off steam. They were taking turns blasting some discarded cans they found from a nearby recycling bin, having them lined up on the far side of the plaza on a stone outcropping. "Oh, don't get mad Magi. I've just been doing this longer than you," Aya mocked as she took out another can with an energy blast from her fingertip. "Hmph! As if I'd lose to an unrefined brute like you," Magistrate retorted as she took out another can with her own energy beam. "Unrefined?!" Aya shouted, probably scaring away any pedestrians that were still nearby. "I'll show you unrefined," she growled before blasting the stone ledge with enough force to blow a chunk out of it, scattering charred cans everywhere.

Before they caused any more damage, or got the GNA on their butts, DragonierMan shouted at them. "Attention! We are leaving now. I will brief you on route," he said before opening a portal and shoving everyone through.

MISSION END!

DragonierMan appeared in the lobby of the Neo-Shogunate section of the Mission BBS and approached the counter. He placed a data slate on the countertop and pushed it towards the receptionist. "Here is my report on the mission. Please make sure that General Yasu receives it at earliest convenience. Also make note that the contracted payment was already received and that Yasu doesn't need to do anything further in that regard. Thank you."

The receptionist accepted DragonierMan's report, then nodded. "I'll ensure it gets to her. Thank you again for using the Global Network Administration's Mission BBS," the receptionist thanked DragonierMan. Just as he'd suspected, there didn't appear to be anything extra waiting for him. Presumably, Yasu would be ready to rant and rave about how Keep had misled him next time they met, or perhaps her head would be cooled by that point.
With the amount of missions lately that were made under false pretenses, it would be amazing if Yasu didn't have a heart attack. "Excellent. See you later," DragonierMan winked and waved at the receptionist before disappearing through another portal.
